additions for season II:
1) CONFERENCES/DIVISONS

Per el greazy's suggestion, we may, depending on the number of teams, align teams in divisions for playoff considerations. I will not restructure the regular season games so that each team plays their division opponents two times, one home and one away (too much work).

2) RESTRICTED ABILITIES ADDITIONS

I erred in the ability restriction area. Brownster14 also has a restriction for Branching tackles and Stamina. We will add these to the restricted abilities list.

3) BANNING THE HOT CORNER ROUTE

We are banning the hot corner route (using the outside WR) for NFL2K8.

4) PUNTING RULES:

We will reuse Brownster14's punting rules which simplifies punting decisions to a 'yes' or 'no'.

Rule 1. A team may go for it on 4th down and inches at any time in the game, whether they are leading, tied, or trailing.
Rule 2. A team may go for it on 4th down and 1 yard if they are past the 50 and inside their opponents territory, at any time in the game, whether they are leading, tied, or trailing.
Rule 3. A team may go for it on 4th down and any number of yards if the line of scrimmage is on their opponents 40 or less.
Rule 4. A team may go for it on 4th down and any number of yards from anywhere on the field if they are trailing in the 4th quarter by any amount.
Rule 5. A team may go for it on 4th down if it's the end of the 2nd quarter and time will expire on the last play.
Rule 6. A team may go for it on 4th down regardless of yards to go or location if it's under 2 minutes in the 4th quarter.
Rule 7. A team must punt the ball or kick a field goal if it is 4th down and Rules #1 through Rule #6 do not apply.

with the 3 ability + CAP restrictions, we should be fine with straight legend

I agree just wanted to know.

any gold back in leagues is brutal but it is what it is.

Changed my mind I'll be Cleveland

I like this idea. I'll take my Jets.

May I throw out another suggestion? how about limiting 5 ability caps in general, to 1st team All-Pro Players. Pro Bowl Players can be 4 attributes...and a non pro bowler who is still one of the 2 best player on the team, 3 attributes.

Just a thought.

league play is pre patch, so let's keep this at 3 abilities (some gamers only have the capability for 3 abilities). glad you could join.

I want in on this. I'll use any team but if I can, I'd prefer to take the Cowboys mainly because I already have a team with uni's ready to go. If not, I can use anyone else.

the Hitman league rules apply (Just a few edits):

Game play:

1: Sportsmanship is a must. If your up big than run the ball and don't run the score up at all.

2: Replays are limited to 3 a half unless your opponent doesn't mind.

3: If you lose to some shady gameplay please take a day to reflect on it when your not so upset before you call someone out or send me a complaint. I will not consider your issue unless a day has passed.

Substitutions:

O-Line are interchangeable

D-Line are Interchangeable

LB are Interchangeable and LB's with a Pass Rush Attribute like Sack Master or Pass Rush can play DE in Nickle and Dime Packages.

CB, FS, & SS are all interchangeble and can play any secondary position.

RB's & FB's are interchangeable. FB's can play as TE ala Chris Cooley.

TE's can only play at TE & WR

WR's can only play as a WR

There no 2 way players allowed at all so don't ask.

PUNTING RULES:

Blitzing:

1: 5-2 Middle LB Blitz is legal since it can be countered. Shotgun Formation, Flat to RB, Slant pass, Max Protect with RB's staying in to block, PA roll outs can counter this blitz well.

2: Secondary players blitzing can be done as much as you want as long as you are not manually controlling them at anytime during the blitz.

3: LB's can be used manually to blitz but can not move closer to line of scrimmage than they are already automatically set at.

Defensive Lineman:

1: You can use any D-Lineman but you can not use the DE to run a stunt and come in untouched at all. This is a known glitch in the game.

2: You can not move a D-Lineman manually at all whether your moving him off the line or back and into coverage before the snap of the ball.

3: D-Lineman special moves like Swim, Rip, Club, Bull Rush, and Spin are allowed and are encouraged for you to use since it is part of the game.

Motion Running:

1: You can use motion running as long as the guy you motion clears the end of the line whether it is the Tackle or TE.

2: You can not hike the ball unless your guy has cleared the end of the last person on your O-Line.

Bump Man 2 Man defense:

1: You can play this as much as you want.

2: To counter Bump man you are allowed to put your WR in motion and can snap the ball only when your WR is set 100% to get off the bump like a real NFL team would do. You do not have to wait for the CB to be set but you must allow the CB to at least get in front of the WR.

