I just got the game nba 2k9, i was playing it, and i wasnt able to throw an alley oop, i dunno if they changed it from 2k8 or what? i wanted to ask some of the ppl who may have the game already if they had ne luck with the alley oop, if so, how to do it? i press LT + A n its just a regular pass every time.. so some insight would be appreciated. tks:)

Alleys should be pretty easy--maybe not as "cheesy" as in the past, but still easy to do.
Put it this way: I wasn't too good in pulling off alleys in 2k8, but on the demo, I got a steal and was going 2-on-1 with Rondo with the ball. I pressed the same controls as last year (don't remember off-hand what it is), and PP caught and dunked it.
It's the only one I tried, though...

Its L trigger and pass but its case sensitive so you have to do it in the right time

i think is the same, you just have to actually have an open look for the oop in order for it to be pulled off

i run a pg-pf pick and roll play with rashard lewis and nelson... the alley oop works frequently if the timing is correct as someone stated earlier
LT+A

i stop alley oops with 2-3 zone easily YAO sticks his hand up or artest jumps to defend it . Then i throw a alley to yao at the other end and he jumps 6 inches off the ground and dunks it in lol

try to send an alley oop on back door or on fastbreak, alley oop are much more realistic this year so yes they are a bit hard to pull don't give up when you see anopen player cutting to the basket try it  btw on ps3 it is L2+x so I think on xbox it's LT+ the pass button A go on it's rare to see a dude who has difficulties and doesn't flame the game cuz of it :thumbsup:

just don't hold down turbo when you pressing the Trigger button and the pass button. If you hold down turbo, they'll just execute a fancy pass.

You have to pull both triggers and hit A, while somebody has an open lane to the basket.

Don't even bother using the alley-oop unless you are on a 2 -on- 0 fastbreak...lol

it depends on whos catching the ball also. I've played a few games with the suns online and Grant hill is wide open running to the hoop and he jumps for the ball but has yet to ever catch it. Same thing with Diaw he cant catch to save his life in the game but Shaq and Amare Stoudemire catch it almost everytime.
