Dynasty Legends VIIII Sign ups!

Its time for another installment of Dynasty Legends SIM League.

There will be a few differences made this season. All my CAP RB's have had Workhorse and Branching tackles removed in an effort to tone down the amount of Broken Tackles along with how over powered the Run game in league play is. In addition to this Earl Campbell will be banned from league play from now on since most agree he is way over powered and all though he was a great RB he was never better than some of the other great RB's in NFL History.

Offensive Lineman in my CAPs list has been changed in a way to get more use out of the least used players in this game. You can make any of the CAP Offensive Lineman a Gold, Silver, or Bronze pick. You can give them as many attributes as you want is the list given on each one. Obviously this means if you can create a Gold Offensive Lineman with 5 attributes than do it, 3 if you cant, 2 if Silver, and 1 if Bronze. In real life football you cant do anything without a O-line to protect you.

We will also have an additional feature that is optional to make the game a little more fun. We will have a DL9 Fantasy football draft after the regular draft. More will be explained about this in post below. This is optional but if would be fun.

This is a SIM league with a players draft. You will be able to draft any players you want except Earl Campbell off my list of CAPS or players in the game. The draft will start this Saturday 27th at 4pm pst. on the 2k forums. You will be required to make your picks or send a list of players to me or anybody you trust to make your picks for you. You will have 5 minutes when you are On The Clock ( OTC ) to make your pick or be skipped. If you are skipped you can catch up on your draft picks when you can but if I dont hear from you after a few rounds you might be out of the league. Make sure you let me know if you cant make the draft. If you draft a player off my CAPs list you must make them exactly the same as his height, weight, and attributes that are listed. YOU CAN NOT CREATE YOUR OWN PLAYERS SO DON'T ASK. There will be a random draft order that will be create by a Random Draft Order Generator and the draft order will be reversed after each round just like a fanstay football league. You can draft anyone and any tier at anytime during the draft if your OTC. You do not have to draft your Golds first in fact the most savy and experienced drafters go for there bronze players first since you need more players in that tier than the others.

I need your email address so when the draft order is generated it sends you a email verifying the results and I can't use the draft generator unless I have a valid email for everybody. League Rules updated 8-7-08

Game play:

1: Sportsmanship is a must not an option in my leagues. If your up big than run the ball and don't run the score up at all.

2: Replays are limited to 3 a half unless your opponent doesn't mind.

3: If you lose to some shady gameplay please take a day to reflect on it when your not so upset before you call someone out or send me a complaint. I will not consider your issue unless a day has passed.


Substitutions:

O-Line are interchangeable

D-Line are Interchangeable

LB are Interchangeable and LB's with a Pass Rush Attribute like Sack Master or Pass Rush can play DE in Nickle and Dime Packages.

CB, FS, & SS are all interchangeble and can play any secondary position.

RB's & FB's are interchangeable

TE's can only play at TE & WR

WR's can only play as a WR

There no 2 way players allowed at all so don't ask.


4th Down attempts:

1: 4th down and 1 or less can be attempted any where and at anytime during the game no matter the situation.

2: 4th down in between the 30 & 40 or your opponents side of the field is the gray area of the field where it is too short for a punt and too long for a FG attempt. In this situation you can go for it no matter how far the distance for a 1st down is.

3: 4th down no matter what the down and distance is when your down 21 points or more.

Blitzing:

1: 5-2 Middle LB Blitz is legal since it can be countered. Shotgun Formation, Flat to RB, Slant pass, Max Protect with RB's staying in to block, PA roll outs can counter this blitz well.

2: Secondary players blitzing can be done as much as you want as long as you are not manually controlling them at anytime during the blitz.

3: LB's can be used manually to blitz but can not move closer to line of scrimmage than they are already automatically set at.

Defensive Lineman:

1: You can use any D-Lineman but you can not use the DE to run a stunt and come in untouched at all. This is a known glitch in the game.

2: You can not move a D-Lineman manually at all whether your moving him off the line or back and into coverage before the snap of the ball.

3: D-Lineman special moves like Swim, Rip, Club, Bull Rush, and Spin are allowed and are encouraged for you to use since it is part of the game.

Motion Running:

1: You can use motion running as long as the guy you motion clears the end of the line whether it is the Tackle or TE.

2: You can not hike the ball unless your guy has cleared the end of the last person on your O-Line.

Bump Man 2 Man defense:

1: You can play this as much as you want.

2: To counter Bump man you are allowed to put your WR in motion and can snap the ball only when your WR is set 100% to get off the bump like a real NFL team would do. You do not have to wait for the CB to be set but you must allow the CB to at least get in front of the WR.

3: You can also motion your WR off the line of scrimmage to get him a free release off the line by him backing off of the LOS.

Screen passes:

1: You can not run one way and throw back the other way on a screen pass because the camera will be cut off to the point where you can not see the RB to manually cover him.

2: You are allowed 3 screen passes a half so use them wisely.

WR routes that are questionable to many players:

1: Out Routes, Hot Routed fade pattern, Middle post, Double move post should all be used in moderation. I will not ban these routes because there are ways to defend everyone of them even if you like it or not. If the out route and the hot route fade pattern is all your opponent has in his offensive arsenal than you should be able to defend it pretty easy. If you need help learning how to defend these plays or plays that work against them than let me know. Here are a few.