3: You can also motion your WR off the line of scrimmage to get him a free release off the line by him backing off of the LOS.

Screen passes:

1: You can not run one way and throw back the other way on a screen pass because the camera will be cut off to the point where you can not see the RB to manually cover him.

2: You are allowed 3 screen passes a half so use them wisely.

WR routes that are questionable to many players:

THE HOT CORNER ROUTE IS BANNED IN THIS LEAGUE

We are banning the hot corner route (using the outside WR) for NFL2K8.

1: Out Routes, Middle post, Double move post should all be used in moderation. I will not ban these routes because there are ways to defend everyone of them even if you like it or not. If the out route and the hot route fade pattern is all your opponent has in his offensive arsenal than you should be able to defend it pretty easy. If you need help learning how to defend these plays or plays that work against them than let me know. Here are a few.

Defending the out route:

1: Shade your CB's to the out side in man 2 man.
2: Cover 2 Hard for short out routes with your CB's shaded to the outside.
3: Cover 2 soft for the deeper out routes with your CB's shaded to the outside.
4: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

Defending the Middle post:

1: Hot zone your safety to cover the middle of the field.
2: Hot zone your ILB to cover the deep middle.
3: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

Defending the Double Move route:

1: Cover 12
2: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

All of these issues are not as huge if you have a pass rush.

Banned plays:

1: Cadence

2: Bunny Hopping

3: Switching defenders in a Flickering kind of way as fast as you can to confuse blockers.

4: Kickoffs can not be kicked off to the side of the field to stop return man from getting to the ball at all. If you don't want him to return it than kick it out of bounds without it hitting the ground. You must kick it down the middle, slightly to the left or right.

5: Punting can not be punted short for the purpose of a muffed punt because you can not take control of your player to stop him from going for the punt.

6. No quick snapping allowed.

7. You can use the QB punt, but you must decline any roughing the kicker penalties.

League issues

1: You can not quit for any reason at all.

2: If there is an issue with game play contact an admin a day after your game has passed.

3: No negative feedback can be given at anytime.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

IF YOU CANNOT PLAY AT LEAST 3 GAMES PER WEEK AND FINISH ALL 16 GAMES, PLEASE DO NOT JOIN!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

the Hitman league rules apply:

Game play:

1: Sportsmanship is a must. If you're up big than run the ball and don't run the score up at all.

2: Replays are limited to 3 a half unless your opponent doesn't mind.

3: If you lose to some shady gameplay please take a day to reflect on it when you're not so upset before you call someone out or send me a complaint.

RB's & FB's are interchangeable....FB's can play as TE ala Chris Cooley.

TE's can only play at TE & WR

WR's can only play as a WR

There no 2 way players allowed at all so don't ask.

4th Down attempts:

1: 4th down and 1 or less can be attempted any where and at anytime during the game no matter the situation.

2: 4th down in between the 30 & 40 or your opponents side of the field is the gray area of the field where it is too short for a punt and too long for a FG attempt. In this situation you can go for it no matter how far the distance for a 1st down is.

3: 4th down no matter what the down and distance, when you're down 21 points or more or behind in the 4th quarter.

1: Out Routes, Hot Routed fade pattern, Middle post, Double move post should all be used in moderation.

Defending the hot route fade:

1: Man coverage on your strong side CB
2: Hot zone your Safety to a low zone.
3: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

League issues

1: You can not quit for any reason at all.

2: If there is an issue with game play contact an admin a day after your game has passed.

3: No negative feedback can be given at anytime.

Amid in my rules I added that you can play your FB at TE like Chris Cooley and many other FB do in real life. Up to you if you want to keep it.

1: Out Routes, Hot Routed fade pattern, Middle post, Double move post should all be used in moderation.

Defending the hot route fade:

1: Man coverage on your strong side CB
2: Hot zone your Safety to a low zone.
3: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

The league has launched so let the games begin!

Remember your 'at least 3 games or more per week' commitment this week and every week.

Even though injuries are turned off, you may have a player get injured. You must finish the game without him, but let an admin know to 'reset injuries' so you will have him for your next game. NFLHITMAN and DTRAIN have admin rights so you should be able to get a hold of one of us.

The league web page is here:

It's just a game, so win or lose... relax and enjoy the competition.

Leagues fail because they don't progress quick enough and/or guys drop out and do not complete all their games.

