i'm use to having most of the gold and silver star on my offense, but now i wanna try D, i would like to stop the run completely, and make them pass to the gold CBs, heres mt set up so far

G: Rod Woodson-CB
G: Night Train Lane-CB
S: Curt Warner-RB
S: Leroy Bulter-SS
S: Jessie Tuggle-ILB
B: Pet Mets-TE
B: Dave Krieg-QB
B: Dan Saleaumua-DE
B: Otis Wilson-OLB
B: Eugene Robinson-FS
B: Leonard Marshall-DE

The Thing is i only have 1 target on offense and that's my tight end, and the other thing the bronze QB isn't so good, and on that my kicker sucks his miss game winning FGs like none thing, kicks the ball out of bounds all the time etc. so i was thinking get rid of Dave, get Randall or Dawson, and get a bronze ILB(dropping jessie). also maybe getting a bronze kicker to help me out, but dont know who to drop. what do you think i should do?

And how often should i blitz? when i was playing CPU i was in 4-3 Zone sending 1 or 2 linebackers in to add pressure, should i try this online?

I suggest gettin grid of Jessie Tuggle. He is not that good at all. If you wanted a Silver ILB I suggest either Karl Mecklenberg or Buoniconti. If you have the legends on the D-Line than you could replace Tuggle with a Ken Norton JR in the bronze tier and upgrade your QB to Ken Stabler. You will get the most out of your DT if you put him in as your #2 DT in your depth chart. For some reason the Right DT always gets double teamed so you need him to the left DT.

Switch Night Train to Ronnie Lott/Willie Wood, switch Tuggle to Lem Barney, switch Robinson to Ken Norton JR.

Fro>Barney

Lem barney was a 7 time pto baller and was worse in the NFL than fro who was a 10 time all-pro and won a SB, I think fro is much better at man coverage that Lembar. Although Lembar makes a lot of picks from zone.

I wonder how many people realize that Renfro really had the better career then Barney.

I say keep tuggle and put some beef on your line so that he can roam free to the ball.

Everything starts in the trenches. It doesn't matter if you have more LB's if blockers are consistently in the 2nd level blocking them.

Beef up that line to eat up those blockers and put a sure tackler behind the beef (tuggle is as sure as they come).

Also related to what hitman said, I've never noticed the 2nd string DT thing but if it is true, out him there depending on what you want you dt's to do. If you want them making plays in the backfield then putting your star second string seems like a no brainer, so he can abuse the single team. But if you want your backers making plays at the point of attack (I'd wager this happens more often than DT's making plays in the backfield) then leave your DT 1st string to eat up that extra blocker that'd usually try to stick your LB.

In my opinion, the key to getting the most out of your squad is to get players that compliment one another. A team full of super stars is not always the best solution. I don't have one gold on most of my defenses, and although they are not world beaters they do the job admirably.

Remember, it all starts in the trenches. However this does not apply to APF's offense because all of the.O- lineman in this game blow chunks
