View Full Version : uhhh!!!!! These lobby scrubs are killing my feedback

Seriously, out of the last 7 games or so, I think I've received 2 pos, 2 Neu and 3 negs....All because I've layed serious butt whoopings on them. I used to be picky on who I play, but it's getting to be slim pickings in the lobbies and I'm settling for anyone that's in there....It's funny, if you play someone that has a feedback that is around 60% and they are totally cheese, they will leave you a negitive no matter what after the game (if they lose)

I played this one guy yesterday who would bring his LB up into the space between the tackle and center and get that one second sack on me...Well after he did it for the third time, I started to quick snap him before he could move his player in the spot needed and I kept using the same INSIDE Slant on him where he was pulling his LB from....Guess what, he quits after being down 14-0...

So over the past two days my feedback has gone from 95% down to 93% and I don't see it changing anytime soon unless I stop playing these scrubs.

I am at 89 percent, but if you get hit with 2-4 in a row from sore losers, its going to affect it a tiny bit. Its just the nature of the beast.

Yep, yep. Same thing. It's why my smiley is yellow. If I beat you, but you tried every cheese known to man to beat me - it's a negative. Consequently, for a while many people on the boards refused to play me, but I'm slowly gaining sim friends.

I'm getting to the point where I just play almost anyone, too.

My face was at yellow. I had to give underserving positives to bring it back to green.

My last game the guy quit before the half. I was up 21-0, and he tried to convert on 4-10 on his 26. Quit when he got sacked. Surprisingly, he left positive feedback.

I expected you to be cheesy when we played cuz your rating. But, I was pleasantly surprised, it ended up being a very good SIM game.

You should re phrase that as " I am killing my feedback by playing lobby scrubs"

You know better and you know to expect that from lobby scrubs so your pretty much bringing it on yourself.

I just don't **** around. Mother****ers come out playing me like they do tonight and I block every FG they try, run my QB whenever I get a chance, whatever I feel like. It's not fun to play that way, but it's even worse what happened tonight.

I'm giving up this game for a while. It's giving me a damn ulcer. Tonight I played this guy two games in a row. He has Harbaugh at QB. Two games in a row he gets every lucky break you can. I had like five penalties, had like three uncalled pass interferences, I fumbled, and with time running out he had two 80+ yard lobs with HARBAUGH to win the game. Not to mention Otto Graham throwing five INTs five feet from the damn receiver.

So yeah, it's just too frustrating. I'm done for a while.

and now you know why you shouldn't judge people based on their feedback rating.

Yeah - it's to the point that I've considering intentionally letting my XBL account expire and buy an new one. It's lame - I don't want a new gamertag. :( But the feedback system, despite good intentions is far too easily abused. Rather than weighting feedback heavier for people with more unique ratings, and allowing positive to beget positive, it's just gotten ridiculous. That's what I was in favor of having Slashcode's Karma system, but instead we got this.

Slashcode is simple: by default you have to seed the system with people that have a certain number of "points" to hand out. Points can either be used positive or negative. As you play more games, and presuming you have good Karma, you get points yourself to hand out. The better your Karma, the more points you have available to hand out.

Works beautifully. The griefers don't get any points to hand out - until they start behaving themselves. As I said - it allows positive to beget positive. If I come across a griefer, I can quit, my record will be impacted, of course - but odds are they aren't going to mess with my feedback rating because they have been griefing others as well.

The system then becomes more accurate. The only real downside is that as your Karma gets higher, then a person can turn and become a griefer and do some serious damage. Although that's a real possibility, it's very unlikely - a person tends to remain true to themselves. They may change behavior for a short amount of time, but they tend to go back to the core of their being if left unchecked.

Oh - side note. I have a string of 10 negatives given me. I haven't cheesed any of them, finished all of them. They cheated, I didn't. I couldn't in good conscience give any of them even a neutral, so now I too have a yellow smiley next to my name. :(

Rating system in this game works fine. Is it perfect? No, but if you know what to look for as far as win's, losses, quits and disconnects along with how many games they played, you can pretty much tell who plays legit and who doesnt. I am fine with playing anyone with about a 70-75 percent and up i will play. Hell, i am still holding steady at 89 percent. I dont play as often as i used to though.

Another thing this game is a year old now, people mostly know in the lobbies who is legit and who isnt anyways.

