Is the ps2 controller compatible with 2k9 for pc?

Hey all,

I have just bought 2k9 and I tried to manage the commands with my ps2 controller that is connected to the pc by an adapter. I went to options/adjustmens of the controller and once inside the menu (at the game), at KEYBOARD/MOUSE, I can not move to any direction the eyelash, as I thought I could configure it like this.
Anyone know if the ps2 controller is compatible with the game or by other hand should I buy another controller like x360? Which controllers (not too much expensive) do you recommend me?

yes u can use the ps2 controller with adapter, i use one but i can move until i choose my controller in the controller setup.

Didn't understand the last part that you said. Where is the place for puting in the controller with which button shot, pass, turbo etc??

I use an adapter with a ps2 controller for this game, but there is problems. I think its only with certain adapters because I've seen where many people haven't had problems, but I've also seen where other people have had my same problem. The problem I have is when I try to set up my controls something weird happens. I can set up the analog directions and the directional buttons, but if I'm not holding one of those (so if I need to assign any other button) it acts like some weird button is being pressed and won't let me assign anything to it. It isn't a HUGE deal because the game is still playable. I just must actually change the settings of my controller through the control panel to match what I want them to do in the game, and I can't assign things to don't have a button on it by default (so I can't double team and a few other things)

So, in the end this game is playable with my ps2 controllers (my adapter allows 2), and I have a fun time playing friends, etc, but beware that your ps2 controller may cause this problem. Its worth a shot though if you have a bunch of ps2 controllers laying around because this adapter works for all my other games fine and the adapters are really cheap (especially compared to an x360 controller)

The adapter model I have is the Super Dual Box Pro (nice name eh?) so maybe try to find something other than that one so you don't have the weird problem with this game. (and i'm guessing you already got something [as this thread is old]) but maybe this will help someone with this problem, or someone knows how to fix this problem and helps me.

or maybe this new patch fixes it and I wasted a bunch of time....

I still have about 7 more hours though... just on overnight.
