Abner Mares to face Gerry Penelosa

**** YEAH MAN!! Mares is probably my favorite prospect and he's stepping up finally. Only problem is if he wins the WBO belt, he can't unify with Hozumi Hasegawa, who is by far the best Bantamweight in that division. Hasegawa is probably one of the best fighters in the world too.

Regradless of Hasegawa, Mares-Penelosa should be a good fight. Anyone else a Mares fan?

As huge a fan I am of Penalosa, I think he should have retired after defeating Vorapin earlier this year. He's already proven his point by coming out of retirement, winning a title, and having a couple of quality defenses. He doesn't have much left (if anything) to prove. Better to leave the ring too soon than overstay his welcome and get hurt in the process.
