State of the League: Week 2

- Wow what an eventful week for NFLP and frankly I almost felt like giving up on this league and shutting it down, but I realized we still have a great thing going. There are more people who want to be in this league than those who do not. We will miss the contributions of Tell and Soonersam as they were great players in this league (and they're always welcome back), but the league will move on.

Thanks Sooner and Tell for your help and participation in the league. You guys were two of the biggest supporters of NFLP and that's why it bothered me personally seeing you two leave without giving me even a chance to fix things. Hopefully you guys will change your mind and come back soon.

- There has been a lot going on and TRUST ME I READ AND SEE EVERYTHING... just as i ALWAYS HAVE. Just because I do not personally reply or you may not see instant results/decisions does not mean I have not handled or will handle the situation. I like to gather facts and take my time to weigh decisions in order to make a fair ruling. So now time to tie up loose ends:

(1) Soonersam vs Birdman - The decision will stand with Birdman as winner since Soonersam is no longer in the league. HOWEVER, if soonersam decides to return (still holding out hope) the game will be reset and Sooner and Birdman will re-play the game as a result of the poll

(2) Soonersam vs Temptastic - Temptastic will be awarded the win if Soonersam does not return. HOWEVER, if soonersam decides to return (a guy can hope, can't he)... the game will be reset. Again, I cannot view replays of any game. So this decision is based on both players violating rules against sim game play.

(3) The game between Ballin and number1killah5 WILL BE RESET. The TD score by an invalidated kick returner was the difference in the game. In fairness to both players the game will be reset.

(4) Minh707 and the 49ers will be eligible for playoffs. Tell left with and 6-5 record which is just 1 game over .500. IMO, that is basically a blank slate and currently the 6-5 record puts him 3rd in the West and just out of WC. So if Minh does make playoffs it will be because he earned it.

I think that's all the issues. If there's anything else that is unresolved let me know.

- REVIEW THE SIM RULES AND THE GENERAL FAQ. So quick reminders:

There is NO QUICK SNAPPING, CADENCE, or MANUAL FG/PAT BLOCK. Any of these actions RESULTS in a AUTOMATIC LOSS.

The only banned play is Double Trouble where the corners double man bump the WRs. This is outlawed b/c they continue to bump the WR past 5 yards and PI is rarely called. OTHER THAN THAT THERE ARE NO BANNED PLAYS.

HOWEVER MIX UP YOUR PLAYCALLING.

Also ALL late hits are to be DECLINED unless it results in an injured player or used as a method to stop the clock.

ALSO REMEMBER THE ANTI-RUNNING UP THE SCORE RULE. You must kneel the ball if your opponent has 0 timeouts or PMs you to knee the ball when you have 1st down < 2:00, 2nd down < 1:20, and 3rd down < 0:40.

- I need to look if it is addressed in the rules but for 4thd own plays. Here are the times you can go for it on 4th down:

(1) 4th and 1 or less in your opponents 49 yard or less.
(2) 4th down and any distance when you are between your opponents 30-40 yard line.
(3) Anytime and anywhere when you are down by 3 scores (20 pts is considered 3 scores).
(4) Anytime and anywhere during the 2 minute warning UNLESS Anti-Running the Score Rule is in effect.

- So guys by Wednesday you need 12 games played. Remember you need 13 games to qualify for playoffs and secure your spot for next season.

Welcome all to the new home of NFL Performance League. This is where you can discuss and get all news NFLP related. Season 4 is drawing near we are just waiting on everyone to join as Dtrain has already made the schedule! It is ready and waiting.

- Before we start league play everyone should re-read the rules to re-familiarize themselves with them. I will be going over changes to the rules more in depth.

- For season 4 I would like to welcome Kusongai (Falcons), xmaize n blue 22 (Colts), and Tempttastic (CHiefs) to their first full seasons in NFL Performance league. Please read or re-read the basic rules ... there is a link in the post below. Also love to welcome back Will I Am 504 (Saints) and BAO WAO 15 (Cardinals).

- Sucks I had a long post all type out and it must have gotten accidentally deleted. So here she blows again....

- With the addition and drops of players between Season 3 and Season 4 Dtraing reworked the divisions so that they make the most sense geographically. The divisions posted here are also type in the order that the ONLY BALANCED SCHEDULE IN APF was based on. So in addition to the 2 divisions you face you will get 2 games against the same seed in the other 2 divisions. Hopefully next season everyone returns so we can stick with the same divisions for once.

- I also added a section to the rules regarding the "Roy Williams" fiasco. I believe this resolves this issue in a way that is does not give that team an unfair advantage but allows them the opportunity to keep the team as close to the real NFL team as possible.

