(sing along 2K nation)
chorus
We making this song just for 2K sports,
The Big Wigs in the suits always reading reports,
Throw a dog a bone, so we can get off that porch
And watch us come out like election day and show our support
We nominate you to be the chief in command-----
All Pro is proof, you can supply the demand-----
So I give you a hand----, in fact a standing ovation
Wont you give us 2K10 for your 2k nation
verse 1
I just want to vent but don't know where to begin,
I got a dream like MLK that you'll make 2k10,
If you make 2K10, then 2K wins,
The proof is in the pudding here's the case I present,
A customizable game, you get undeniable fame
Where online you can play in the snow or the rain,
And for the football phenes, that once had football dreams,
You can make your own teams and even stadium scenes,
Give us nice options like Flavor of Love,
Where we can manage a franchise and pricing for grub
With all the above, there's no need for a license
That’s a thing of the past just like Mike Tyson
It's a useless piece of paper that we really don't need,
I'd rather make my own Ray Lewis and Ed Reed,
So please proceed to give us what we need,
Because we itching for a hit, so we can be at ease-----
chorus
verse 2
Excuse my grammar, Don't take it as slander,
But we need your programmers, working in their ba-jam-as
To give us a gift like their nickname is Santa
And make another football game that's crazy bananas,
You know we're the fans of---, the sideline cameras---
Three dimensional crowd that when you score they stand up---
Linebackers ripped like they did time in the slander---,
This game for grown men not babies in pampers--,
2K's the grizzly bear of games, and EA is the panda
And their commentaries dry just like Dandruff--
I thought that was a crime, why aren't they in handcuffs?
We need them out the way so the king can stand up---,
I see their games and laugh, though I'm feeling the grass,
Other than that; John take your game, and shove it straight up your !@#
Give us those classic graphics, that’s sharp like a cactus,
So I can pop a QB like springs in a mattress
chorus
verse 3
I conclude your honor I think our case has been made,
The gameplay's ingenious by 2k---,
Presentations the best thing since pants with pockets,
If they make a generic game then they keep more of the profit,
And make a few additions like tailgating fans,
More company logos around the field and the stands,
Before you dismiss this, My star Witness,
The All-Pro fans willing to give them business,
Here's the logistics, its real simplistic,
Don't turn your back on us like those AIG misfits
Football is America's most popular sport,
If you want to call me out I can provide the support,
Yall took the time out to publish tennis and ping pong,
I'm ready to rampage like Godzilla and King Kong,
We don't want you to fail us like execs at Enron
We just want 2K10 so we can get our sim on.
LAST CHORUS-
We making this song just for 2K sports,
And here's a few dude's willing to show their support,
The whole GRIDIRON league, Amid, and Valdy
twosilk, Funky resident, El Greazy and Numbski,
NFLHitman, Hibachi, and Brownster
The medicine we need we can get over the counter
At any EB games, or our local Gamestop
But we don't understand why you made the game stop
2k is the epitome, Listen to me Lyrically
Repeat
Repeat
2K is the epitome listen to me Lyrically
Everybody in the forums know that they are feeling me
2K is the epitome
repeat
repeat

I thought the rules were that there could be no specific players & NFL rights. In my case, I removed the team logos, NFL logos & changed the colors of all uniforms.
If I were to have known that wouldn't work I would have gone in a completely different direction. Also, if I would have known people would nit-pick over the use of the official APF logo I would have made a much easier one to incorporate myself.
If you folks want to you can disqualify mine to make it easier for everyone else.

You guys are missing the point.
Rule # 1. This limited budget game will not feature a paid athlete or coach. A generic athlete may be used or any other non athlete.
Also while Cushing isn't paid, he couldn't be a cover boy at this point because of NCAA regulations.
So neither of your covers would qualify, and the Cushing one isn't even legal.

Those guys are far away. With the helmets on, you can barely see their face. There are no team logos. I can recreate players that appear as all those guys in APF. They pass as generics. A close up unmistakable photo of a NFL player was ruled out. He could have been replaced with a generic player and that entry would have made the finals. The entry above that was submitted doesn't qualify.

Coming from a graphic design and marketing stand point this is one reasons APF didn't sell too well. There is no brand recognition because 2K feel like they need to change the format of the cover art and logos consistantly; just now have they started to make each sports games' covers look similar (as seen with the NBA & MLB 2k games). They relied too much on the "face" or player of the game selling the product instead of the gameplay and game itself. Think about it, they used guys like Allen Iverson & Randy Moss as the "faces of the game" then started flip-flopping to other players (TO, Urlacher, etc). Madden could get away with changing players every year because everyone knew "Madden" as a brand name game, but people didn't know "2k football" at all. In marketing you learn that from the beginning: make a recognizable logo that will stay the same all the time.
How would it be for Pepsi to compete against ***e (it filters out the ___a Cola?) if they changed their bottle & logo every year? How would Burger King compete with McDonalds if they changed their signature foods every year? 2K needs some continuity and a whole new marketing approach. In all honesty, I think many of the APF home-made covers we've posted look way better than the actual APF2K8 cover.

Meh...Had they not lost the ESPN license their title logo would have been similar every year and would have been the "BRAND RECOGNITION" of their game. ESPN 2K was gaining popularity and IMO would be the football game everyone would be playing right now just like NBA 2K is vs. Live. Also if one of those home-made covers were to pass, I would think exactly that..."That looks like a home-made cover, WTF!!!".

Thats awesome!
I gotta admit. The first time I saw the actual game cover I literally cringed and felt really disappointed.
By that I meant I knew that it would never catch anyone's eye and cause them to look at the game unless they were already interested in it. I remember looking at it and thinking "Who did this its awful..."
At the very least it should have had the real players pictures on the cover instead of some god awful drawing of them. That in my opinion was one of many major mistakes they made when marketing the game.
