So I turn on the MASS 4X. but my screen turns black, and i can only hear the music. I tried to reenter the game. but it still black. I am using Acer 6920G with GeForece 9500m GS video card. Please tell me how can i speed up my game.

get a 4 gig ram, and if you're running it on vista just exit the side bar

try to tone down on the details esp the MSAA as the 9500m GS doesnt that have much power to run with very high settings ;)

get a 4 gig ram, and if you're running it on vista just exit the side bar

why would you give such an advise that would cost him money as easily as that? I have 4 gigs of RAM and Vista64 and running the game, my memory usage did not exceed 2gigs

besides, we dont even know what OS he is running ;)

turning off the sidebar would be a good idea though

dont know if this also has to dow itha frame rate issue,
but I just purchased a new flat panel monitor for my PC and set the settings to 1920x1080 true HD and increased the frame rate from 60 to 75 and the game does not have any lag.

I messed with every other settings and still had lag occasionally, it seems the lag issue has to do with frame rate. can anyone confirm this?

I also have 3 gigs of ram, and nearly 0 other aps and processes running when I play the game.

could you explain some more? how did you increase the framerate from 60 to 75?
what are your PC specs?

^^

I built my PC
have a nvidia geforce 8600gt video card
160 gigs
3.4 mhz
3.0 ram

finally bought a new flat panel monitor. with the new monitor I was able to set the games video settings to higher resolution 1920x1080, which is HD. Once I did that I was able to increase my fps. its all in the video and and advanced video settings in NBA2k9.
with my old monitor I wasnt able to change the fps, because my old monitors resolution was lower. With that monitor I had a setting of 60 fps and couldnt change it for some reason.

Now with this monitor I was able to increase the res and now I have No lag what so ever. Ive played about 6 games without any lag so far. with my old monitor I would get lag every other game. sometimes it was unbearable.

thats why I think the lag has something to do with the fps setting.

Monitors do not have anything to do with the speed of the game. They only display the image that the video card spits out. If your fps increased from 60 to 75, it's because you had V-Sync on and your old monitor was using a refresh rate(V-sync refresh rate) of 60 and your new monitor has a refresh rate of 75. Turning off V-Sync allows your videocard to display the game at a higher framerate if it is capable enough.

As for lag and fps, it's the same thing. When you have a low framerate or fps, the image gets choppy or skippy and is less smooth because the framerate is too low. For some reason, people have started to call this lag. Lag is actually an online term used when a users computer and a server don't have a good connection and when a user performs an action in a game, it doesn't happen immediately on the screen.

^^
with my last monitor I was unable to get a higher fps. the setting was essentially grayed out. Thats why I thought the FPS had soemthing to do with the monitor. My last PC had a maximum resolution of I believe 1280xsomething. my new monitor has 1920x1080 it may actually be higher.
and Im certain the vsync was off with my old monitor just as it is with the new monitor.

lag and fps, is basically what I was explaining, dealing with this game I figured folks used those terms interchangeably.
Regardless since I was able to increase the fps the lag has disappeared, and I couldnt raise the fps with my old monitor. and that had to do with the resolution.

Wow, people are whining that someone told him to buy more RAM? What is it, like $40 for 4GB now?

Yubin,

Sounds like an overheating problem to me. Check your system temperature next time after playing the game for a while.
