If Kelly went out and just threw none stop punches like he normally does it would have been a much closer fight but, his dumb *** manager told him to look for the KO. Kelly Pavlik usually throws over 100 punches a round and KO's dudes because of an accumalation of punches and his trainer had him just looking for the KO which was a dumb move against a guy that never been KO'ed. Hopkins is great no doubt but, he didn't face the best Kelly Pavlik tonight and that falls heavily into Kelly's paver/ hot topper/ trainer. Hopkins-Calzaghe could have gone either way. I had it for Hopkins, but round 8 is the key swing round.

the taylor/hopkins fights were mirrors with the exception that i thought b hop held more back the first time around.

regardless when its all said and done, most of his losses will be seen as controversial losses meaning if he had won them no one would be throwing a fit........ all scored by judges....and dont let me touch on the judging in boxing..

Amen. Hopkins to this day, only admits to having one loss, and it was against R.J.J. I'm pulling for Roy to pull off the upset, and can see it happening, but only if Jones lets his hands go, and hurts Calzaghe enough to make Joe weary about wanting to engage with Jones. Otherwise I see a workmanlike victory for Joe, and possibly a mid to late round stoppage.

Pep old ray robinson fights and watch hopkins fights, you will see a very very close resemblance in form & timing. Naw Jones clearly won that man...first few rounds there was hardly anyone landing then Jones just took over with his speed and counter punching. He started hitting Hopkins with 3-5 hit combination.....I believe even Hopkins himself said he lost the fight. Hopkins is a great fighter but he lost that fight clearly.

Jones didn't hit Hopkins with 3-5 punch combonations, but he clearly won. Most of those rounds were pretty up for grabs because neither did **** until Jones would flurry and either not hit that clean or he would land some clean punches and win it. I had it 116-112 I think for Jones.
