Ok, so I've installed Steam so far without any problems (I don't like it at all, but meh thats besides the point). Now on the Steam page, it has NBA 2K9 listed, with the status 'Updating' followed by the % of the update and the speed.

Is this the actual game being installed? Or just an update to the game that already is installed? It's not in my program files folder so I would guess it's being installed for the first time.

Now, the 'Update' is painfully slow, and when it gets to around 20%-25%, a popup comes up saying the game is unavailable, please try again another time, and then the Update restarts itself to 0%. What the heck is going on?

Any suggestions? Please don't scoff at my lack of knowledge if I'm missing something blatently obvious, I'm really not a computer expert. Oh and if you happen to be a computer whizz, please dumb down any explanations you may wish to post :) Haha.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Now reached 37%, looking better now. Perhaps I was trying to launch the game too soon pressing the 'Launch' button? I haven't touched anything this time round.

Check Steampowered.com, and check the knowledge base for "Game Unavailable", that's how I fixed an issue with it.

Thanks. For now I'm just leaving the updating which is now at 69%. Probably my fault for messing around too much trying to launch the game before the update has finished.

I read your email from last week about the steampowered.com and "game unavailable" answer. I have gone to this sie\te but have no idea where to find the "knowledge base" section that you refered to in your email. I checkd by searching but can not find it, Please post the link to this section or provide more details as to where you specifically went to find this information.
Thank you for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!