Defending the out route:

1: Shade your CB's to the out side in man 2 man.
2: Cover 2 Hard for short out routes with your CB's shaded to the outside.
3: Cover 2 soft for the deeper out routes with your CB's shaded to the outside.
4: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

Defending the hot route fade:

1: Man coverage on your strong side CB
2: Hot zone your Safety to a low zone.
3: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

Defending the Middle post:

1: Hot zone your safety to cover the middle of the field.
2: Hot zone your ILB to cover the deep middle.
3: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

Defending the Double Move route:

1: Cover 12
2: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

All of these issues are not as huge if you have a pass rush.

Banned plays:

1: Cadence & Signal Stealer

2: Bunny Hopping

3: Switching defenders in a Flickering kind of way as fast as you can to confuse blockers.

4: Kickoffs can not be kicked off to the side of the field to stop return man from getting to the ball at all. If you don't want him to return it than kick it out of bounds without it hitting the ground. You must kick it down the middle, slightly to the left or right.

5: Punting can not be punted short for the purpose of a muffed punt because you can not take control of your player to stop him from going for the punt.

6. If you use a QB punt you CAN NOT accept any roughing the kicker penalties at all!

7. No Quick Snapping allowed at all! You must allow your QB to squat and take a few seconds after that before you snap the ball.

8. New Rule that I forgot to add from a couple seasons ago. Just so you guys know that when you are drafting that if you draft a player with the Signal Stealer attribute you can not use it in this league. No matter how SIM you will try and spin it you can not tell me that if a QB looked at your Defense he would know exactly how it will be lined up for each and every person. It even shows you the hot route if someone does it. You are the QB of your team and it is up to you to know what your opponent is doing on Defense or Offense not what a computer can show you. Film Room is where you would get that kind of ability and APF film room is in the practice mode not pressing the B button to get an advantage. IMO it carries the same weight as the Cadence does so it will not be allowed to be in this league. If you feel that it is an absolute need for you to you succeed you might want to try a new league than.

League issues

1: You can not quit for any reason at all.

2: If there is an issue with game play contact an admin a day after your game has passed.

3: No negative feedback can be given at anytime.

1st ever APF Fantasy Football League!

Wanna have some fun with the league even more? How about a All Pro Football 2k8 Fantasy league? Do you want more fun in your league and competition? Do you think you have more football smarts in APF2k8 community? Do you have the skills to draft the right player from the right teams to get you the points to win? Let the APF Community know that not only your better in the DL9 league, but in Fantasy Football smarts also.

This is how it will work. First you finish your DL9 team, after the draft is complete, we will use the same same draft orders in DL9.
For example I will draft NFLHITMAN's QB and hope he scores points for me. The whole offense player fantasy point system is the same thing(QB,WR,RB,TE,FB.)

Offense score: QB, WR,TE,RB,FB point system are......

Every 10 yards = 10 points
Every TD = 7 points
Every FG/XP = 3 points/1 points
Every Int Thrown = -1
Every Fumble = -2
Every FG = 3
Every FG beyond 50 yards = 5

Defense score: Individual points are......

Every Secondary Int return and ST = 3
Every Linebacker Int return and ST = 5
Every Fumble Return TD = 7
Every Int = 2
Every Forced Fumble = 3
Defensive Shutout = 50
Defensive holds opponent to 9 points or lower = 20


This is optional but would seem pretty fun and adds another aspect to the league. A game inside a game :) minh will be calculating all scores daily and posting the up to date standings. You will get to choose 1 QB, 1 RB/FB, 4 WR/TE, K, D/ST. Best strategy is to pick someone who plays a lot of there games :) This is a brand new idea so if you have some suggestions on this let us know.

You are welcome to return as long as you go by the rules as posted. You did a great job in the early issues in the season by clearing them up so just stay on track with becoming a SIM player.

NBA 2K9 is going to be hot this year and I want this game more than Gears 2 or Left 4 Dead

I can tell you that when Street Fighter IV comes out early next year, this game is taking a permanent dirt nap...Nobody can touch me in Street Fighter or any 2-D fighting game (Samurai Showdown, Guilty Gear, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Fatal Fury, Capcom vs SNK, etc, etc.)

Its not that I dont want to play because I do.....its just that I cant devote the extra time needed to make sure I get the requisite amount of games needed. On top of that all the article work is going to be overkill especially this time of the season

I must be the only one who isnt overly excited about NBA 2k9. The game hasnt really advanced in 3 years outside of signature style.

I wasnt all too crazy about 2k8, and I absolutely detest NBA 2k online.

With attributes being taking out of some CAP, what about adding some more CAPS in the HB position and OLB's? I would like to see more variety since we cannot use some of the attributes, what about adding players and attributes? Just a suggestion. On another note how come there aren't any OLB with coverage attributes?

There was starting with OLB's like George Webster, and Joseph Fortunado. I added a couple more OLB with coverage bonus but we just dont add anybody at anytime because I need background on a player with proof to go on my CAPs list. You have until Friday to post a player you think should be added. Remember they need to have played in the NFL and is retired now. Give proof of the Tier if above Bronze and Proof of the attributes you think they should have. New players are added all the time by Gamers suggesting or by NFL Film I watch on NFL Network on players.

Just examples, there are some CAPs who have attributes no longer accepted in the league, can they be replace? Jack Ham for example is a gold OLB but his last attribute is signal stealer we can't use it anymore why not give him another attribute? Same with other cases with CAPS on your list as well. HB's with branching tackles. What about other legends who may have the attribute like branching tackles is not accepted anymore how can you verify the attribute is not being used? All I am doing is pointing things out since there is a flaw, thats all.

Thanks for letting me know of some I missed on changing. No OLB has Signal Stealer now and no RB have Workhorse or Branching Tackles. Those attributes have been replaced with different ones.
