I finally beat one of you McGradyphiles. After numerous games (I've played like 15 and eight or nine have been either Rockets or Cavs) and several times coming close, I was finally able to withstand one of your 40 shot performances and have a respectable defensive game plan. (Now if there was just some way to stop Lebron)

Furthermore, I cannot wait until we get into the regular season and we have a 2k Insider that realizes that McGrady shot LESS THAN 30 PERCENT from the three-point line. Despite his smooth stroke he's a horrible three-point shooter. And he's not much of a driver anymore.

Correcting that, and eventually Lebrons own Godly 3-point prowess (promise you, put him in a gym alone and he probably makes less than half of his three point attempts) will hopefully getting us to games where people stop shooting (and nailing) threes with opponents draped all over them.

note that mcgrady had a shoulder injury last season it was hard for him to shoot. he was a good 3point shooter but slacked off last season but this season hell shoot it better than he did last yr so get use it n there wouldnt b any change when those rosters r changed. hes simply a BEAST on the court.

mcgrady cant shoot very well in this game and his release isnt easy. his mid is only a 78 and 3point is a 80. He is a streaky shooter in the game but i can still make him outshoot kobe anytime cause i only use rockets. Watch out for arron brooks, he is the quickest player in the game and he can shoot from anywhere. i killl people with his dribble skills.

artest is better than tmac in the game sorry to say. i abused lebron yesterday in the post with artest and locked him down on defense to only 1 dunk entire game. Guy said i was cheating but i call it Excellent on ball defensive shading to sideline. He goes baseline i call for double team and make him shoot a jumper or charge

artest is stronger and he can steal the ball with his high defensive rating. He shoots better than tmac .His defensive ratings are second best in the game along with battier. Artest can also guard kobe and lebron with ease. Tmac is lacking defensively and his shot is unreliable this year. He is a streaky shooter but he makes some crazy layups

Go back and look at the stats, there are actual numbers here to back this up. He's had three, count them, THREE years in which he was able to hit 35 percent of his three-pointers or higher (his first three years in Orlando). Other than that he's been in the low 30s his entire career.

Shoulder injury? His shooting numbers were not any different than those you get from his entire career except the three years that we can now look back on as his prime (as in he is past it). The truth of the matter is in real life he's a high volume scorer along the likes of Allen Iverson (though AI does a much better job at the line). For his career he has hung his shooting percentages in the low 40's.

Going back to the mistake everyone makes. McGrady is not a three point shooter. But when you're 6-8, can get the shot off any time you like, and every once in a while hit three or four in a row people tend to overrate you. The times where he hits bunches of threes and long range shots are the abberation, not the norm. Unfortunately in this day of youtube and Sportscenter, where all you see are highlights, this is what we get.

I will continue working to get better at defense, but seeing 7-10 three-point nights with defenders draped all lover McGrady in ranked games are getting old. 2K insider, can't wait for you to get to work buddy. My vote for first animations to be stripped are half of McGrady's dunk package. He was in the dunk contest as a member of the Raptors. Threw it off the backboard in a few All-Star games in Orlando. And has done almost nothing of note in Houston.

dude u cant deny Mcgrady of his greatness. b walton so u think kobe deserves that high 3p rate? hes only a 34% 3p shooter compare that to tmac's 33%. tmac had his career 3p at 36 before the shoulder injury made him shoot 29 bringing his % down to 33 but kobe always had a higher 3pt rate than tmac video games. dude u cant down play ma boy tmac cus u cant stop him. just understand that his the best when hes healthy

He is really not. The best can get out of the first round of the playoffs. He gets respect, I don't think he sucks, but he really is overrated. Kobe doesn't deserve a high 3-point rating either.

But getting back to your argument. Look at his stats. His 3-point percentages are inflated by a three-year stretch in Orlando. Other than that it's all been around 30 percent.

Do I have a problem with him making the occassional three off the dribble? No. But every one, every time he gets the slightest slither of space? No.

And as far as the "when he's healthy" defense: He is never healthy. It's not fluke injuries. Durability is a skill as much as explosiveness is.

If Sam Bowie had stayed healthy he very well could have justified his top overall pick status. He didn't.
