"It was an expensive lesson, though with his youth and earning power, Mayweather could find a way to replace $7 million, and then some, with three simple words.

Fight Antonio Margarito.

Of course, with three simpler words, he could have kept this from happening at all.

Safe deposit box."

There are other fighter's in the world that made a lot of money in boxing. But I havent heard of seen anyone that carried themself the way Floyd has shown us on those HBO series. Some say it was all for show while others say it's really him, One thing for sure I don't think any fighter should carry themself like Mayweather.

^This Guy Steele was right on the money about this one "Too much bragging can never be good.....for ANYONE. This just confirms that notion I think"

I don't think that fight would cover it....Him vs Pacquiao could though.

Why wouldnt it? Floyd was offered 8 million to fight him 2-3 years ago!! You dont think Margo's stock has risen since then? I bet he'd make 12-15 mill easily now(imo).

Why is anyone surprised at this? The guy gets on HBO and flaunts his lifestyle and even boasts that he keeps a $Mil in his closet. He's an idiot, and he's lucky that he wasn't home because you never know how a home invasion could turn out. I guess he's not mature enough to know that when he's on TV throwing thousands of dollars around in his home that he may be putting him and his family at risk to potential criminals. And you can bet that whoever did it was someone he knows and a so called "friend" to him. Those are the guys that you have to really watch out for. He really needs to grow up.

True, but HBO usually announces how much each fighter makes, and every boxing site known to man post articles on what a fighter makes.

Well, we all know that athletes in general make a lot of money, but does the world have to know that Floyd keeps a million bucks in his closet? Does the world have to know that he carries thousands of dollars on him? It's things like that that put him at an even greater risk of being robbed or even killed for his money. I'm all for enjoying your life and your money, but you also gotta be smart about things in this day and age. This guy is 31 years old, not 17, he needs to be an adult and use common sense. That's all I'm saying. I've seen guys that have way less money than him get robbed and killed just for showing off their wealth. It's just not a good idea in today's society. If he had some real handlers instead of yes men, they'd talk some sense into him before he gets himself or his family killed.

Good points, I understand your point of view, and agree with it. What I dont understand is if Floyd is so rich, why is he dumb enough to have suveillance/security at his home. If you own valuable stuff, you protect it right? Thats why I think the whole thing is funny. Its like having the best stereo in town, flaunting it, and then leaving your windows down, and your alarm off.

Post, First and foremost, If I had money like that I would be protected like I was the president...lol Armed guards at the house, Bodyguads when I go outside...I would be untouchable, He probably was robbed by one of his so-called friends....I remember seeing his HBO special, I was thinking to myself, What an Idiot!!! You never, ever, brag on what you have----Do you know how many "HATERS" are out here in the real world??? And, don't forget you live in this very same world I'm speaking of...Be thankful for what you have and don't ever forget It can all be taken away just like that

I think you guys are a little off base. People have been flaunting their wealth for decades. Anybody ever heard of Lifestyle's of the Rich and Famous? That show used to come on in the 80's. MTV Cribs, any of VH1's Lifestyle of the Rich and Fabulous specials, and any reality show TV show with any celebrity. All of those people flaunt their wealth. Just because Floyd was one of the few that happened to get robbed you're saying that he deserved it. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, the man is a little flashy, but the bottom line is nobody deserves to get robbed, period.

Fakeweather is not going to fight Margarito, he always ran like a little wuss he is fighting likes of Baldomir
and Zab Judah instead of real Fighters, he did Beat hatton, but we all know Hatton is not that good and was fighting at weight class that's not for him.

he probably gonna come back and fight DLH again ..i mean i see his point i would not fight Margarito either, but don't run your mouth about being Best ever and disrespect all Fighters who do not duck real warriors.

Antonio would rip his face off, and if he would not rip his face then rip his ribs off, but he would never fight Margarito he is too much of a wuss, Cotto to me is a better fighter then Fakeweather and has my respect.

again what we saw tonight was another BS,

Fans pay lots of money to see the fight, after a fighter holds for 20th time, you would expect for a ref to warn him, but no...holdfest continues, i mean comon now did anyone watch Hatton Maggilagi?
it was like wtf is going on no word from ref? shame on them for letting funs down..Pauli complaining about Knockout record on his loss..well if he would have warned you or take point of you after maybe your 40th hold..you would not be able to hold anymore and would get knocked out anyway.

fans are biggest losers lately because of Hold allowance, there is got to be a limit to how many times fighter should be able to hold.
