I know a lot of you youngsters didnt get a chance to watch the Nigerian Nightmare but I did. He was called the Nigerian Nightmare because of his size, strength, and speed for a guy that big. He was recorded to have as high of a 4.4 40 yard dash and as low as a 4.5 40 yard dash. Thats what made him a nightmare. Many power RB's came through the NFL before he did but not with the combination of size and speed that he had. He went to Azusa college on a Track scholarship LOL. I think they didnt give it to him because he would be to powerful in this game with Speed Burner. I made him a Gold RB with Speed Burner and the other 4 attributes he had in the game and he was a Nigerian Nightmare! Just ask Minh.

Google him and his ****ory and 40 yard dash times. You will see that I am telling you the truth.

Okoye ran a 4.45. That is absolutely true.

4.45 is not fast enough for speed burner. Maybe if he was a linebacker or something, but not for RB. Speed Burner is having excellent speed for his position and 4.45 is not fast enough for a RB. If 4.45 is a speed burner then 50% of all the DBs and WRs in the NFL are speed burners.

Yep, my 3rd favorite player of all time behind Derrick Thomas and Erik Dickerson. Okoye was fast. I remember when they used to say, he was as big as his lineman and can run faster then Jerry Rice. He's a truck in this game, but a slow one. lol Maybe not speed burner, but faster then what he is.

Agreed. And by giving Okoye yet another ability you might as well make him a gold.

I did re create him as a Gold ;) If he isnt a speed burner than he should have some kind of speed attribute since he runs so damn slow.

He needs to avoid appearing on television. Wasn't he on some pirate game show thingy on CBS?

God I never forget that one play where he blew through like the entire Seahawks D for TD, one of the most amazing power runs in NFL history IMO.

Yea he dragged 7 Seahawks defenders in to the end zone LOL. Its funny also because people complain that he breaks tackles in this game yet in real life he broke them left and right just like that play where he broke 7 tackles.

Agree 100%.

Yes he was very fast for his size, but he did not have top notch speed for his position.

If anyone needs to be faster in this game it is "Marcus Allen". He is horrible in this game and that does not represent him at all.

this is somewhat off topic but are some people complaining that okoye should be faster and break more tackles but they complain when earl campbell breaks 2 tackles a run like he actually did in real life

They should make Okoye tackle the linebackers when he is pass blocking. My dad told me that when he first came, he tackled a Linebacker up field when pass protecting, he just straight up ran up to the linebacker and nailed him.

Whats funny is he didnt even know how to play football when he was drafted by the Chiefs LOL. They just gave him the ball and said run straight and dont stop until you reach the end zone.

Guy is in his 40's with a busted up knee. He tore it real bad thats what ended his career. ITs never been the same since. It only gets worse with age.

He was a hell of a player that got his career cut short because of injury, It happens.

I love Okoye to death one of my all time favorite players, but he got jacked up big time by Steve A****er. Then again who hasnt by Steve. A****er was able to lay some wood down just like Ronnie Lott. Just vicious hits. I still have the play on a old VHS tape somewhere. lol

Well Rice owned At****ers at the superbowl. At****ers tried to lay a big one on Rice and Rice bounced back and ran it for a touchdown. Shows you how overrated Big Hits are when you can just make a wrap up tackle and maybe make a play on the new sets of downs against the offense.

Big hits are not over rated at all. When someone gets hit like that, then they go over the middle the next time, they often allegator arm it and get scared. There are certain times when you go for the big hit and there are times when you should wrap up. A****er was a ****** fine Safety. He should be imo hall of fame bound. He was good and i hate the broncos.

Yes they are, reason why Sean Taylor blew some of his coverage and lead the league in miss tackles.

Guys like him and their ability to hit like that will take that gamble. imo its the same as a cornerback trying to jump the route for a interception. Sometimes they lose that gamble and bad things happen.

big hits overrated?? scaring a guy to catch over the middle or catch at all, opposed to doing a regular tackle so he will catch, plus having a chance at injuring the guy, seems like a good tradeoff for a few missed tackles

Whats the point of big hit when you can make a play on the ball.

Big Hit is not overrated. In a league game, I had my WR going over the middle and he caught the ball then was BLASTED by the SS with Big Hit. My WR broke his spine and was out for the rest of the season.

What would you have? Big hit or int?

Big M
August 9th, 2008, 07:40 PM
INT, but if a guy is in position to pick it off, he won't go Big Hit unless the guy catches the ball. The defender will always go for the pick if they're in position to do it. The DBs will only do the Big Hit if the guy either has already caught the ball (to try and jar it loose), or when he's in position to do a Big Hit, but not pick it off (to cause an incompletion). But a DB will always try for the pick over the Big Hit.