NFL2K8 will be a league for active SIM players. We will drop those who do not keep up and finish all their games. Finishing all 16 games and playing the games per the schedule is a requirement to play in NFKL2K8 season II.

I hope, win or lose, you are enjoying the competition! I am.

Play at least 6 games by next Sunday, the28th of September

Yea its pretty sad if your a Lions fan but it has been that way since Barry Sanders retired. Even when Barry was there they hardly ever saw the playoffs. The Lions need a brand new regime from top 2 bottom starting with Millen and the ownership. If its been this bad for this long even with all the different coaching staffs that have been there than the front office needs to be changed and more control given to the coaching staff. Lions need to bring in some Leaders off the grid iron. I think if the Lions hired on guy to be there Coach and give him total control than that team would turn around just by his mind set. Mike Singletary should be considered the Head Coach because he will hold player responsible. bring in Steve Mariuchi back as Offensive coordinator and have Singletary only worry about the Defensive side of the ball and to have all personal descisions. Lions do this than they would make some noise.

If Holmgren had the WR's the Lions do not many defense's would stop them from scoring. As a defensive player in Free Agency why wouldnt you not want to come to the Lions and play for Singletary?

Anyway........ Your bronze DE would be better if he had a line move like Rip instead of just pass rush.

LOL Seriously man, I was completely befuddled by it. Even when I know where the guy is going and try to close up the gaps my guys are just whaffing out there. Part of it has to do with me missing tackles (another rarity) and part of it I think has to do with my LB builds. Zach Thomas & Greg Ellis are too slow while Demarcus Ware is somehow being swallowed up by scrub lineman and FBs.

I still have a long way to go for the season, so hopefully we'll get our shtuff together, if not, I'm going to have to go a little more aggressive on offense.

LOL, if he's too slow Tomlinson is a freaking snail. Ellis outran LT2 for a 90+ yard INT return. That was just insane! Thomas is sluggish, but your Greg Ellis played like a silver in our game, not a bronze.

Oh yeah! That was nuckin' futs!

Well, I should correct and say: Ellis is slow on his initial explosion or start up, but he is a truck when he gets all his momentum and speed going. It's just his lack of reaction which is killing me in the run.

league rushing is fairly annoying. You just have to look at the season averages for who ever you are facing. I look at their yards per carry and If I hold them under that Im happy. So far Ive held my opponents RB well under his average.

Good lookin out Amid

Damn I gotta remake my entire back field, they break too many rules LOL (I'm still legit though for anyone thinkin im just trying to exploit the game)

Actually maybe i can get some input from people i'll be playing.

This is my backfield as is:

Michael Turner (BT, SB, Power)
Jerious Norwood (SB, QF, CB)

As the rules state one of them has to lose speed burner. I was thinking of just replacing it with BAB but for who? I feel like both are legitimate speed burners
(I mean Michael "THE BURNER" Turner duh)

And on of top of that Turner can't keep BAB and BT so which one do people think he is more deserving of? Whichever one i ax I'm going to replace it with strength

Any input is appreciated.

could you give one or two more players closing speed??? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
You like that? Am I under the rules? Not one player has Speed Burner when many deserve it but I dont think a Bronze WR in Matt Jones at 6'5" with speed burner would be fair. Now I have heard many complaints about speed burner, route god, and more but Closing Speed complaint?

If I remember correctly you can put anyone you want on the team at any tier level and any attributes as long as you go by the Attrubte Rules. 5 player out of 11 with a speed attribute LOL and one is MJD with BAB. WOW!!!!!!!!

Matt Jones ran under a 4.4 at the combine
Rashean Mathis is a great CB with great closing speed. If you think he doesnt watch the NFL Replay of the Colts game and how fast he breaks on the ball.
Reggie Nelson at the combine was the fastest safety with under 4.4 40
Fred Taylor at the combine was a 4.3 40

I am doing you a favor by not giving the offense except MJD a speed attribute. The offense in this game is way over over powered and against the run your OLB's play best if they have Closing Speed.

I was thinking my offense would be a Bunch Formation every down with Fred Taylor running out of it ;)

I was thinking my offense would be a Bunch Formation every down with Fred Taylor running out of it ;)

personally, I could care less, never accused you of breaking any rules, because you haven't just thought you had imagination, but you answered that when you said they play their best with that one attribute, and that is up to you, and besides i wont have room to talk i plan on bringing the run and shoot back to tampa, going 4 wide from the shotgun every play!!!!

