2K Sports today announced that MLB® Stickball, an exciting, fast-paced, multiplayer game that puts gamers against each other to see whose team can win a classic game of stickball, is scheduled to be available on the Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on October 8th.

In MLB® Stickball, gamers can buy and collect packs of Topps “Big Head” Major League Baseball cards. Each time a pack is opened, those players are unlocked and added to each Major League team to play!

Part of the fun of stickball is the custom rules for each city, just like the rules kids create when they play in their own neighborhoods! MLB® Stickball can be played on the streets of a number of big cities, including New York, San Francisco and Boston. In addition to scoring runs in the stickball game itself, there will be objects scattered throughout each environment that serve as targets or hazards for the batter. Smack the ball off the fire hydrant and get it to spray water into the street and your team will be richly rewarded; break a window, though, and you’re out!

I absolutely agree, they should make it free for anyone who bought MLB 2k8. They definitely owe us.

Doesn't look like it will be free though.

nah i might though.. nice 2K..

BUT this is just another reason the MLB staff is above their heads.. why does 2K put out like 5+ baseball games, and not focus on just a couple..

All-stars 2K (DS) - horrible put together pos
The Bigs- might not return
MLB 2K- please focus on the sim version baseball please.. this needs some work update player pics/stadiums, new game mode etc
Wii Baseball- forgot the full name of it..

i believe there are a couple more also.. but they should really just focus on what they have instead of making new games just because of the MLB liscense

Can we play others online with it?

I can muster up something for my DRSSL guys that missed out on online baseball this year if it's able to play other online.

yea it is.. i bought it.. its a good arcade game.. and can get competitive at times .. i just beat this guy 9-6 in a ranked match Brewers vs Phillies..

you have 1 superstar for each team.. like the Brewers have Fielder, and than 3 other guys that you can choose from (power hitter, power pitcher, great fielder, contact hitter, and a couple more) but they all have some special ability and they all have downfalls..
they also have this mode called "The Tour" and i havent really tried it out but im guessing its like a mini franchise mode.. where u play every team once
ranked matches are 6 innings long..
any other ?'s ill tell you

correct, but you can unlock more MLB players as you go...

oh you can.. sweet.. that makes it a lot better.. i like the generic guys too though.. its interesting having to pick people like that..
how do you unlock them ? Is that what Tour mode is for ?

You unlock the other players with points you earn throughout the corse of a game (online included.) 50 points buys a pack of 3. There are 4 pros for each team (so if you unlock every card you wont ever have to use the generic ppl unless you want to.)

Online is 3, 6, or 9 innings.

I would highly reccommend baseball/stickball/whiffleball fans get this game. For an arcade game, it's actually pretty fun and the best part of all you can play other people online-- if it weren't for that I probably wouldn't have gotten it.
