NBA 2K9 offers a frequent update once a while. However there is a problem.
For example: When I get the game, I start a season with the houston rockets. After like 4 weeks later. The rockets trade yao ming for lebronie james, kobe, and godzilla. Of course it would be updated on the rosters. BUT the problem is, I already started my season and the roster was set before the trade. How will I recieve the update in the season play mode that I have already started??

You don't. This never has and never will happen. Did you actually think before asking this? How could this possibly even make sense? What if you're in your 2013 season, would you expect that Tim Duncan to have the same trade value he has now? Or what if the Rockets and Lakers did a trade in the NBA, but on your association those players were now spread over 3 teams. It would be carnage. Roster updates will never effect seasons.

The 2K Insider said that the living rosters would not work in the season and association modes. Even if it did, it wouldn't make much sense to do so.
