How do you enable surround sound on PC?

Does anybody know how to enable surround sound on pc? I have a 5.1 speaker system but the game does not use it the right way. I hear commentary from the top center speaker and then the rest of the sound from the bottom right and left. Nothing from the top left and right speakers on my computer desk.

man thats my problem. I have a surround sound system. Its a creative 5.1 speaker system with a sound blaster audigy. all my other games have surround sound support. its a problem with the way the game was made.

Yea, I got that problem 2. And they commentary can't be heard very well but nothing is wrong with my soundcard because I have surround in other games so.

I have the no basketball bouncing sound either, other than that everything works.

Yes i have same problem too.. i have a crative audigy 2 Zs and not take sound basketball bounch.i use vista. i hope the problem will be fix.

yeah man this is the worst problem of the game !! otherwise its perfect, im sure this is very easy for 2K9 to fix!!!

yea, but does anyone know a way to make it so i can hear the commentary louder? i tried tweaking the settings but its like the game doesn't understand where to send the sound. I have 5 speakers and its really annoying to have the bottom two speakers send out all the sound and the top 1 only give me commentary. i am one of those people who likes hearing the commentary the loudest, and everything else quieter. does anyone know a trick to do that?