ESPN insider from scouts.com

Matt Jones WR 6'6" 218

Comment: He's a former first-round draft pick who had limited production in 2007. He's a natural athlete with very good size and good vertical speed. He still needs work as a route runner. He does not appear very refined or polished considering where he was drafted. He has problems dealing with press coverage. He shows limited hand use and footwork to defeat jams and get into routes. He has good long speed, but doesn't show much burst coming off the ball initially. He can sink his weight to get in and out of breaks, but doesn't do it consistently. He will round out of some breaks or cut early to avoid defenders. He can make very athletic adjustments to the ball. He's better with high adjustments than low adjustments. He doesn't always attack the ball with both hands and looks non-chalant at times. He has had several drops this year showing a lack of concentration. He's a big target in the red zone on fades. He has also been good on slants. Overall, he needs to be more consistent with his routes and needs to concentrate to receive more playing time this coming year.

Rashean Mathis CB 6'1 190

He is a good, athletic CB with very good size and speed. He is a smooth and fluid athlete with quick feet and good body control. He has good man-to-man cover skills and reacts quickly to routes with good ability to recover, if he has to make multiple flips. He has long arms and can disrupt the release, when in press coverage. He can swivel and accelerate with good timing of the flip. He has good burst and acceleration with enough recovery speed to make up ground. He does a good job matching breaks and mirroring downfield. He also has good reach and timing for breaking up plays. He is athletic with his adjustments to the ball to tip passes away or intercept. He has enough speed to remain tight versus speed receivers on vertical routes. He will use leverage to the sideline and is strong enough to match up versus bigger receivers. When playing zone, he has good balance in his back pedal with quick feet to gain depth. He usually doesn't stay in his pedal long before opening his hips. He has good timing to flip and run and he makes speed turns look easy. He will come up and give effort to support, but is more of reach and grab tackler than a hitter. He has success making runners adjust or slow down with his ability to close quickly. He's a good solid athlete who has size and speed to match up with the more talented receivers in the league.

Fred Taylor RB 6'1" 228

Last year was his ninth season. He has good overall size with very good vision and instincts. As an inside runner, he has good vision to read blocks with subtle moves to find the crease. He makes good decisions as a ball carrier. He can time up his moves with a nice stutter cut showing good body control and balance at the hole. He still has good foot quickness in a tight area, but his overall burst from the cut is descending. He shows average strength and power to break tackles. He does a good job finishing forward with body lean or spin moves. He doesn't break tackles like he used to, but secures the ball well. He is missing top burst for hitting the cut back. Once in the open, he still shows good speed to finish. He has adequate hands as a receiver, but not great. He will usually try to body catch to secure, but has dropped several balls that were catchable last year. He can settle quickly versus zone, but is missing suddenness after getting turned up field. In pass pro, he has good awareness with adequate strength and balance to take on, or chip and release. Overall, he is a naturally instinctive runner who continues to be productive despite age and injuries.

MJD RB 5'7" 208

He is a second-year player who is undersized, but is also very tough and has good play speed. He is productive in the running game, passing game as well as returning kickoffs. He has good vision as a ball carrier with good acceleration. He runs with a low center of gravity and has quick feet. He can make multiple cuts and shows good burst to accelerate from the cut. He is strong through the lower body and he has good balance and body control for yards after contact. He has good foot quickness for making quick cuts in a tight area with a burst to accelerate or change direction. Between the tackles, his low pad level allows him to hit small creases. He can hit the hole quickly, while avoiding big shots because he runs low to the ground. As an outside runner he bounces it quick to the corner or to a cut-back opening and has good speed in the open field. As a receiver, he has good hands. He is a small target, but does a good job adjusting and is quick up field after the catch. Once in space, he has finishing speed and good vision. In pass pro, he takes pride in being physical and has good awareness. Jones-Drew does a good job delivering a strong shot while showing good strength and balance.

