This is a hard fight for me to call, because I like both fighters, and think eventually either one could rule the lightweight division. Katsidis came close to knocking out Casamayor in his last outing, coming up short and getting kayoed himself in the 11th(?) round. Diaz lost by a wide margin to a much older fighter in Nate Campbell. I'm gonna have to pick Diaz by UD, but if the loss to Cambell plagued Diaz in any way, I could see Katsidis scoring a suprising kayo victory over him as well.

Katsidis by UD.
I like the suspense Katsidis brings to the ring. He either knocks you out or goes out swinging. I would like to see him get the ko, but Diaz has a good chin so, I dont see it happening. On the other side, I like Juan's all action approach in the ring, I just would like him alot more if he had better power. It should be a very competitive fight, with alot of fireworks.(I hope)

Yeah, Diaz is an all-out action fighter... I don't think I've ever seen him in a bad fight. I just think Katsidis is the better boxer, technique-wise. Granted, Katsidis has been KOed before, and that's the most likely way I can see Baby Bull winning. If he doesn't put him down, though, I think he'll be hard-pressed to beat Katsidis on the cards.

What an ending to Juarez/Barrios!!! Juarez looked like **** for the first 10 rounds, and is lucky Barrios got tired.

You see Barrios' face after the fight, though?
He had a freaking flap of skin hanging from the right corner of his mouth!
As for the Katsidis/Diaz fight... I guess I called it wrong. I was expecting the pressure of fighting in front of his hometown to push Diaz into carelessness but it looks like I didn't give him enough credit when it comes to ring maturity. Good job for him. Katsidis, on the other hand, was sorely disappointing. It didn't even look like he had any plans of unloading on the smaller Diaz. What a waste of all that power.

Anyone else thing those judges were retarded??? How they hell could that fight be close..AND SOMEONE ACTUALLY GAVE KATS THE WIN  I had it 11-1....10-2 at best.

Katsidis isn't really a boxer hes a brawler....he kept trying to push him to the ropes but they never worked. His trainer is a retard though....He actually thought he won the fight :rotfl:

Ridiculous. I had it 11-1 myself, and a shutout wasn't out of the question.
But there was bad scoring going on all night. I think in the Juarez-Barrios fight, two judges had Juarez winning by 3 points while the third one had it tied through the 10th round. And that's taking into account the 2 points deducted from Juarez for low blows! There was no way Juarez was leading by those many points before he managed to get the TKO unless there was some "home cooking" involved.

I agree. Those judges needed some glasses because there is no way that Katsidis won 7 rounds of that fight. One judge had him actually winning 115-113. I had it 9-3 for Diaz, and that's being generous to Katsidis. The judging in boxing is a joke.
You can also blame Katsidis' corner for not giving him the right instructions. There was no sense of urgency from the corner for Katsidis to step it up and try to get Juan out of there. His corner actually thought he was winning the fight. Wow.
Juan fought a good fight. He outpunched Katsidis and stayed off the ropes and kept the fight in the middle of the ring, and he slowed Katsidis down with good body work. Diaz isn't a banger, but he hits hard enough to keep a fighter honest. I think that Katsidis thought that he would just use his power and knock Juan out, and when that didn't work, he had no plan B. Good win for Juan.

Yeah, the fight needed to be stopped, but Barrios's face was a result of him running out of gas. Barrios faught a good fight up until the 11th, and was blowing Juarez out(imo). You see how the judges had that fight scored at the time of the stoppage? Those guys need glasses!!
The Katsidis/Diaz fight was a good fight, but wasnt close at all. Katsidis' cornermen are retards. They were telling him he was boxing beautifully. Huh??? Katsidis, I thought won 3 rounds, and when he would actually exchange with Diaz I thought he did well. He seemed to have plenty of energy left in the final rounds, and I dont understand his gameplan at all. I think he was expecting Diaz to tire, which is a pretty dumb way to fight Juan.
