For the past 2 months or so, I either go with 4 skill position players and 7 defensive players,
or 4 skill position players + a offensive lineman or kicker, and 6 defensive players.

Without fail, my teams with the 6 defensive players play better then the ones with 7. Its the weirdest thing ever.

My teams with the OL and K, I have an easier time scoring with then the teams in which I only I have a QB, HB, WR, WR/TE on offense.

Those teams tend to be a pain in the behind to play with.

It could be that you're changing your playcalling subconsiously on the stronger side of the ball with the thinking that they will make plays on their own. This is sometimes a problem with me.

What I have done to generally correct it is make better decisions with my gameplan. For instance, if you have a high powered offense but a weak defense, kill the clock with your offense. Better to leave your strongest component on the field for as long as you can, especially if you know you can score. Another thing you could do (with a weak defensive team) is to play aggressive and take chances. More than likely your offense can bail you out or keep you in the game, so might as well take chances with the defense. You may give up something big but you may also cause a clutch turnover.

Perhaps.

On offense I play pretty much the same. I dont care who it is, I try to hit the best 1 on 1 matchup.

I do tend to take more chances on D though when I have that extra legend defender that I normally dont.

I run a more high risk, high reward D then most people who play this game in general, but instead of just doing the same fundamental things with the added legend, I have a tendency to roll the dice like a drunken sailor more often.

A kicker will help your defense out immensely....The 10-15 yards that a kicker gives you on kickoffs forces the other team to go 80 yards for a td rather then 60

Yeah I used a kicker for quite a while. I stil do on occassion. I stopped because using a legend kicker actually improved my kicking with generics, but you are right, the difference on kick offs is a big deal and it helps to have him when your offense bogs down.

My problem isnt defense itself, it just that with fewer offensive options, my defense is on the field more then it usually is. Eventually they are going to give up some points.

Trade offs I tell ya :)