Mike Peterson ILB 6'1" 238

Peterson missed six contests due to injury, but still managed to finish second on the team in tackles. He is a very productive MLB who has good instincts, speed and toughness. When playing the run, he shows good quickness to read and react. He does a good job making proper reads and has a good feel for play-action. He has a burst to his movements and can fill quickly. He changes direction well, showing enough quickness to slip offensive linemen and get in on tackles. If engaged he has adequate strength and hand use to play off contact. He is inconsistent with getting rid of blocks quickly when teams run at him. Peterson will give some ground in an attempt to shed. He has above-average lateral quickness. He can get to the corner quickly versus outside runs. He has good burst to scrape and fill. Plus, he usually provides good wrap on tackles. In coverage, he shows good range. He has the range to get good depth in deeper zone coverage without losing separation. He has good movement skills in zone drops with the ability to make quick reads on the QB. He can flip his hips while maintaining good vision. He has shown the ability to read QB's eyes and make subtle adjustments to take away route angles in zone. After the ball is away he still has good speed to close and tackle. He is agile enough to break down versus quickness, but also has a closing burst to arrive with some power when the target is pinned down.

Reggie Nelson FS/SS 5'11" 202

He was the starting FS for 15 games as a rookie. He has adequate size with very good speed and range. Nelson has good overall route recognition and reactions. He is an aggressive player, which will get him out of position at times. In run support, he's not involved much near the line of scrimmage. The Jags usually leave him in the backend where he uses good closing angles to provide support. He covers ground quickly when in pursuit, but is inconsistent with his break down to tackle in space. Nelson has missed tackles when he arrives high. He has adequate success going low and will try to take the legs out of bigger ball carriers. In coverage, he has very good movement skills and burst. Plus, he is quick in transition and has good burst to close. He will round some angles, but he has enough recovery speed to make up ground quickly. He is fast enough to flip and accelerate giving good help to CB's over the top. He does a good job reacting to speed receivers from the middle of the field. He has good reactions to seam routes or crossing routes when playing halves with the ability to arrive with excellent timing and explosion. He has adequate ball skills and locates it quickly in the air with his eyes. He is athletic enough to adjust and make plays on the ball, but he also likes to be a hitter and will look to make big hits rather than play the ball. He closes fast and appears to have good hands. He developed confidence quickly as he gained experience and has unlimited potential for the future.

Justin Durant OLB 6'1" 232

Durant is a WLB Jacksonville drafted in the second-round last year. He is a good overall athlete with quick movement skills. He plays with a high level of effort and energy. He has experience playing MLB and WLB. He shows good ability to read and react playing the run. He fills fast with quick feet and good body control. He has a burst to his movements. He is a little inconsistent with his overall hand use. He has shown the ability to punch, separate change direction quickly off of contact. He is quick enough to run in front of blocks and he can breakdown to gain good wrap on tackles at the corner. If engaged with offensive linemen, he will get jerked. He covers ground quick in lateral flow and shows good acceleration. He has good range and effort to chase and pursue. In coverage, he is still developing confidence with his reads. He will be quick to jump play-action and can be sucked into traffic quickly. He has good quickness to recover when not engaged and he can make up ground versus RBs in the flat. After making zone drops, he is quick to jump routes. He hasn't developed solid reactions yet and will lose leverage on receivers settling behind him. He will be physical with tight ends in man coverage and uses his hands to grab at breaks. Durant can be good at providing pressure as a blitzer. He has a feel for timing and hand use versus RBs in the backfield.

Daryl Smith OLB 6'2" 242

He is normally the starting WLB, but he will also play MLB if someone is injured. He is a good overall athlete with good instincts. He is aggressive with his reads from and will step up quick to defend inside run plays. He can play off contact with adequate hand use, but will get straight-legged once engaged. Smith has enough strength to get off blocks, but is better when he utilizes knee bend. He has had some problems dealing with low blocks and will get chopped or cut too easily at times. He shows good acceleration in lateral flow. He can get to the outside quickly and has good change of direction to react at the corner. He shows adequate strength to stack a TE. Smith does a good job positioning himself to contain and prevent plays from bouncing outside. He also shows good strength taking on lead blocks with good balance after contact. He has an adequate burst in space, but will overrun a tackle versus quick change-of-direction runners. When defending the pass, he has good shallow awareness. Smith is quick to read the QB and close on shorter routes in front of him. He does a good job playing square and forcing receivers to adjust their routes around him. He has good overall awareness in coverage, doesn't panic and is athletic enough to get to the ball quickly.

