XXL made me think of this in another thread. He mentioned comparing players' spin moves to which my retort was simply that there is no spin move rating.
The question now is why isnt that a rating? it is not an ability that is equal amongst all players. It also shouldnt be dictated by an animation. We need more animations that are dictated by ratings but that is another thread.
For now, list the ratings that you feel are still missing from the game and explain its use(if it isnt obvious by name alone).
I will start with one id love to see.
Consistancy.
I think we would need a consistancy rating for the close, med, and 3 pt shot ratings.
I remember last year when in regards to Sasha, Phil Jackson said "we always knew he was an 11:00 am shooter but we didnt know if he could be a 7:00 pm shooter" or something to that effect. He basically says that sasha is money in shoot around but apparently struggled during games.
This tells me that he deserves his shot ratings but he shouldnt be as likely to hit the shot as everyone else in the league with similar ratings.
Many players are referred to as "streaky scorers" who can fill it up for stretches of time but then they go cold and have to defer to someone else. My 2k8 example would be me getting continuously wet up by Lebron on a night in and night out basis from 3. I absolutely think that he is capable of hitting 3s but he was wettin me like clockwork out there.
