i keep reading that people say the pc version of nba 2k9 is a 360 port, but what is a 360 port? and also will the game support widescreen resolutions? my lcd monitor goes upto a max resolution of 1440 X 900. i had issues with nba live series on pc back in the days, they didnt support any widescreen resolutions so im hoping 2K will.

I wouldn't touch PS3 one because PS3 console cost twice more than X360. And PC is almost 2-3x cheaper than PS3 and x360 game. Xbox360 should be better quality than PS3.

All ******** except first. PC is def NOT cheaper than console and who said 360 has better quality than PS?? The game looks the same on both consoles.

Ok now to answer your question cause the two clowns above me did'nt.
A port is basically a copy.
So if you play Nba2K9 on 360 it will basically be the same as the Pc version. When a game is developed from the ground up for whatever system it uses key features of that set hardware to take advantage of the game.
Nba2k9 ( Xbox 360) is the lead platform so Ps3 version will be ported ( copied) from the 360 version.
Now the PC version is a port from the Ps2 version!
They are selling the Pc game for $19.99, there's a reason for that

It has no Online Modus and Living Roster, that's the reason why it's so cheap!!
The PS2 won't have it, too!!

Are you an idiot? The PS3 doesn't cost twice the amount of Xbox 360. And even if you're talking about the poor man's console aka Arcade for $199, once you get a hard drive, wifi(if you want it), xbox live membership it's virtually the same price as PS3.
Not to start console war because whatever system you own, good for you, but don't talk act like the PS3 is $600 and it's 2007

In terms of cost of a pc and ps3 and 360 they can actually be all relatively the same.
I was deciding whether to get a pc/console and weighed the pros and cons. Personally, I like the PC for first-person shooters or real time strategy games (nothing beats a mouse and keyboard...its just way more precise than analog sticks).
Anyway, If I bought a 360 or PS3 they came out to be around the same price including extra fees for the 360. PLUS, I would want an HDTV for my room which run from $800 - $1200 for a decent size screen. Adding that, it comes to be about what I paid for a new computer (quad core 3.0ghz, ATi Radeon 4850, 4gb ddr2 1066, 750gb HDD, P45 motherboard, case, and a 22" 2ms Samsung monitor 1680 x 1050).
So, in a way, buying a console or pc can be around the same price...