What roster will unused team have?

- New franchises to NFLP can use players on the most to date NFL Roster as long as a player is not currently on an NFLP Team.

How will NFL roster moves affect NFLP Rosters?

- If the NFL Roster move does not impact any currently active NFLP Teams it will be reflected on the roster.
- If an NFL player moves from an inactive NFLP Franchise to an active NFLP Franchise in real life... the NFLP franchise can add that player BUT THEY WILL BE A BRONZE NO MATTER WHAT TIER THEY COULD BE ADDED ON. If they decline they go into FA pool.
- If an NFL player moves from an ACTIVE NFLP Franchise to ANY NFLP Franchise... then the player STAYS ON THE NFLP FRANCHISE.


- I also added a little extra to our LB at DE rule to make it fall in line with NFLHITMAN'S league... which I think is a great rule.

Can LBs play DE?
Yes, if they are subbed in at DE in the NFL AND only in packages where there are 2 LBs or less on the field (nickel or dime, NOT 3-3 nickel) AND THEY MUST HAVE PASS RUSH BONUS AS AN ABILITY!!!

- Another important rule is the implementation of "Sportsmanship Rule" to curb against running up the score. The point of the league was to see how you'd perform naturally over the course of a game and running up the score is against the spirit of the league and is bad sportsmanship. I think this a necessary component to a league based on stats and it is easy to keep track of.

Can I run up the score to get stats?

The spirit of the league is to see how you perform and what stats you earn through the natural course of the game. Running up the score is bad sportsmanship and against the spirit of the rules. See this seems to be a gray line here is the rule:

BOTH teams MUST continue to play hard until it is possible for the offense to kneel out the clock.

A team is considered running up the score if they DO NOT KNEEL THE BALL when:

(1) The opposing/losing team has ZERO timeouts left or PMs you to kneel the ball.
AND
(2) You have: 1st down and < 2:00 mins left, 2nd down and < 1:20 min, 3rd down and < 0:40 seconds left (simply multiply # downs left x :40 seconds)

ALL 3 COMPONENTS MUST BE MET IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE CONSIDERED RUNNING UP THE SCORE. So if you have TOs left and did not PM the winner that you will not be using your remaining TOs... the opponent can continue running plays.

If you are caught running up the score you will receive 1 warning. If you do it a 2nd time - STAT FOR THAT GAME WILL NOT COUNT TOWARDS YOUR SEASON TOTALS. If you do it a 3rd time - YOU WILL BE KICKED OUT OF THE LEAGUE!!

- Also due to HItman's observation and suggestion took a look at DT stats and came up with their own standards. This should help DT progress easier.

Gold DT -If a player records 26 tackles or records 12 sacks
REGRESSES to silver if they do not have at least 28 tackles or at least 15 sacks

Silver DT - If a player records 20 tackles or 8 sacks
REGRESSES to bronze if they do not have at least 22 tackles or 10 sacks

- We will keep track of league records so if you break a league record that will be the new standard for automatic gold validation. So Ballin's DeSean Jackson has raised the bar for the new WR auto gold progression record.

- FINAL NOTE: If anyone has a spare copy of photoshop that they want to send me to use that would be great. Willing to pay some cash for a working version. If anyone is good at using excel and willing to help me make a spreadsheet to automatically sort through progression/regression that would be super awesome.

- So the league is starting as soon as everyone joins with the complete team. AGAIN please double check your teams abilities and tiers with the Final Validation AND your heights/weights with NFL.com. IF ANYTHING IS OFF I WILL BOOT YOU AND IT JUST WASTES TIME!!!!

Also this year will be the first year to go into the NFLP Record Books so play hard and play well. The NFLP record book IS coming and will be used in the future. Good luck all and have a great season.

- The 1st league has ended and we had a flurry of games played! Great job everyone on keeping this the most active league out there. Only 3 teams failed to play 4 games last week: Juic3d and the Pats (2 games), Weeman and the Titans (3 games), and Bao Wao and the Cardinals (RROD)! In fact most teams have already met the goal for Week 2 which is 8 games. Great job everyone.

AGAIN THIS WEEK THE GOAL IS 8 GAMES TO BE PLAYED BY WEDNESDAY!!

- Love the articles guys! Keep 'em coming! They've been great to read and add so much to the league. Special thanks to Dtrain who is bringing us power rankings! Love em.

- For the most part the week has gone smoothly but I need to remind you guys off some basic rules:

1) There is no manual FG or PAT blocking what so ever.