Reggie Williams WR 6'4" 212

Williams has good size with good athletic ability and speed. He has trouble releasing from a physical jam. He will be late to work his hands and feet to clear jams. He accelerates well for his size when he gets the free release. He can get up to speed quickly in the stem and he runs his routes with good tempo. He has the ability to create separation. He can stick the break and come out with good burst. He has good athletic ability for making adjustments to the ball. He is a little inconsistent versus high throws, but he has the ability to leap and extend. He has shown good concentration on skinny posts and can finish with good vertical speed when he catches the ball in stride. He will run hard up the seam and has been able to maintain possession after taking some big shots from the safety closing from the inside. He shows good toughness and concentration to make big plays. When working underneath, he has enough size for the quarterback to locate him quickly. He has some strength to fight for yards after the catch and finish forward. He does a good job in the red zone of settling in the soft spots. Overall, he can create big plays, but doesn't get a lot of touches each week. He's a good athlete with good size and speed.

Drayton Florence CB 6' 195

Florence is a five-year veteran who always has shown a lot of promise, but something is missing. He split time on the right perimeter last season and wasn't bad, but he's still a half-step away from being a quality NFL starter. He has a very good combination of size, speed and agility, but he seems to suffer from brain cramps and will hesitate too often at the wrong time. He lacks ideal hip fluidity, but he can turn and run pretty well with speed receivers and occasionally shows a bit of recovery burst when he loses a step. He isn't much of a playmaker when the ball is in the air, and he misses some interception opportunities because he lacks good ball skills. He consistently loses a step against receivers who can make a hard cut without telegraphing their route. He lacks great technique, getting too high in his pedal and often losing a step in transition. Florence hasn't developed as quickly as hoped.

Question: do we have to use uniform codes that have already been established?

I feel like no one elses falcons jerseys are better than mine, so I'd like to use my own set up. I think I'm gonna go with the 91 color scheme. Either that or the 80's red and silver.

Matt Ryan should at least be a silver but I ran out of silver spots.

So Shock got the nod.
And in all honesty I wouldn't even know how to create Matt Ryan. Shock was easy, he's got a cannon for an arm and that's about it.

I know it probably looks bad with both golds in the backfield but I'm more into creating accuracy than I am into creating dominant players. And the falcons currently have the best run game in the league so that was my focus.

I'm not even sure why I feel the need to explain this but I have a good football knowledge not really a good all-pro knowledge. So even with that set up I won't be blowing teams out. So don't get discouraged by the line up.

I'll play anyone ahead of time if you want to see how I play. Or just check my rating and feedback.

Good question nykia. grrrilla you are good to go. This league permits you to pick the guys you want (from current NFL rosters) and give them the abilities you want (per team build guidelines). I am retiring...

I have nothing left to prove, so im walking away...

With college, work, and football practice I do not have as much time as I use to. And with this game being a year old now theres nothing I can do that I haven't already done.

I was ranked as high as #3 in the game. I had an account that was 44 - 0, till it was deleted. I had beaten every top 20 player in the game. But I would like to be remembered for what I did in the second half of my All Pro Career. I won the mostive competitve SIM league championship in this game, Dynasty Legends. I want to thank every SIM player I played for making me a better SIM player. Sorry if I ever offended you, that was just me being me. I really did take your comments seriously. I adjusted my game little by little, where now I am almost a Heavy SIM comapred to being a light SIM.

I will finish out DL8 Playoffs. I play JUIC3D 3 this week in the quarterfinals. Each game could possabily be my last but i am going for a John Elway finish with back to back Super Bowl wins and leaving on top.

schemer, if that is what you meant, that is not what you said. retirement means you quit. you said you are walking away, but would play your DL8 playoff games until you lost. not sure how anyone could have thought any different.

My bad man.... I thought you was askin me to join with the Bears... so I started modifying my team. I didn't realize you were saying join the current league. That's why I didn't sign up lastnight. I can join as soon as I get home tonite, around 6:30pm EST..... I'll be able to play games until about 4am EST.

Selvin Young is a beast in this league. I don't know what Funky Rez is feeding that guy because that run game is nearly unstoppable! Big kudos for that.

schemer, if that is what you meant, that is not what you said. retirement means you quit. you said you are walking away, but would play your DL8 playoff games until you lost. not sure how anyone could have thought any different.

no loop holes to get you out. (not trying to get leeroy out, he is 10-0) i already beat you in our one game. we enjoyed having you in our league and you are welcomed back next season.

no im not coming back and im done with the game... I never said take me out of this league or that im quiting, you just implied it by what I said. I am finishing out my leagues 2k8 and DL8. But you kick out your most active member who was ranked #2 #3 whatever with his season almost over and kick him out before the playoffs and say your welcome back next season?

