2007 Oregon Ducks Football Preview

Eugene, OR: What is it about Oregon football? Is it the 'tapa' uniforms? The stadium? Or something else...I really don't know. The fanbase here in Eugene, Oregon is one of the best fanbases in the nation. Home of the countries loudest stadium (so far). Duck footbal is very popular not only in Oregon but throughout the west coast. The only teams that have had good sucess out west is mostly USC, Arizona State, and Cal. The Ducks have three tough games this upcoming season. In week 2, they have to go the 'Big House' against Michigan. Then week 5 against Cal. But luckily it is at Autzen. They have to play the USC Trojans but again, it is at Eugene. Coach Bellotti said that he is expecting a good year from his players. He said no team is perfect, and he said about 3-4 losses is only what he believes his team will only have. But he also said that everybody is a contender in August..

It's a new season! And we are just excited as you are. Here in week 1 we got some very exciting match-ups. We have Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit too talk all about them. So Lee and Kirk, what are your predictions here in the opening week in the 2007 College Football season?

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/18/091507-USCNeb-GameDaywrap.jpg/300px-091507-USCNeb-GameDaywrap.jpg

Lee Corso: I really think that Tennesse can go into Cal and beat them pretty good. I think Erik Ainge is going to all-out and throughout the night! Tennesse wins this one! 38-24!

Kirk Herbstreit: Well Lee, I agree with you there. I do think the Vols can get this one and beat the Bears. My prediction for the game, 31-21 Vols

Lee Corso: Ohhh baby, you know who I'm picking! Florida State my friend! That's right Florida State is going to beat those Clemson Tigers today! My score? 28-21 'Noles!

Kirk Herbstreit: Well, I have to disagree with you Lee. I think Clemson can get this on a surprise note. They got C.J. Spiller and James Davis in the backfield. No more Lorenzo Booker for Florida State. Clemson wins 27-24.

Lee Corso: Oh here we go...Notre Dame and the Yellow Jackets? A' right. Tech win this one sweetheart. Too much for the Irish too handle in my opionion. Not by much though. Jackets win, 35-31!

Kirk Herbstreit: Ha ha, well I think Notre Dame can win. That's right, I'm picking the Irish. I think Notre Dame's defense is going to hold the Tech offense in this one. Fighting Irish win, 27-23.

After that, the Ducks never looked back. Dennis Dixon hooked up with wide reciever Jaison Williams, and Brian Paysinger to keep the tempo up. Coach Bellotti said that winning the first game is important and that It's always good to start over .500 to begin the season.

"We got a good group of players here. This is going to be a great season. So far it is." - Coach Bellotti

http://mmii.info/icons/RollTide1212/football_johnDavidBooty2.gif
#10 | John David Booty - QB
A QB with good vision and a desire too win. Has good accuracy and mediocre power. A player from USC on the Heisman Watch, no surprise!

http://mmii.info/icons/ColtBrennan/Colt-Brennan.gif
#15 | Colt Brennan - QB
A darkhorse to some sportwriters. A record breaker machine! Can put up crazy numbers. Has the most accurate arm. Competition level could be a factor.

http://mmii.info/icons/goblue0732/football_mikeHart.gif
#20 | Mike Hart - RB
A exlusive running back. A combination of power and speed all put together into the same body. If you win a game, it pretty much because of him.

http://mmii.info/icons/Darren0123/football_timTebow.gif
#15 | Tim Tebow - QB
He is a first year starter, so expect something from him. You really can't compare him to anybody. A passer or a runner? Who knows! Just say both.

http://mmii.info/icons/goblue0732/football_darrenMcfadden.gif
#5 | Darren McFadden - RB
A runner with explosiveness speed. Will break a tackle but that is it. Has a good shot of winning the award this year, next year for sure if he stays.

We are coming to your city! College GameDay is back everyone. Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit are here to break down the big games this week. We got some great matchups here in week two. So Lee and Kirk, take it away!

http://williams.prestosports.com/images/fball/2007/Game_File_Photos/GameDay.jpg

Lee Corso: Ahh yeah, Michigan and Oregon. I got the Wolverines my friend. Mike Hart is going to run on top of them Ducks today! Michigan wins 31-23!

Kirk Herbstreit: Well as much as I like the Buckeys, I think I can let this one slip and I can pick Michigan. Henne is going for over 150 yards, Hart is get two TD's. Michigan wins 28-21.

Lee Corso: LSU and the Hokies? I'm taking the Hokies sweethart! The upset! Frank Beamer said to me that we should expect some 'things' to happen! Va Tech wins, 24-21!

Kirk Herbstreit: Well, I still got LSU this week Lee. Matt Flynn, Glenn Dorsey, and Jacob Hester is going to be too much to handle for the Hokies. LSU wins pretty good 35-21.

Lee Corso: Notre Dame and Penn State! Penn State my friend. Anthony Morrelli too much to handle, one of the most underrated. Penn State wins..Close! 28-24.

Kirk Herbstreit: I got Penn State as well. The linebacking corp for PSU will be too much for Notre Dame's running game to take. I got Penn State winning, 34-24.

Oregon Ducks: 24

Dennis Dixon Made The Michigan
Defense Look Horrible

Ann Arbor, MI: Surprise, surprise. The Ducks came into the Big House and surprised all the Michigan fans dearly. The Ducks started off with a touchdown pass from Dennis Dixon to Derrick Jones. Then on defense the Ducks forced the Wolverines to go three-and-out and made them punt. Derrick Jones returned the punt for a touchdown to put the Ducks up 14-0! The Ducks kept it up. But Michigan didn't want Oregon to get the win on the Michigan turf. Chad Henne connected to Adrian Arrington for a touchdown pass. But Michigan's defenese couldn't stop Oregon's offense.

"We went out there and played our tails off. We really played as hard as we could." - Dennis Dixon