2) You cannot start running the clock until the 2 minute warning. Pick you play, make your adjustments, and hike the ball. Do not start the 4th quarter, call a play, and wait until the play clock goes down to :01 before you hike. If you want to run time off that's fine. Call plays as usual and move the chains. 4 min quarters is way to short to be milking the clock.

FLAxWLESS I also have a question about requirements for speedburner or BAB for FB's. I think a FB traditionally is a lot slower than a RB and should not be held to the same standard that a RB would be. I ask this because one of my favorite players on the Seahawks is FB Leonard Weaver. If you look at todays game and the highlights you will see him out run CB's, Safeties, and Patrick Willis who has speed. Weaver caught 4 passes in the game but 2 of them were over 50 yards that he took the distance. I would like to add him to next seasons Seahawks but I want to know your opinion on speed burner & BAB for FB's first. Here is the video highlights of the game. Leonard Weaver is the highlight!

4 receptions 116 yards, 2 TD's, long play of 62 yards.

This is what I would give Weaver he got all the way up to Gold status.

stop changing the subject HITMAN...your own video shows that Willis was not "outran." almost any FB could run north south down the field when he had great blocks like Weaver did...FB's don't do what Weaver did becase they are paid to block...ask Hasslebeck next next you see him lying on his back....maybe that is why the Seahawks are 2-5 just like the Niners

I was ranked as high as #3 in the game. I had an account that was 44 - 0, till it was deleted. I had beaten every top 20 player in the game. But I would like to be remembered for what I did in the second half of my All Pro Career. I won the mostive competitve SIM league championship in this game, Dynasty Legends. I want to thank every SIM player I played for making me a better SIM player. Sorry if I ever offended you, that was just me being me. I really did take your comments seriously. I adjusted my game little by little, where now I am almost a Heavy SIM comapred to being a light SIM.

I ask this because one of my favorite players on the Seahawks is FB Leonard Weaver. If you look at todays game and the highlights you will see him out run CB's, Safeties, and Patrick Willis who has speed. Weaver caught 4 passes in the game but 2 of them were over 50 yards that he took the distance. I would like to add him to next seasons Seahawks but I want to know your opinion on speed burner & BAB for FB's first. Here is the video highlights of the game. Leonard Weaver is the highlight!

2 rush 13 yards
4 receptions 116 yards, 2 TD's, long play of 62 yards.

This is what I would give Weaver he got all the way up to Gold status.

( Quick Feet, Speed Burner, Bull Dozer, Possession Receiver, Tough in the Middle )

Talking about progression.... What would a FB need for progression?

I do have a question for you. I noticed how you cut out that picture of O-Gun and was able to get rid of the white outline and boarder that usually comes with it. I have tried this many time and it doesnt work. I have tried to cut a pic of the Lombardi Trophy and drop on to my template but it always brings the pic along with the area that was cut out but it is now white. How do I just get the pic I wanted without the white boarder?

I use photoshop but I'm sure any type of editing software should have the ability to erase the "background" with the eraser tool or if there is enough contrast I do it with the magnetic lasso of Photoshop.

In photo shop you'll have to open the original pic, copy that picture, and then paste it in a new document. Once you do that you are able to use an "eraser" or some type of lasso to erase the background.

Possibly but NFL combine times take precedence over times listed at other websites. This has always been the case. Again it's an oversight/laziness and I am all I can say is I'm only human.

Yep you are reading it right. On defense there is only so much people can control... particularly D-linemen. In the end the CPU affects most of the final stats schedules.

You have to remember for progression the player has to meet those stats AS SILVER PLAYER... so the benchmark is lower to become a gold because they are a silver player playing a high level.

The regression numbers are numbers the player has to meet AS A GOLD player... so they have to be a gold player performing a silver level. So naturally those numbers will be higher than a silver trying to be a gold.

Yes and no hitman. First not all players entering the draft go to the combine, and not all players at the combine run the 40. Some players perform poorly at the combine, and some perform really well. For example Felix Jones had an overall poor showing at the combine. However if you watch him on film both at Arkansas, and in the first few weeks in Big D, you can see the speed and explosivness that the combine reports did not show.

However I digress. The league rules are simple, combine reports are the go to report so next season Felix Jones will have BAB.

It's not a double standard as most DL are CPU controlled and very rarely human controlled. Even if they are human controlled the performance impact is nothing as it ensures a charge and pass rush move every time. So DL face very little users impact.

If you look at the numbers gold DL are putting up you will see that they perform SIGNIFICANTLY better than silver DL players. So again the standards HAVE to be lower in order for a bronze or silver to move up a tier. However, once they are on the tier they perform much better.

