OK, Besides the fact that following ratings are very suspect!!!
1. Joe Johnson (rated 89 overall) should be no less than 90 - with better OnBall DEF than 78 and more strength than 71 (he's 6'7 235 with some PG skills)???? For Goodness sakes, the man was 89 last year then he returned as an All-star and led ATL to the playoffs (1st time in 9 years)...
2. Flip Murray's layup, shoot-off-dribble, & OffPost = 50??? - no further comments!
3. Josh Smith's block = 90??? - He's been 2nd in the NBA in blocks 2 straight years and 4th before that year - why does Mourning/Raliff have higher when they finished way behind him the last 2 years ???
We are missing players - Randolph Morris who signed before August and two others Othello Hunter and Thomas Gardner!!!
We have player that signed elsewhere (of course I moved them myself) - Jeremy Richardson (signed on in ORL) and Salim Stoudamire (who's with the Spurs)
Hope you guys stay on top things like this once the season draws near...

Ok let me break down everything for you. Since your a hawks fan your view is going to be off because thats your team.
1. Joe Johnson Is a 1 sided player he scores thats it. he doesnt rebound very well play def very well or anything else other then shoot.
2. Flip is a spot up shooter with very little to no other abilities in the NBA he has always been this way and probably always will be.
3. Josh Smith gets blocks but 90 percent of his blocks come from off the ball when he comes from the weak side to get the bloack the bloack rating in 2k is from what ive seen when your guarding someone and just block their shot and thats not what Smith is known for.
As far as players signed. The players you mention signed october 1st of this year and the update was cut off aug 8th and there wont be a roster update till either the real release date or till the 15 man rosters are sent out.
Randolph morris signed in september also which of course is after aug.

Joe Johnson led the Hawks to 35 wins. This is not exactly a comendable feat given the team's talent level. He did not have a better year than the season before.
2. Flip Murray's layup, shoot-off-dribble, & OffPost = 50??? - no further comments!
Yep, no argument there, no idea what they're doing. There's another guard with that but I forget who.
3. Josh Smith's block = 90??? - He's been 2nd in the NBA in blocks 2 straight years and 4th before that year - why does Mourning/Raliff have higher when they finished way behind him the last 2 years ???
90 is perfect for Smith. He isn't Camby or Alonzo.
Mourning block%
2006: 10.2! (led league obviously)
2007: 9.0! (led league again)
2008: 8.6! (would have led league if qualified)
Zo's the best shot blocker in the league, no question. The difference between Zo and Camby is the difference between Camby and Josh Smith. Which is huge.
Theo Ratliff had a slightly better year than Smith and is about as good. That's the only thing he brings to the game. Smith is obviously the more valuable defensive player as Ratliff can't keep up with LeBron, Pierce, etc etc etc.
We are missing players - Randolph Morris who signed before August and two others Othello Hunter and Thomas Gardner!!!
Yeah but you couldn't expect them to add Hunter or Gardner, those are exactly the players that never get added every year. The Hawks are a funny team, they give guaranteed deals to guys who should be fighting for their spot in training camp. Morris is more understandable since this is his 3rd season.
We have player that signed elsewhere (of course I moved them myself) - Jeremy Richardson (signed on in ORL) and Salim Stoudamire (who's with the Spurs)
They were all signed after the roster cutoff. Hopefully it means they'll create those missing players. 2k historically only creates players when a team isn't going to meet their roster minimum of 12. With Salim out of the picture they'll probably make Morris. Richardson if they're lazy they might just keep on Atlanta esp if he gets cut by Orlando (which is likely).

Smith is not Camby...but neither Alonzo or Ratliff had a full season and they didn't even have as many blocks as Smith in 06-07. Block leaders aren't detemined by %...they are determnined by either totals or per game avg. Whether it be weak side help, chasing guys down, or face-to-face, both Camby and Josh block tons of shots and deserve to be the top 2 in blocks in any game (PERIOD)!
So what the Hawks only won 37 games, 3 games less than 7th place PHI...They didn't play in the playoffs like they only won 37 games. The Hawks played BOS as tough as any other team did when it matters the most.
Also FYI Chello, Randolph Morris was signed June 30, 2008 - [link (http://www.nba.com/hawks/news/Hawks_Sign_Randolph_Morris_073008.html)]
I ride-or-die with ATL so I do know that Haters love to bash a team until that team is doing good (or starts a buzz) then they love to jump on that team's nuts...From bandwagon to bandwagon you go!!!
Rashidi, you're right about Joe not having as good of an 07-08 as he did in 06-07 when he avg 25+ppg. My thing is his rating shoulda went up a couple in 2k8 then come down a couple in 2k9 if that was the determining factor? Maybe this Insider will follow every team and the Hawks will earn better ratings...

Please refrain from asking for someone's overall rating to be changed. Thats some EA nonsense that we dont want spreading like a cancer into 2K. Do you really want them to start just changing numbers around to give a desired overall rating?
I say give people the most accurate specific ratings you can and let their overall just be whatever it is.
There is a reason when you go to edit a player, you cant edit their overall rating....

Block leaders aren't detemined by %...they are determnined by either totals or per game avg.
But that's not how block ratings are determined. They are determined by blocks per minute, which is the non-pace adjusted version of block%.
Of course Smith averaged more blocks, he played over 30 minutes per game. That doesn't make him a better shot blocker. Zo and Ratliff would outblock him if they got similar minutes.
So what the Hawks only won 37 games, 3 games less than 7th place PHI...They didn't play in the playoffs like they only won 37 games. The Hawks played BOS as tough as any other team did when it matters the most.
Which probably says more about the individual matchup than it does about Joe Johnson. Carrying a team to the 8th seed in the east isn't an accomplishment. The only non-playoff teams that weren't tanking were Indiana and Chicago.
The only reason people talk about Philly as an accomplishment is they were supposed to be a lottery team. The Hawks were expected to challenge for the 8th seed and they got it. Big deal. Not because they were good, but because they weren't as bad as Indiana or Chicago.
I ride-or-die with ATL so I do know that Haters love to bash a team until that team is doing good (or starts a buzz) then they love to jump on that team's nuts...From bandwagon to bandwagon you go!!!
The only three teams I use online are the Hawks, Knicks, and Warriors. Saying a team is not that good is not bashing them. They have an average starting lineup and the worst bench in the league.
A healthy Bobcats team should overtake them.
C Okafor - Horford
PF May - Smith
SF Wallace - Williams
SG Richardson - Johnson
PG Felton - Bibby
Pretty evenly matched. But then we get to the bench.
C Mohammed - Pachulia
PF Hollins - Jones
SF Dudley - Evans
SG Carroll - Murray
PG Augustin - Law
Cats are easily the deeper team. I have no idea how Atlanta is going to deal with an injury. They're not gonna be able to play all the starters 82 games and 36 minutes each. They have relatively young and durable players, but if they have to run without one of them for a month, kiss the playoff dream goodbye.

I haven't looked at JJ's ratings but if they're anything like last year's, they're fine. Teammates affect stats. JJ didn't average 25 ppg because the team added Horford and Bibby, while Williams increased his scoring role.
