So NFLP 3 is heading into the final week so I want to get things rolling to limit downtime the off-season.

So why join the NFL Performance League? With the folding of NSL... this is THE PREMIER NFL Simulation league out there. We are not just a standard league but we are the ONLY ONLINE FRANCHISE LEAGUE!!!

NFLP is the only league that features:

- Player progression/Regression based on season stats
- "Rookie Draft"- Read a scouting report and draft a player. Simple.
- Off-Season Trades - Want to get rid of your Gold CB for a Gold WR. You can do it!
- Balanced Schedule - Just like the NFL for league "parity"
- We also do end of season awards and Pro-Bowl Voting
- ***NEW*** Player Aging Guidelines - this new feature will actually add on years to an NFL player and may eventually force them off of your team!! As you age you can no longer progress to silver or gold levels an dthe older you get the harder it is to stay gold/silver, lose physical abilities, and skills!!!

CAPs must be approved by me and follow strict guidelines

Here is a list of WRs that can get Route God W/O ability progression (only SILVER/GOLDs can get Route God):

Chad Johnson
Steve Smith
Reggie Wayne
Marvin Harrison
Hines Ward
Isaac Bruce
Terrell Owens
Tory Holt
Larry Fitzgerald

Guidelines for Speed Burner to save us all time:

DBs/WRs - < 4.4, 4.45 (closing speed/BAB)
RBs - < 4.45 (4.5 possible BAB)
LBs/TEs - < 4.5 (4.55 closing speed)
DEs - < 4.75
DTs < 5.0

To get BOTH Speed Attributes players MUST meet 40 yard dash component AND meet Madden Speed/Agility guidelines which are position specific.

Guidelines for Leadership
- Must have served as team captain at some point in their NFL careers [need link/proof]

- For NFL players with <4 yrs experience AND NFLP Created Rookies: Must have progressed from BRONZE/SILVER to GOLD during tenure with team NFLP Team. This leadership is lost once they are traded to another team .

Guidelines for Clutch
- Must have scored an TD (offense/defense) or forced a TO (defense) in a AFC/NFC Championship game or Super Bowl or else has scored a TD or forced a TO in the NFLP Performance Bowl.

What attributes/combos are banned?

Workhorse + Speed Burner
F&P (unless you are 3 star gold)
Branching Tackles for Gold RBs
Only 4 out 5 between Speed Burner, BAB, Quick Feet, Cutback, & Finessee

Seems complicated?

Not really...Only thing you have to do is draft a rookie and play at least 13 leagues games in a month. You don't have to trade if you don't want to. I'm the one that figures out the player progressions/regressions and player aging! All you gotta to do is enjoy the best NFL League.... the only one where performance matters.

NFLP 3 Members please check-in and if you have/once you have completed 13 games you are guaranteed your spot. YOU CANNOT CHANGE TEAMS UNLESS YOU FIND SOMEONE TO SWAP FRANCHISES.

You can't change franchises unless you get someone to switch franchises with you. This is because you can't trade away players and jump ship or bail out on a team because of regression.

So only way you can pick up the Panthers is if a new owner picks up the Cowboys.

They were a former NFLP Franchise so the past owner made some trades. Here is their roster..

Cleveland Browns

HB - Jamal Lewis
TE - Kellen Winslow Jr.

Silver-
ILB- D'Qwell Jackson
SS - Sean Jones
??- ????????

Bronze-
QB - Derek Anderson
WR - Craig Davis
WR - Joe Jurevicius
CB- Charles Tillman
OLB - Kamerion Wimbly
CB - Lewis Andrews

Bench-
Bronze- OLB - Willie McGinest
Bronze- CB- Eric Wright
Bronze- QB- Brady Quinn
Bronze- CB- Brandon McDonald
Bronze- WR- Donte Stallworth
Bronze- DE- Corey Williams

The league is taking shape.

It looks like we have 13 returning members, 7 we have yet to hear from, and 5 potential replacement owners/expansion teams. If everyone returns we can run a 24 team league.

Also I updated the 1st post to detonate which teams have been used in NFLP to make it easier for you guys.

Just a reminder after the sign-ups have been complete ALL new information on NFLP4 and official league matters will be handled over at 2kfootballstrategy.com

Here's the guideline/progressions and play aging system for everyoen to look at:

Here they are!!! These are what we're slated to use, but I'm open to any feedback especially if you guys compare it you other completed leagues you have been in (I just used NSL season 3 as a guideline).

----------------------------------------------------

Player Progression Guidelines

There are two types of progressions in this league:

1) Automatic Progression
- Anytime a player breaks an NFL season record listed below the player MUST BE ELEVATED to GOLD status.