Look at it this way:

For a silver DT to become a gold DT: They need 26 tackles or 12 sacks.
For a GOLD to STAY a gold DT: I'm only asking he improve his tackles by +2 or sacks by + 3 compared to the stats he put up as a silver.

So is it really that much of a double standard? If you upgrade a silver DT to a gold DT... I know you'll be upset if all you get is a + 2 tackles or + 3 sack improvement.

Is it a different method to calculate progression/regression? Yes. Is it a different rationale? No... it is still harder to become a gold, than to lose it.

Now why are DL different from other positions?

Offense - all offensive positions are determined by user skill/play calling. You control who gets what. So the standards are already set.

LB/DB - These guys stats are mostly due to opportunity and how often they are on the field. Also unlike DL when most players control LB or DBs it leads to a decrease in stats as they get less tackles, etc. When users control these players the only boost they give is in coverage stats but leads to tons of missed tackles in the run game.

DeSean Jackson needs 2 out of the 4 (rec, yards, YPC, TDs) to remain gold. So he may not be getting enough total yardage but I'm sure he exceeds the YPC marker and will probably meet the TD benchmark.

- The 1st league has ended and we had a flurry of games played! Great job everyone on keeping this the most active league out there. Only 3 teams failed to play 4 games last week: Juic3d and the Pats (2 games), Weeman and the Titans (3 games), and Bao Wao and the Cardinals (RROD)! In fact most teams have already met the goal for Week 2 which is 8 games. Great job everyone.

AGAIN THIS WEEK THE GOAL IS 8 GAMES TO BE PLAYED BY WEDNESDAY!!

- Love the articles guys! Keep 'em coming! They've been great to read and add so much to the league. Special thanks to Dtrain who is bringing us power rankings! Love em.

- For the most part the week has gone smoothly but I need to remind you guys off some basic rules:

1) There is no manual FG or PAT blocking what so ever.

2) You cannot start running the clock until the 2 minute warning. Pick you play, make your adjustments, and hike the ball. Do not start the 4th quarter, call a play, and wait until the play clock goes down to :01 before you hike. If you want to run time off that's fine. Call plays as usual and move the chains. 4 min quarters is way to short to be milking the clock.

Can I run up the score to get stats?

The spirit of the league is to see how you perform and what stats you earn through the natural course of the game. Running up the score is bad sportsmanship and against the spirit of the rules. See this seems to be a gray line here is the rule:

BOTH teams MUST continue to play hard until it is possible for the offense to kneel out the clock.

A team is considered running up the score if they DO NOT KNEEL THE BALL when:

(1) The opposing/losing team has ZERO timeouts left or PMs you to kneel the ball.
AND
(2) You have: 1st down and < 2:00 mins left, 2nd down and < 1:20 min, 3rd down and < 0:40 seconds left (simply multiply # downs left x :40 seconds)

ALL 3 COMPONENTS MUST BE MET IN ORDER FOR IT TO BE CONSIDERED RUNNING UP THE SCORE. So if you have TOs left and did not PM the winner that you will not be using your remaining TOs... the opponent can continue running plays.

If you are caught running up the score you will receive 1 warning. If you do it a 2nd time - STAT FOR THAT GAME WILL NOT COUNT TOWARDS YOUR SEASON TOTALS. If you do it a 3rd time - YOU WILL BE KICKED OUT OF THE LEAGUE!!

4) I am cracking down on return men. These are the only validated return men:

I can answer #2 wEEman. We use a balanced schedule that includes the rotation of inter-division play. This year the South plays the West. Next season they will not. The only way you will be scheduled to play Hitman next season is if you finish ranked the same. If that happens I can make a scheduling switch much easier then was the case with the South playing the entire West. (If you both finish #1, you both play the #2 in each others division instead.)

wEEwoman if you actually used more than 1 play on offense and defense that you have mastered than I would consider playing you. I will not waste an hour of my day to play a guy who has 4 WR's on one side all game in shotgun and runs streaks with max passing. Sure you will throw in a new play here and there but your offense is 1 play unless you run the ball and so you have a run right, left, iso than your 4 WR's on one side play. I still do not understand how they keep you in this league when running the same offense and defense all game long is NOT SIM!

He returned a kick agaisnt me for a touchdown and I lost the game by either 2 or 3 points. But I know I lost that game by less then a touchdown. Making it impossible for him to have won that game if he never of returned that kick.

