I want to start a scouting thread on gamers that you play and I play. They do this in the NFL so why not here.. Here is my first scouting report....

Benedictine:

Good runner with serious stick skills. Likes to sit in a Nickle cover 2 soft all game long and manually move his safeties down and than manually control the Nickle back. Ways to beat him...... Put 3 or 4 WR's on one side with multiple routes especially short outs. Plays with Ronnie Lott, Browner, Barney, Van Pelt, Brazile and Albert Lewis on defense with Terry Supernaw as his Nickle CB. You can also play smash mouth against him if you have a Gold RB. He has no defensive Line presence and only cover LB's but they do play the run good with Lott's leadership. Against someone like this you should never feel bad about going 3 TE sets and running the ball or 4-5 wide and throw short outs. If someone wants to sit in the same Defense all game than you should use the same offense all game that beats it.

Let me know about some of the people you play also.....

NFLHITMAN:

Very versatile with good stick skills. Likes to play 2 corners in base 4-3 formation if you play pro set. Way too beat his defense is with check downs, slants, hitches, and screens. He loves to pass it more than run. He will use his generics especially his TEs.

Odd player in a good way. For some reason, his generic DBs catch better then any legend DB in the game.

Good at diagnosing playcalling tendencies. Will scramble out of the pocket to buy time for a reciever to come open. Not afraid to do things in the game that few people will try. Will use QB evade, and call plays that you do not see run very much.

Stays within his gameplan, will stick with what is working until you figure how to defend it.

TJSpeaks: Very patient on offense. Makes a great effort in controlling the pace of the game. Takes what is given to him, regardless of who gets the ball. He floods zones very well and has solid timing in the pass game. Plays "bend but don't break" on defense and tests your own patience. You can tell his gameplan is to play solid mistake-free football. He ran a fair amount of pro set against me. Good stick.

I'll do more of these when I have a clearer memory.

Man your safety on his speed receiver every play or pay. He can still beat you six other ways but this eliminates threat number 1. He will now be very effective with his TE, other receiver and running game (be aware of counters). A timely blitz will sack his QB as he likes to roll out, especially on 3rd down. His very effective offensive attack makes it necessary for you to run a ball control offense and slow down the pace of the game. If you have a shootout - he wins. You should be able to run straight up the gut as he usually puts his talent on the outside. Also attack the middle of the field with passes. Many outside passes that work against others get picked.

Best time to play him is late Friday/early Saturday (I think he drinks on Friday night). He also has trouble controlling his emotions so send him a msg about his mother or something in the first quarter to generate some + 15 yard penalties for your side. When you play StupidLester it's half mental.

Freakish Mind:

A great player who runs out of a base 2 soft but loves to hot man/zone his players. Manually controls whichever player he wants, and does pretty well at it. He will moves his safties down to the line to stop the run if he must. On offense he runs a lot of I formation, along with some spread stuff. He will hit you exactly where it hurts, and has a great passing game. He uses a no star running back but keeps you honest to the run game by executing a couple of isos and stretches every game.

I like this thread. Got me trying to remember peoples play styles.

Flax:

Defense:Likes to control either of his outside linebackers...mostly the strong side lb. Likes to man up his FS on the outside receiver. Will sometimes blitz his linebacker...which almost always leads to a sack or a blown play. Don't expect to run iso's,sweeps, stretches to the side he is manually controlling, you may be able to catch him out of position on a misdirection run or a cutback run.

Offense: Likes running out of spread formations usually stretches and counter runs. In the passing game he loves the big play so make sure to have good deep coverage. Likes 4 wide shotgun and will leave a back to chip if you have an exceptional pass rusher.

This guy can't cover Ben Coates to save his life. Just pass the ball to Coates every play (don't worry about 3 or 4 man coverage). You will get negative feedback, but you'll get an easy win.

another good thread idea HITMAN!

This is a flame war awaiting to erupt. To try to avoid confrontation, please confine this thread to discussion of players in your league, not just any random player you play online. At the first sign of trouble, the thread will be deleted and posts of this nature will not be allowed to continue.

BigM- Offense is predicated on running the football...

Stack the box and force him to throw.

Defense is usually a 2 soft 5-10 yard outs corners then when he adjusts posts to the middle.. the short middle is usually open as well.

Guava-

Likes to try and manually shut down #1 receiving threat. Throw to other options TE other wideouts etc. Likes to blitz.. screens kill. likes to shift LBs many a time overshifts leaving open running lanes.
Usually starts out in a 2 soft or cover 2 look then throws in a cover 3 week or strong depending0 on where ur #1 threat is.

Likes to run run run... stack box make him throw.

Lol, no one makes me throw on a down-to-down basis. In fact alot of the time, I'll call a pass, then end up audibling because I see a potential running lane that could open up.

He will switch from a cover 3 or 4. If you have a stud TE expect cover 3 so his LBs will sit and cover the short slant and crossing routes with a FS over the top. If you are a running team expect the same coverages with a FS near the box. He may play nickle, FS or SS to help with the run. Screen passes to RBS with Branching tackles kills this guy. Fade to the outside works when his DB's jam when they should just be coverage. Also, whatch for bad animations this is his Achileus heal. Inside deep out with I pro works well in till he audiables out or his nickleback deciedes to get a good annimation. Will line up the nickleback to the strong side of opponents formation. May bring FS up to the tackle spot or middle depending on formation.

Aquick Assasin-
Likes to run alot. Lives and dies by the run. If you can make him pass and get decent pressure he will have no chance. Be careful though he has a few teams that maybe able to hurt you.

On defense he runs a 3-4 and doesn't play great D. However if you let him stay in the game he has a great 2 min drill to get him the winning FG or score.

Noteable facts. Don't think by letting him only get 4 ypc will matter much. He lives to have long long long drives, and isn't afraid to go on a 5+ min drive to just suck the air out of the ball.

Will use many different looks on defense.
Plays 3-4 as his normal base defense.
Believes in pressure defense.
Knows how to manually use LB's, CB's, and Safeties well.
Uses many different plays on offense and will pound the rock.
One of my favorite players to play against because it feels like real football when I play him.

Yeah now that is a waste.

Noone punts like Ray Guy. He can punt from his 30 and get a touchback. Plus his coffin corner is amazing. Ball hits the 1 yard line and bounces back into play to be downed at like the 3. Also... that team was my True Defensive League team.

wreck1wreckall: Willing to have extra DB's on the field on early downs. Forces you to be patient and run. Manually takes away flats/outside of open field with Lott. Plays a very heavy hot-routed defense. Good stick, can take away obvious routes and plays. Recognizes common plays very well. Doesn't get DL legends (I think).

On offense he runs zone-breaking plays very well and if you are in an obvious shell, he will take the 100% option for yards. He's tough to pressure/rattle. He gets better as the game goes on and he figures out your tendencies. He doesn't make mistakes in the kicking game at all. He covers kicks very well. Would need to jump on him early to handle his 2nd half.

It was a great game. Lots of fun and very defensive. I thought I was going to pull the win when his receiver caught the deep out with his generics. I thought my Generic was going to tackle him to keep him in bounds but my generic CB went crazy which allowed that last second TD.
