I was wondering what the 2K8 equivelent of 2K9's speed be.... I wanna try to make some adjustments to the way I play, and since the game doesn't come out until Tuesday, I'm gonna have to tweak 2K8. Any help with this would be appreciated.

I don't think it's possible to compare the two. They both handle very differently. It'd be like trying to compare driving a dirtbike to an ATV. Also because the inside game and iso-motion handle so very differently there's no combination of settings that's going to get you prepared for 2K9.

I'm not really worried about the intangibles... I'll deal with them once I have the actual game... I just wanna know what speed 2K9 is.... in comparison to that of 2K8.

That's what I'm trying to tell you. It isn't comparable. It's faster in some places and slower in others. Post in this thread when you get a copy of 2K9 and tell me what you think. It's really an impossible task to equate the two.

I moved the speed up to around 65 and put the camera view on Showtime, and it played a lot like the demo, but I did notice what you're saying about being faster in some places than others.... I'm guessing that's because of the spacing/iso changes they've made to this years game..

Ahh well, I was just bored and lookin to try and get an early jump....lol I can wait 2-3 more days though. =).

I can't tell which is faster. I went to play 2k8 demo and then back to 2k9 demo and i notice 2k8 is a little more responsive. Doesn't seem to bother me even though i want the speed to be faster.

Yea the game speed in the demo seemed perfect to me. Like dude stated it's very hard to compare 2k8 to 2k9 they feel entirely different.

Yeah the online videos really don't do the game justice. I think the game speed is flawless. The only problem is that compared to 2k8 it feels like I'm driving an 18 wheeler. I can't get guys to do what I want them to do. I'll reserve my final impressions on this until I get the game however. Last year I played exclusively with the Nuggets, so comparing Iverson, Smith, and Carmelo to Rondo, Allen and Peirce is just... well wrong.

I've noticed that the spin moves seem to be a LOT quicker... and you tend to see them a lot more than you see the traditional crossovers. I've yet to see a behind the back crossover dribble... from myself or the cpu. I do agree with all of you that the 2k9 speed is excellent... that's a major part of the reason I wanted to try and emulate it in 2K8. Ahh well, I'll have this beast of a game in 24-48 hours tops.

the Game speed is perfect in default. Ive been playing the the full game since thurs. Hoever some jumpshots are very slow including kobe bryants and the finesse type post moves. Hopefully these can be sped up or altered with a patch. Let me know if you have any questions

Agreed spin moves seem to be very effective to the point of being abusable. I hope this isn't the case.