He is simply known as an overrated DT who got Closing Speed for some unexplicable reason and ran down Frank Gore which stopped Gore from scoring which in turn made me lose the game. Bernard is worse than trailer trash. I should have won that game and I rectified the problem in the 2nd game easy. I simply could not get that play out of my mind for the rest of the game. Like I said Bernard is trash and he is a chronic underachiever. He doesnt make any big plays (see the Miami game yesterday for example)...Where was Bernard on the Ricky Williams 50 yards TD.....NOWHERE...where was he on Ronnie Brow's TD run....being blocked by ONE LINEMAN.

All you can talk about is how he ran full speed at a QB when the QB was not at full speed.....

It's one game against 1 player. If you had the game in hand then stop putting up points and just run the ball to kill the clock. You didn't have to put up all those points. Hoser isn't in your division so you would only face him 1x a year if that. Plus I've never had any problems with Hoser.

You say it's not about closing speed but then you talk about it for two paragraphs. Plus you are really blowing it out of proportion for something that happened ONCE. There are many times that even GENERIC linemen make diving tackles to stop someone. If Bernard didn't have closings peed I'm pretty sure the same thing could have and has happened before... but just b/c he has closing speed you're making it into a big deal. Plus like Hitman said... he's had 4 tackles in 8 games. How is that OP?

Well thanks for the response. Just wanted to see if there was something that could be done, but it's obviously some issues you have that can't be fixed by me. So if you want back in the league just let me know... if not I'm handing the 49ers over to someone else.

You said in your post that I highlighted that you plan on running up the score on me in CFL which I don't understand at all. First of all whats make you think it will be that easy or if you will win? By your admission you are playing cheesy ball yourself and have the worst sportsmanship I have seen in a long time. You base running up the score on me because I actually beat you LOL. Did I run the score up on you in that game for you to warrant doing this to me? It was announced that returners need to be validated during the validation process. Ultimately, the onus is on the player for knowing the rules. The game will not be reset but instead the 7 pts that Terry Glenn scored will be wiped out. It's just one game and you should still cruise to playoffs so in the long run it doesn't matter much.

We are more than half way through the season with season 5 fast approaching. I would love to have somebody with your enthusiasm and track record of 2K football in this league and I am sure FLAxWLESS would love for you to join also. I think the Redskins are an available team also so just might be in luck with that. If FLAxWLESS lets you join I would suggest making your team for Validation ASAP since it is a long process and sometimes how you see your team or players is not how the NFL scouting reports see your player. FLAxWLESS and DTRAIN go by NFL Scouting reports for players attributes.

FLAxWLESS and DTRAIN are the admins and the only ones who can say yes to you joining but I personally think you would be a great asset.

Minh is one of the best offensive players i have seen play this game. Even when he doesnt use Jerry Rice he can kill you with his bronze receivers.

I have not seen or heard of one complaint against Temptastic Loreno. There is never a mercy invite in fact I liked the way I built that Chiefs team and gave it up to get my Seahawks. I have never heard of any complaints about Hoser in any league either. If he was down 3 TD's than he should be able to no huddle the rest of the game until he gets the score under 3 TD's. You only have so long to tie the game or win it and if your down 3 TD's than that is a perfect example of a legit reason to no huddle to get back in to the game. You have 2 instances that are 100% legit that you are very angry about that makes no sense.

1. You get angry that out of 4 Tackles my Silver DT has made all season 1 against you and your Gold RB and you flip out because of it.

2. You get angry when your opponent who is down 3 TD's starts to use the no huddle offense LOL.

The problem Tell is that we all know no huddling is not allowed in these instances. However, you did not bring them up to me until AFTER YOU QUIT. So how am I supposed to fix something if instead of letting me know you quit.

That's basically what's ****ing me off between sooner and yourself. Instead of letting me know what's up and letting me take action. You guys quit and then complain. How is that supposed to help me? How am I supposed to police the league if you guys don't PM me with an official complaint BEFORE YOU QUIT THE LEAGUE.

I cannot control how people play DURING each game. I have rely on what you guys tell me after games and make a decision based on that and fix it AFTER the fact. Again, sooner and yourself have quit the league because of game play issues, yet I have been aware of those issues until you guys quit.

Also you cannot expect me to boot someone after 1 game/1 complaint. Every complaint I receive I bring to the attention of the accused player through PM/XBL. That seems fair enough to give everyone a chance to redeem themselves. After that the only way I can judge if they are playing the right way is if I receive another complaint or lack of complaints.

Again, Tell and Sooner we all want the same things from the league and game play. If not we would not have had many enjoyable matches. Instead of quitting because of players who don't play the game the "right" way, help me reform/get rid of those players who don't play the right way.

