Hey :)

I started playing 2k9 last night on my PC, it's the first 2k i've played since 2k7 on the ps2 so I'm a bit behind the times and the controls are taking some getting used to.

Problem is I ran tutorial 2 or 3 times last night and I just cannot seem to pull off the moves on a regular basis. For example the crossover, hold B6 and move the left stick towards the players free hand, I tried this about 20 times and maybe got a crossover going 2 or 3 times :S

Part of this is confusion I guess, I don't know if I'm suppose to be pushing the direction based on where my player is standing on the screen or like if his left hand is free I press left on the stick, it's very complicated for me :\

Also the tutorial seems to miss out a few key controls, like in 2k7 there was a way to bring up a playbook on court to call quickly for a pick etc, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this in 2k9, so running different plays is basically impossible.

I'm using the XBOX360 controller, I read on some other forum that the default drivers for this are overly sensitive and that there are some alternate drivers to get a more normal response from the controller, if anyone has some experience with this please let me know :)

I think this is a great game, but atm the controls are so overwhelming I'm not really able to play anywhere near how I want to, if someone got some tips please help me out :D

Cheers.

The quick playbook is brought up with the pad, not the sticks.

You can set controls to be relative to the screen or relative to the camera angle in profile.

You may also have to map some of your controls. When I first started none of the left or right stick moves were mapped.

I have the same issue, I can't produce the cross over or hesitation on a regular basis.
By the way the tutorial should validate your moves, like it does in the strategy practice

the relation of camera can be set in profile, also player lock can be set there which is not acceptable! you have to exit the current game to activate the player lock, it should be in controller setup!
and actually your other problem is related to the late release of this game in pc i think!
xbox 360 and ps3 controls are right, as we see in tutorials and movies lately released on this website's nba 2k9 homepage, they have both hop step and pick control buttons set! but in pc unfortunately we have spin and crossover buttons, which are totally unnecessary! we can do spin and crossover easily with keyboard and also gamepads just like xbox and ps3 and even better! so i don't understand what was the reason to eliminate the very useful pick control button! the only explanation comes to mind is the late release and the hurry in porting the game and a clumsy mistake! also the hop step is removed, although you can preform hop step by quick pressing and releasing of the shoot while running but i believe it is the same in xbox and ps3! but they also have a separate hop step button! we have to have a stand alone button for that in pc also, isn't it right?!
this should be fixed in a patch sooner or later!

when there will be a patch for these problems?
will there be one?
i mean look at this! what is this? inbound glitch, controller problem, no good manual! did they tested the game before release?! i think the testers just played with kobe and dunked and said wow!
this excellent game worth nothing until these major problems are not solved!
does any one know when there will be "the patch"?!!!!
