View Full Version : Post Moves are TOO DOMINANT

Like last year, I pretty much could get an easy score any time I wanted with Boozer. Now I'm playing the demo, and I thought I'd test out Garnett. I went 8/8 posting up with him by the end of the quarter. And NOBODY double teamed. I guess we'll have to adjust this in sliders, or you could do it yourselves before releasing the game. (By the way, difficulty level rarely changes this in the past, so I doubt it does this year.)

You play 2k8 on HOF and you play 2k9 demo and you tell me what difficulty you think 2k9 demo is on... it's obviously on one of the easiest settings.

Hey guys, learn how to read before posting in my threads. It's a prerequisite. Difficulty settings RARELY change shot percentage in the post. The offensive player can STILL back him down, can still do a turnaround, and his shot goes in at the same clip.

from what i can tell on the demo few of the cheese post moves from 2k8 are on 2k9 such as the quick pump fake auto dunk i think is game will be the most sim bball game to date really im just glad that you cant just easily crossover to the hole for an easy dunk

We read it. We just didn't pay attention to it because you're incorrect. Difficulty has and always has affected post shots greatly. If you're using guys who had high close range in the post and 73+ mid range (like Boozer), obviously you wouldn't see a difference.

You're using Kevin Garnett, who has one of the highest mid range shots at his position. He's going to make those turn arounds regardless, because that's his game.

I've gone 5/5 from 3p with Derek Fisher in the demo. Keep telling yourself the lowered difficulty doesn't matter in regards to certain shots being made.

I agree 100% with this dude

Kevin Garnett doesn't make 100% of his post shots. I realize he is one of the best, but he still is NOT that good.

Yes, they DO make their post shots at the same rate in HOF as they do in rookie. Are you saying that your percentage dips as the difficulty raises? That's completely untrue. Last year, I was doing a similar rate with Shawne Williams, who I could back down with anyone for an easy score. This and the give&go were my constant go-to moves for a reason: they ALWAYS WORKED. The defensive AI raises with the difficulty. But once you get the AI in the post, they do nothing special regardless of difficulty level.

But I guess that's not true either then, is it? I must have been playing 2k8 in my dream and these problems didn't exist.

Your example of Fisher is hilarious. Is that supposed to prove that percentage dips as difficulty level raises? You can still go 5/5 in HOF mode. You don't actually know whether or not it changes, do you, you just want to be an *** in my topic.

For the record, everyone knows the post was pretty dominant last year, so that really doesn't help your argument at all. Most could make shots in the post regardless of difficulty, unless you were using Jerome James.

Are you saying that your percentage dips as the difficulty raises? That's completely untrue.

You clearly must be new to 2K basketball games then. And if 2K8 is your only example, you can't claim anything to be untrue.

The higher difficulties affect two things, mainly: your ability to shoot and A.I. responsiveness. This has been the case for YEARS. Again, the post overall was dominant last year and needed a lot of tweaking. That really had nothing to do with difficulty level, as they tried to open it up and make the post easier to use for people (if you've played any game prior to 2K7, you'd know 90% of the people online didn't use the post... ever). The drawback was, the post became TOO easy to use.

Turnarounds in general were money last year.

Your example of Fisher is hilarious. Is that supposed to prove that percentage dips as difficulty level raises? You can still go 5/5 in HOF mode.

You can go 5/5 on HOF only when he's hot. Try going 5/5 whenever you want (using the lowest difficulty) and then talk.

You don't actually know whether or not it changes, do you, you just want to be an *** in my topic.

Umm, yeah actually I do know. Sorry.

I wouldn't be too worried about people making too many jumpers/hookshots in the post this year. They left certain moves in 2k9 that were also in 2k8, most people didn't know how to do them, so it wasn't a problem. Now, since we're going to have a manual that shows how to do these, you're going to deal with a bit more than you expect this year once you get online with the cheesers. There's certain moves you do with anybody that is at least 6'9'' and has 80 post offense that are basically unstoppable...to most players, which will be almost everyone. I can almost guarantee that if these moves are figured out by the masses of cheesers online, it will be the first thing that's complained about and patched.

HAS ANYBODY SEEN YAO'S POST MOVES? Did they give him his own? or still with Timmy Duncan?