Even if I wasn't retired you really think I would want to come back after your taking all my work away on your own power??? It's messed up theres no way around it, I was way past the requirements for the week and you felt the need to jump in and take me off before I could respond to your PM. Isnt it possible for someone who is busy in college to go with out xbox live for 2 days?

The whole thing is BS

Honestly, I don't think many, if anythign needs to be made. I've been able to hold most running games to respectible yardage and it's been nothing like the onslaught of run yardage I've seen in other leagues. IMO, the 3 Ability system & Ability limits are more than enough to balance out the field.

Sorry, not to get my nose in other business but.... I understand where you're ****ed but I recall reading your "retirement" thread and you didn't state anywhere that you were going to finish your 2K8 league games, only DL9. Either way, oh well, it's not my beef but based on that it's not unreasonable for amid to take what actions he did.

na the league members should speak out on this. I only posted that thread 3 days ago and last night was the first time I got on live since to see I had been removed with a message from TJ asking if I wanted to be relplaced. He sent in on live but no message on 2k fourms which i check everyday? Seems like he was really quick to react.

What gets me is how he hasn't even offered my team back to me. Its clearly a mis communication by my thread i made. Like im going to put all that work in on my patriots team and not finish going into the playoffs. I wanted to finish out my leagues. It's like he dont even care what I did for his league he wanted me out. There's no other explanation. He never talked to me and I never said replace me or im not finishing out 2K8.... end of discussion.

Not in the league, but Schemer did "retire". TJ isn't trying to be a d*ck or anything. He was trying to get his league finished. Whether right or wrong, he did what he thought would help the league.

no no no, i was the most active player in the league at the time and had set all the offensive stats in the league leaders.

And with the playoffs 2 or however many games away why would I quit the league after all that work?

My point I never did. I made a post about retiring from DL9 and told TJ I wanted to finish out my leagues, which is only DL8 and 2K8...

Schemer, now you're nit-picking. You know you meant you were "retiring" (I hate that term), and you're trying to find a loophole to make TJ look bad. Now, I'm not being biased here, because I like both of you guys, but Schemer, TJ only did what he thought would help the league, because he thought you "retired". He didn't do anything wrong.

I do think you should be given your spot back, but booting you because you "retired" isn't wrong.

schemer i have read your post over and over, and to me i would have thought that you were done with the game period. now with that being said t.j. could have touched base with you before replacing you, but if you did not mean that you were retiring from 2k8 then why make the post? If this was just for dynasty legends, that really was not a necessary post, you could have just pmed hitman, or just not signed up for dl9, i could see both of you being wrong in this place, but to be honest I don't see how amid could give someone your team, and basicially a free pass into the playoffs, that is not fair to everybody in the league, this probably should have been put to a vote

amid
October 5th, 2008, 07:05 PM
because his spot has been accepted by another forum member (whi hasn't retired from the game). schemer's spot wasn't taken from him... he game it up. you just want to argue killah... go read his RETIREMENT announcement again slowly (there's no big words in it) and tell me honestly what it says. HITMAN gets it. IT IS OBVIOUS what it says. (I retire from the game but will finish out my DL playoffs... my next loss in the DL playoffs will be my last game ever... that's what it says)

i agree that after that statement i assumed that he was done with the game as a whole, and i think that when he wrote he may have been, so i understand why you thought that he was done, but to give someone else his team and record was not fair to the league, you basicially gave someone a playoff spot for playing half the season, i think what should have been done was to just leave the league as it was, and at the end forfeit all of his games, dont think you should have given his team away.

lies, go back to the first time I said WTF for dropping me. And then look at my retirement thread date... 3 Days??? Your right, it was day after day after day and then I responded, and note this was sent on xbox live and NOT a pm on the forums...

You keep getting logical about what "retire" means but yet ignore what I say when I talk "logically" about my thread. How do you know what I am retiring?

"Every game could be my last"

What game? Every DL game could be my last?? That makes more sense

The fact I told you as soon as I got your message I wanted to finish out the league and didn't give me my spot back and THEN gave it to someone else... Like they said it isn't fair to the league members for someone else to take my work and get into the playoffs on a silver spoon

no problem, tough situation and not sure i would not have done what you did in a attempt to keep the league going, but to give that person a almost guaranteed playoff spot was not fair, not that it matters to me, because i wont sniff the playoffs, but would hate to see someone play all their games and be on the outside looking in. that is all but good league and i will get my game in either tonight or tomorrow.
