BUG: Jab step, jump shot

When I was playing the demo, I noticed a pretty significant bug (My apologies if this bug has already been noted on the forum).

I was using the Lakers, and I had a couple of instances where Kobe had the ball on the perimeter and I would use a jab step to create some separation between him and the defense. After using the jab step, I quickly tried to shoot the ball and I was unable to do so.

This is a HUGE glitch, especially when this was working very well in NBA 2k8. I'm hoping that this is only a bug with the demo and not with the actual retail version. If it is indeed a bug in the retail version too, I'm hoping that 2K includes a fix for this on a patch.

Has anyone else noticed this issue too?

yes it kills me you gotta wait for the jab animation to finish to start shooting that sucks, I hope it'll be fixed.

I dont see this as too much of an issue because too many times people jabbed stepped until they got an open three......that's weak....make people expand their game.....and on top of that.....you can still do it

I got jab stepped all the time and it wasnt because i was choosing.

I would want to guard the shot but the game will make my player commit to the jab step even when i dont want him to. You may want to play for the shot only but the game doesnt care, they just make you bite on the jab step anyways.

This is a big glitch, hopefully they will include an update to fix it. You should be able to shoot immediately after jab stepping and you can't because the cpu recovers by the time you hit the shoot button and the jab animation is over.

I got jab stepped all the time and it wasnt because i was choosing.

I would want to guard the shot but the game will make my player commit to the jab step even when i dont want him to. You may want to play for the shot only but the game doesnt care, they just make you bite on the jab step anyways.

Same here....you don't even want to back up because you know what's coming but the animations make you back up....Im sorry but that was not realistic basketball because if I'm on defense and that's all he's got all game long I would just play him tighter....im glad they fixed it makes people put the ball on the floor sometimes

I also agree Last year in 2k8 you could shoot wide open threes all game long using the jab step and that is plain unrealistic..the more realistic this game is the better. And if i got fake by the jab step eventually i know its coming so i play tighter and decide not to fall for it didnt matter bcause you had no choice the animation fell for it anyways..and it still works anyways just not as effective and thats realistic. otherwise its a wide open shot all game long..

im happy the took that BS out, that wasnt right at all..u could just jab step over and over and once his guy moved u would be wide open..i remember dudes used to pick bobcats an do that ish with jrich cuz his glitch shot