I don't want to get involved but I think this has to do more with Gears of War than any actual issue with APF. Now I know what your thinking " killa WTF you talking about" but to me it seems like people are making issues out of little things in order to have an excuse to quit the league and go off into other things. There is nothing wrong with that but you should just state it out loud. I beaten Hoser bad before but he never did anything too bad only thing he does is pause the game and send messages in game saying "I suck so bad" but once I told him to stop pausing he did. As for the Temptastic thing I played him twice he plays man a lot but I seen him mix zone sometimes so I don't really see what's the issue with his gameplay.

First of all when did playing man 2 man ever become an issue? There are people in the league that play Zone all game long so playing man 2man all game long shouldn't be an issue at all. There are teams in the NFL that play Man 2 Man almost exclusively like the Raiders. The Bump Man that the Raiders play is an in your face defense and that is why Deangelo Hall was cut by the Raiders because he is horrible in Man but he excels in Zones. Like Rod Woodson in this game. I know if you try and come out with generic WR's or your bronze WR's keep beating my secondary than I will go Man 2 Man the rest of the game.

- Wow what an eventful week for NFLP and frankly I almost felt like giving up on this league and shutting it down, but I realized we still have a great thing going. There are more people who want to be in this league than those who do not. We will miss the contributions of Tell and Soonersam as they were great players in this league (and they're always welcome back), but the league will move on.

Thanks Sooner and Tell for your help and participation in the league. You guys were two of the biggest supporters of NFLP and that's why it bothered me personally seeing you two leave without giving me even a chance to fix things. Hopefully you guys will change your mind and come back soon.

- There has been a lot going on and TRUST ME I READ AND SEE EVERYTHING... just as i ALWAYS HAVE. Just because I do not personally reply or you may not see instant results/decisions does not mean I have not handled or will handle the situation. I like to gather facts and take my time to weigh decisions in order to make a fair ruling. So now time to tie up loose ends:

(1) Soonersam vs Birdman - The decision will stand with Birdman as winner since Soonersam is no longer in the league. HOWEVER, if soonersam decides to return (still holding out hope) the game will be reset and Sooner and Birdman will re-play the game as a result of the poll

(2) Soonersam vs Temptastic - Temptastic will be awarded the win if Soonersam does not return. HOWEVER, if soonersam decides to return (a guy can hope, can't he)... the game will be reset. Again, I cannot view replays of any game. So this decision is based on both players violating rules against sim game play.

(3) The score of Ballin vs Number1killah5 was changed due to number scoring an return TD with Terry Glenn who was not a validated returner. The final score was 48-45 Dallas wins, but now is 45-41 PHI wins.

(4) Minh707 and the 49ers will be eligible for playoffs. Tell left with and 6-5 record which is just 1 game over .500. IMO, that is basically a blank slate and currently the 6-5 record puts him 3rd in the West and just out of WC. So if Minh does make playoffs it will be because he earned it.

I think that's all the issues. If there's anything else that is unresolved let me know.

- REVIEW THE SIM RULES AND THE GENERAL FAQ. So quick reminders:

There is NO QUICK SNAPPING, CADENCE, or MANUAL FG/PAT BLOCK. Any of these actions RESULTS in a AUTOMATIC LOSS.

The only banned play is Double Trouble where the corners double man bump the WRs. This is outlawed b/c they continue to bump the WR past 5 yards and PI is rarely called. OTHER THAN THAT THERE ARE NO BANNED PLAYS.

HOWEVER MIX UP YOUR PLAYCALLING.

Also ALL late hits are to be DECLINED unless it results in an injured player or used as a method to stop the clock.

ALSO REMEMBER THE ANTI-RUNNING UP THE SCORE RULE. You must kneel the ball if your opponent has 0 timeouts or PMs you to knee the ball when you have 1st down < 2:00, 2nd down < 1:20, and 3rd down < 0:40.

- I need to look if it is addressed in the rules but for 4thd own plays. Here are the times you can go for it on 4th down:

(1) 4th and 1 or less in your opponents 49 yard or less.
(2) 4th down and any distance when you are between your opponents 30-40 yard line.
(3) Anytime and anywhere when you are down by 3 scores (20 pts is considered 3 scores).
(4) Anytime during the 2 minute warning.

- So guys by Wednesday you need 12 games played. Remember you need 13 games to qualify for playoffs and secure your spot for next season.

Apologize. I didn't check the flow of the game and you are correct that you did not even need to punt once during the entire game. I also was under the impression (it may have been what Ballin said) that the kick off return for a TD was to end the game.