I look at the feedback that is given out by the player themselves. This was the case last night. A guy in the lobby had a 91% fdbck rate but gave only a 69% rate to others...so looking only at his 91% rate you would think he rates others a little bit higher. Not so. I have a 90% rate but have rated others at 79% overall, i have also rated others 100 more times than i have been rated myself. So take a look first.

It's not that great of a measuring stick. I have played guys with 90%+ feedback who played cheesey as hell.

This is what I do.
I don't take immediate request when I enter the lobby, because I'm looking over their record not displayed.

So it takes me a little while before I enter a game.

That's how it used to be, but now it's to the point in the lobby where there's only a couple guys to choose from and they always seem like they have that mid 70 feedback rating.....

I always wondered how those guys at the top have so many games in, RobSlayer and a couple other guys have over 1200 games in..Now I know I play this game way to much and I have 400 in, but they are playing these lobby scrubs in quick matches and the scrubs quit on them before the 1st qtr is over because they know they don't stand a chance...

But anyways back to the feedback topic.....I always try to play someone that has atleast 200 games undre their belt....but when you are sitting in the lobby for 10 minutes and there's no one to play...desperate times call for desperate measures...so you end up playing someone that has a feedback rating in the 60's and 70's.....I played one guy the other day who quit on me midway thru the 2nd qtr after I was up 21-0, I left him a neutral only cause he went to the quit screen and quit like that...I end up getting back and he left me a negitive....I see him back in the lobby and he says I used an out of position sub because I had Rod Woodson playing free safety......He then goes on to say that he would kill me with his real team...The team he used the first time had a created 5 star randy moss...he real team was identical except he had James Lofton instead of Randy Moss...anyways same story that game 28-7 was the final...Anyways this guy is in the lobby again yesterday and he challanges me again...This time it was a little closer during the first half, but I ran away with it in the 3rd qtr and won 31-14...He decided not to leave feedback that time...but I figured, heck if I play them once and they leave bad feedback, they can't do it a second time, so no biggie if I play them again and run the score up on them...by the way, this guy that I was playing the last three games with..his name was Buzzsaw

LOL....I played that moron the other day. He quit in the first quarter when he was down 21-0.

He told me the same thing he told you "that I was lucky he didn't use his real team" :rotfl:

I'm still mad I got knocked back down to a 96% the game after I moved up to a 97%. In all honestly I should be at 100% but sore losers are sore losers. I've even been catching guys in the 90's that do some shady stuff.

I understand this post extremely. My last 5 games were like 2 negatives and 3 neutrals. A friend gave me a negative for Abusing Exploits, then dropped me from being his friend. This dude has Rice and Sayers on his team with Cunningham at QB. If Rice was doing the double post fade or Sayers wasn't catching Screen passes, then Cunningham was running for about 10 yards A pop. Not pleasurable to play, but I gave him Positive anyway.

This other dude zMercDogz was at %100 feed. I figure lets do it. He quick snaps, moves his DEs over the center and likes to run Otis Anderson from Tight formation out of Weak I. The game was 17-16 me. He has the ball at like my 17 yard line with 16 tics left. I have 1 timeout and it's like 3rd down and 2 yards to go. He runs sweep from Weak I tight formation to the left. He gets around his tackle and my CB and OLB are converging on him. He musta got nervous or something, cuz then he laterals the ball backwards and I recover it. I run the clock. 17-16 me. He leaves me Negative... Just a horrible opponent. I leave him positive. He messages me cursing and what not... I see him in the lobby about a week later and his feed is like 79%. Mine went from 97 to 94 now.

I caught zMercDogz when he was in the 90's and I've also seen his rating continue to drop. He loved the triplets formation and motioning the WR every down on me. I've had to drop some guys on my friends list after they picked up some shady play calling. Crazy how easy it is for your rating to fall but how hard it is to get it back up.

Finally made it back to 97%. Though I'm waiting for the next person that quits to drop me back down..... By the way your 2k rating is not just for All-Pro but for all 2k games Yes or No?

Stop playing for about a month.

That's pretty crappy if it resets your record to zero, just because you haven't played for a month. RobSlayer showed up (in the lobby) once with under 20 total games for his record a month or so ago and I knew he had played way more than that.

Welcome to my world. Try playing someone that wants to run either deep outs or double-moves on you, so you stack your entire secondary in deep zone, getting pick after pick, getting quit on, and rated Neg, abuses exploits. :(

Apparently stopping a high-powered offense is cheating.