Official NFL Season Records
--------------------------------
RB - Season Rushing Yards = 2105
RB - Rushing Season TD's = 28
RB - Total Season TD's via Rush&Catch = 31
QB - Season Rushing Yards = 1039
QB - Season Passing Yards = 5084
QB - Season Passing TD's = 49
WR - Season Yards = 1848
WR - Season TD's = 23
TE - Season Yards= 1344
IDP - Season Sacks = 23
IDP - Season Interceptions = 14
Punt Returner - Season TD's returning punts = 4
Kickoff Returner - Season TD's returning KO's = 4

- Any time a player ranks in the Top 3 in ALL relevant categories, the player MUST BE ELEVATED to GOLD status:

QB – ALL categories + INTs < 20
RB – ALL categories + TDs > 10
WR – ALL categories + TDs > 10
TE – ALL categories + TDs > 8

- Any time a BRONZE player meets GOLD player guidelines, the player MUST BE ELEVATED to SILVER status.

2) Optional progression – if you earn the guidelines set you can move you player up a tier the following season if you choose:

Statistics of Relevance:
QB: Passer Rating, Completion %, Yardage, TDs
RB: Attempts, Yards, YPC, TDs
WR: Receptions, Yards, YPC, TDs
TE: Receptions, Yards, YPC, TDs

-----
Offense
-----

Silver: Any 3 or – QB Rating: 100.0 or better, Completion %: 55% or better, Yardage: 2500 or better, TDs: 25 or better AND MUST HAVE INTs LESS THAN TDs
Bronze – Everyone else

RB Standards
Gold: Any 3 of carriers: 200 or better, Yards: 1300 or better, YPC: 7.0 or better (minimum 100 carries), TDs: 15 or better AND AT ALEAST 10 rushing TDs or Top 3 in the league in rushing yardage

A player can only move up 1 tier per year (so no bronze to gold) UNLESS

(2) Ranks in Top 5 in 3 categories + stipulation

Regression
Regression is NOT optional, it is mandatory.

Gold players regresses to silver if they DO NOT meet 2 of their tier standards OR

QB – more INTs than TDs
RB – Are not their teams leading rusher, 5 or more fumbles, or YPC < 5
WR - Are not their teams leading receiver*, 10 or more drops, or YPC < 15
TE – Are not their teams leading receiver*, 10 or more drops or YPC < 13

If a Gold player does not meet Top 20 standards or hits one of the guidelines THEY MUST BE DEMOTED to silver.

(*unless there is another Gold WR/TE on the team)

Silver players regress to bronze if they do not meet AT LEAST 1 silver standard:

QB – Throws > 25 INTs with more INTs than TDs
RB – Is not their teams 2nd leading rusher, 5 or more fumbles, or YPC < 5
WR - Is not their teams 2nd leading receiver^, 10 or more drops, or YPC < 15
TE – Is not their teams 2nd leading receiver,^ 10 or more drops or YPC < 13

(^ - unless there is a player of a higher/equal tier, if there is than if they are not their teams #2 receiver, unless there is a 3rd player of higher or equal tier, if so then if player is not #4)

----------
Defense
-----------

Progression

Player Ability Guidelines

---------
Offense
---------

QB
- Laser Arm - The QB must have a completion percentage at or above 60% the previous season.

RB
- Workhorse - The RB must have at least 250 carries over the course of the year (average of 15.6 carries per game). A true workhorse in the NFL carries the rock 20 times per game.

WR/TE
- Route God - Must have 1500 yards for 2 consecutive season AND meet gold or silver standards.
- Soft Hands - Must have fewer than 8 drops at the end of the season.

---------
Defense
---------
Sack Master - Must have at least 9 sacks
Ball Hawk - Must have at least 3 INTs or 15 coverage plays (INTs+PD)

------------------
PLAYER AGING
------------------
As of NFLP4 NFL players will have +1 years added to their 2008 NFL season. NFLP5 will be +2 years, NFLP 6 +3, etc...

1) Any gold or 15 year vet that regresses to bronze through mandatory regression - MUST retire regardless of YRS of experience

2) Players with 7 years or more experience CAN NO LONGER progress after they have REGRESSED by optional or mandatory regression.
RATIONALE: After 7 years the player has likely reached his potential

3) Players with 10 years or more CAN NO LONGER PROGRESS NO MATTER WHAT and regress when Golds do not meet 3 out of 4 statistics (instead of 2) or Silvers (2 instead of 1) or 2 for defense legends (instead of 1).
RATIONALE: after 10 years players must worker hard to maintain performance.

4) Golds @ 12 years = 4 abilities, Gold @ 14 years 3 abilites
RATIONALE: The older the player gets, the fewer things they can do that they did in the past.

5) Physical Skills decline = No Speed Burner > 12 years, No BAB or Speed Burner > 14 years
Hops and strength are gone @ 14 years
RATIONALE: Self-explanatory

Schemer picked the NY Giants...

We have 13 returning members + 5 replacement/expansion frnachise.

So if you're a returning member reply so we can get things rolling. If you're a new member it looks like you're a good bet to possibly get a spot as a replacement as we have 7 owners so far that are AWOL.