However, the game will BE RESET for both of you to play again.

Reasoning the final score was:

48-41 - Dallas ball.

With an invalidated returner scoring a TD.

There are basically 3 ways that possession could go...

1) You score a TD - final score remains the same
2) You score a FG - you lose 44-45
3) He forces you to punt - you lose 41-48

2 out of the 3 possible outcomes have you losing so for fairness THE GAME WILL BE RESET!!

He returned a kick agaisnt me for a touchdown and I lost the game by either 2 or 3 points. But I know I lost that game by less then a touchdown. So therefore from what you said I should get that win since that last touchdown for the game came with less than 10 seconds left. Making it impossible for him to have won that game if he never of returned that kick.

I interpreted that as if the game winning TD was scored in the final seconds.

So the fact that the kick return TD happened in the 3rd quarter and that number1killah5 scored on EVERY possession makes it an easy decision to reset the game instead of awarding either of you the game.

You can argue all you want Ballin but you are getting a chance to replay a game based on a TECHNICALITY.

Number won the game fair and square, but rules are rules. I mean Glenn wasn't supposed to return a TD but you can't say he had an advantage on special teams b/c he had a bronze returner and you have a gold returner... so in the end it really doesn't impact the game.

Now if he had a bronze returner and you had a generic return you may have more of a case, but that's not the case.

Just be happy that you're getting a chance to replay a game you lost.

He broke a rule that is more of a technicality and not a rule such as cadence or manual blocking a FG/PAT that results in an unfair advantage.

There is no tolerance for cadence or manual FG/PAT blocking as they give team unfair and undefendable advantages. Returning a KR for a TD is not an unfair advantage game play wise. He just did it with the wrong player.

Again Ballin you can argue all you want but you are already getting a good deal here. You are getting the chance to redeem a game you lost. Settle it on the playing field.

The Vikings will be on hold b/c he played 13 games already which is the minimum needed to qualify for playoffs and return for next season. So hopefully Soonersam can return.

As for Juic3d I spoke to him and he said he would finish out the season, but it doesn't look good. So I will begin to look for replacements.

The wildcat is starting to become extremely popular in the NFL especially with the dolphins. You could possibly make a poll for it if you want it in the league. The rules could be simple.

-You must tell your opponent you will be using this formation before the game.
-It falls under the category of a trick play and can only be ran twice a half.

Honestly, you really just need to step up your defensive play calling and stop complaining.

You want top stop the corner route... hot route your CB to play deep zone and stretch the field. If you stay in the same defense the corner route will be open... you can't expect people to attack the part of the field your are defending. I mean you showed a replay of the corner route (BTW not a hot corner route) where you GENERIC FS was too slow in getting to the action after my WR went by your soft zone CB.

As for the fade... I ran it what once or twice? You make yourself open to it when you run a 4-4. It's not a glitch... man to man with no safety help? The game winning TD for myself was scored on the fade route but come twosilk. Let's look at the situation....

It was tie 21-21. I had the ball with less than a minute left. I believe in the game winning play it was something like 2nd and long or 3rd and long and YOU COME OUT IN 4-4!! Why? What is the point in coming out in a 4-4? Why would you leave yourself vunerable with 1 generic CB on an island all by himself?

Really, the only person you have to blame is yourself for your questionable play calling. The corner routes and fade routes only work if the defense doesn't adjust to defend it. The two routes you are complaining about are both deep routes to the outside. Maybe, just maybe instead of complaining about these routes being a glitch you simply - hot route your CB to play deep zone and then shade to the outside! Presto... these two routes can be defended even with generic CBs.

While the hot corner is busted, if its the regular corner most deep zones will do a good job, especially if the CB is shaded outside. The Fade is defensible even against man, if you click back and to the outside. Straight go routes work against zone, and man just not very well against bump and run coverage, which you run a lot of silk. When players play bump the WR's in this game do not make any release moves... Straight Go routes have minimal success against the defense you run, yet you insist people do it.

You can cover both a regular corner, and the fade with either cover 4 or 3 with the CB's shaded outside, and back......

I can say that the success rate of the Fade against me is about 10-15% and usually that comes when I'm napping or I've made an correct adjustment. Actually Flaxwless rarely throws them when we play now, because a lot of times I end up with a pick.

How about you play zone with your CB in a deep zone and shade outside? This stop the corner route and fade route almost all the time. Dtrain is correct Cover 3 and Cover 4 works well too.

