Here's the Deal. ESPN College Hoops did not come out just yet in stores i DONT think. I maybe wrong. But anyways, its Dunk Contest seems so Robotic like. Meaning in my terminalogy, it's not really a Freestyle Dunk Contest. You can't be creative. So, I thought of this...

SRY X-BOX USERS BUT THESE CONTROLS ARE FOR PS2 USERS ONLY B/C I HAVE PS2. IF YOU WANT or CAN, YOU CAN CONVERT THE CONTROLS TO X-BOX.

Alrighty then. Since games have the tendency to have a problem with the controling system of a dunking contest, I have just invented the best setup for it. This is how it go's...

1.) Let's just say that you choose Vince Carter as your Dunk Contest contestant, (who has 90 to 95 rating for dunking, ((will hopefully have a 95 to 99 rating for jumping)) he will most likely have a Power Bar that is Slow but long due to his jumping height. (I am mostly comparing this power bar to the ESPN Football Kicking bar) Before you run and attempt your FREESTYLE dunk... you choose where you would like to start off( baseline, half court, or otherside of court, where ever it pleases you. Then, the power bar appears on the top left corner of your screen. You then press X to your desired point. (most likely the highest point so you have more hang time to freestyle your dunk)

2.) After you pick your desired jumping height, (assuming the highest point) it blinks to notify that that's your jumping power for that dunk.

3.) R1 is your turbo (which will increase your jumping range NOT your Jumping height.) and Square is your dunking button, and X is your Jumping button. (To do a "from the FREE THROW LINE" dunk for example)You would hold R1 as you start from the otherside of the court. Use the left analog stick to direct you to where-ever you want (of course straight to free throw line!!!).

4.) As you are running full speed with VC, you press X right before you touch the free throw line. As he's gliding in the air, you then press and hold square. (if you dont in time, he WILL bobble the ball, or it will slip out of his hand. So have GOOD timing when pressing Square!!!)

5.) While you are holding square you must pray that he makes it because as you hold onto the Square button you will have to let it go so he can jam it in. If your too early, he's going to jam nothing but the ball onto the ground, or catch a sprite! However, if you release late, he will bang his wrist onto the rim, and the ball on the backboard!!! So its a timing thing.

6.) Then, after your dunk (if made), you then can taunt with various of buttons. The fans will hold up Number cards grading your dunk, While the Judges grade for themselves. If you dunk repeatedly the same, your score WILL decrease. SO be creative but accurate!

HERE's the controls if you seem lost!!...

ETC. ETC.

Its a FREESTYLE format. You can basically create your own dunk, and NAME it yourself(if you win the dunk contest!). Or, you can achieve dunks that have been in previous dunk contest. From the T-Mac dunk in the All-Star game to the Vince Carter 360, to the MJ free throw line dunk, to many more, these dunks can be achieved. GUYIES on this board. Give me some info on the BRAND NEW DUNK CONTEST format that i have invented. If any suggestions, swing your idea's. Im Out, 100!