Again the only reason you see a lot of corner routes and fade routes IS BECAUSE YOU PLAY DEFENSE SO THAT PEOPLE CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM.

No one else complains about these routes b/c we ADJUST our defense.

THERE IS NONE!!!!!! and i rarely play bump man i do slide down some but even in bump man there is not another route where the db just sits there. The corner route is usually stopped easy by just playing a deep zone you don't have to even shade to the outside...Now if your talking about the 4 wide play where the outside receivers run a post and the inside receivers run the corner than yeah I don't know how to defend that...it's pretty much the most unstoppable play in this game. The fade is another route that can be defended by just running a deep zone. Jerry Rice is the only player I've seen that you can run a fade with against a deep zone...and yeah it's B.S but he's Jerry Rice so do what I do and avoid him.

They know what coverage your running and know exacly where to throw it thats why you got to mix up your plays so your opponent cant pick the same play all the time.

no actually the "holes" in cover two are up the seams, in watching tampa for years the corner hardly ever even gets thrown, because the way the zone works, the cb would follow the wr until the safety is close enough, and then the safety would follow the wr not just watch him pass by. by definition the safety has the responsibility of half of the field not the one spot that he is on.

The games have been simmed and playoff will be advanced once XBL catches up with the website. The simming of games was more difficult than usual because of the many delinquent teams this season. EVERY TEAM who had a game remaining againt Juice/Patriots (2 games), da305kid/Dolphins (5 games), and BaoWao/Cardinals (6 games) received a WIN and it counts towards GAMES PLAYED.

After accounting for those games only two teams fell below the 13 game minimum to DQ them from playoffs and get automatic losses vs the rest of the league. Weeman and the Tennessee Titans with 10 games played and Temptastic and the Kansas City Chiefs with 12 games played. Weeman was given a WIN against NFLHITMAN b/c we know NFLHITMAN refuses to play weeman and Tempt was given a win over soonersam and his Vikings.

How about Progressions based off of games not played? I know Nate Burleson hit the marks for a Silver progression if I get the stats I would have gotten since he had 940 yards and needed 950 yards for Progression. He had the 40 receptions, 20+ YPC AVG, and the yards so he hit 3 categories. John Carlson my TE had 6 TD's and I would have got the 2 more in the other games I would have played since I knew what he needed to progress. Carlson had the yards, YPC AVG, and would have had 8 TE's required to progress.

I do think we should look at the CB progression issues. If you are a great CB people wont throw your way and there fore your stats for the season will be less. Looking at Deion Sanders history of seasonal stats he had 14 years and 8 of those years had 3 or less interceptions because QB's would not throw in to his direction. 4 of those years he had only 2 interceptions and 4 of the other years he had 3. Many years where Deion hovered around 30 tackles for the season with some years where he had less than 30 tackles. I say this because people wouldn't throw towards Marcus Trufant but they would throw at Jennings.

I think the only way to do this properly, would be to look at passing yards allowed, because if a corner is doing his job, and shutting down his man/area his stats will be lower, look at my cb, everybody went away from him since i had a generic on the other side, how is he going to progress, if his man is covered?? That is true but there is really no way of showing how many times the ball has been thrown to each cornerback. Unless you look at the play by play and I dont think Flaxwless wants to look at everyones play by play to see how many times the ball was thrown in that direction. But then there is the arguement well what if that corner wasnt even playing that side of the field at the time? It will be really hard to tell how many times the ball was thrown at a certain cornerback. It is true though if you have a gold CB and the other is bronze or generic you will be looking at his side alot more than the gold. Since I have 2 golds I always attack the weakest side of the field.

LOL I remember watching sounds of the game with Mike Holmgren and it was funny to see his reaction before gametime when he was told by an assistant coach that one of the Starting CB's for the other team was going to be out and he acted like a child getting excited. Holmgren was like who is it, Who is his back up, and than they started the game with 5 straight passes to Darrell Jackson and when they switched the other CB on DJ than Koren Robinson saw the ball. No matter who the back up CB was covering hasselbeck was instructed to throw his way LOL.

This season the Seahawks have given up a lot of yards in the air and it is because every team would throw at Kelly Jennings instead of Trufant. Jennings was getting abused play after play so much so that he got benched because of his pass coverage. Just watch Total Access and listen to how much they talk about how the other teams are beating the Seahawks because they are not throwing towards Trufant. The only time Trufant was not playing great was when he had his arm in a cast and could not hand check the WR.

When I went to the Seahawks game with vegas96 we recorded the game and I told him to use his camcorder and record every time Jennings was out on the field. Every time Jennings was out there they threw the ball at him.
