Mission statement:
This league is for persons that are looking for a Sim Experience. Your allowed to use 5 ability golds. Instead of banned attributes. This league will Sell them at a premium. The only banned attribute is cadence. You have a total of 16 pts. So spend them wisely.

This league is only for persons with an above 80% lobby rating. By agreeing to be in this league you also agree to playing 3 games per week. The schedule is 16 weeks. I will replace owners that are not active. We are going to use Real NFL teams and you must have a code for you team. I have ran leagues before. I will provide updates,quick stats,and weekly story lines. We will also have a Game of the week feature. I will use this thread for quick stats,game reminders and scheduling. You and your opponent will sign up on the league site for a game writeup by Tuesday.

So when im at work i can do a preview of the game and a result. The page will change and have different pictures often. There is also a 20 dollar Cash award. The winner will have $20 U.S.D mailed to them in a envelope. Must play all 16 games to qualify for award. Replacements will not be in the running for the $$$. Replacements will be able to secure their spots for the next season.

You may Gold or silver anyone as long as they are on the active roster.


When you signup i will need you to pick your team...players and then bracket the pts spent on your players like this.

REZ League is an active NFL sim league. It is expected that each member will play 3 games per week every week and attempt to finish all 16 games in the season win or lose. If you find yourself out of the playoff race, use the games to practice and experiment in a competitive league environment. That's how you can improve! If you cannot play 3 games per week every week and will not strive to complete all 16 games, please do not join this league.



This is a sim league. Please read the rules below. By joining the league you agree to abide by the rules. If you disagree with the rules or cannot follow them, please do not join this league. There are a few changes... everyone please review the rules (note punting rules and banned plays).

You must use accurate uniforms for your NFL teams (there are codes available in the forum). Make sure your road uniform has white jerseys and your home uniform jerseys are not white.

All players must be on the NFL team 2008 roster and have proper height, weight, number etc.

There is no team validation. Build your NFL team with the players you want at the tier you want. There are some abilities restrictions as follows:

Special Note: Gadgets are allowed. 2 a game. The Flea Flicker is considered a gadget and is allowed up to twice in a half. Only twice a Game. This means 2 total gadget Attempts!

Game play:

1: Sportsmanship is a must. If your up big than run the ball and don't run the score up at all.

2: Replays are limited to 3 a half unless your opponent doesn't mind.

3: If you lose to some shady gameplay please take a day to reflect on it when your not so upset before you call someone out or send me a complaint. I will not consider your issue unless a day has passed.

4. You CAN NOT move more than 1 person manually at any time during a play on defense. You need to use in game adjustments like shade in, shade out, Press, & Cover Shells.

Substitutions:

O-Line are interchangeable

D-Line are Interchangeable

LB are Interchangeable and LB's with a Pass Rush Attribute like Sack Master or Pass Rush can play DE in Nickle and Dime Packages.

CB, FS, & SS are all interchangeble and can play any secondary position.

RB's & FB's are interchangeable. FB's can play as TE ala Chris Cooley.

TE's can only play at TE & WR

WR's can only play as a WR

There no 2 way players allowed at all so don't ask.

PUNTING RULES:

We will reuse Brownster14's punting rules which simplifies punting decisions to a 'yes' or 'no'.

Rule 1. A team may go for it on 4th down and inches at any time in the game, whether they are leading, tied, or trailing.
Rule 2. A team may go for it on 4th down and 1 yard if they are past the 50 and inside their opponents territory, at any time in the game, whether they are leading, tied, or trailing.
Rule 3. A team may go for it on 4th down and any number of yards if the line of scrimmage is on their opponents 40 or less.
Rule 4. A team may go for it on 4th down and any number of yards from anywhere on the field if they are trailing in the 4th quarter by any amount.
Rule 5. A team may go for it on 4th down if it's the end of the 2nd quarter and time will expire on the last play.
Rule 6. A team may go for it on 4th down regardless of yards to go or location if it's under 2 minutes in the 4th quarter.
Rule 7. A team must punt the ball or kick a field goal if it is 4th down and Rules #1 through Rule #6 do not apply.

Blitzing:

1: 5-2 Middle LB Blitz is legal since it can be countered. Shotgun Formation, Flat to RB, Slant pass, Max Protect with RB's staying in to block, PA roll outs can counter this blitz well.

2: Secondary players blitzing can be done as much as you want as long as you are not manually controlling them at anytime during the blitz.

3: LB's can be used manually to blitz but can not move closer to line of scrimmage than they are already automatically set at.

Defensive Lineman:

1: You can use any D-Lineman but you can not use the DE to run a stunt and come in untouched at all. This is a known glitch in the game.

2: You can not move a D-Lineman manually at all whether your moving him off the line or back and into coverage before the snap of the ball.

3: D-Lineman special moves like Rip, Club, Bull Rush, and Spin are allowed and are encouraged for you to use since it is part of the game.

Motion Running:

1: You can use motion running as long as the guy you motion clears the end of the line whether it is the Tackle or TE.

2: You can not hike the ball unless your guy has cleared the end of the last person on your O-Line.

Bump Man 2 Man defense:

1: You can play this as much as you want.

2: To counter Bump man you are allowed to put your WR in motion and can snap the ball only when your WR is set 100% to get off the bump like a real NFL team would do. You do not have to wait for the CB to be set but you must allow the CB to at least get in front of the WR.

3: You can also motion your WR off the line of scrimmage to get him a free release off the line by him backing off of the LOS.

Screen passes:

1: You can not run one way and throw back the other way on a screen pass because the camera will be cut off to the point where you can not see the RB to manually cover him.

2: You are allowed 3 screen passes a half so use them wisely.

Routes:

1: Out Routes, Middle post, Double move post should all be used in moderation. I will not ban these routes because there are ways to defend everyone of them even if you like it or not. If the out route and the hot route fade pattern is all your opponent has in his offensive arsenal than you should be able to defend it pretty easy. If you need help learning how to defend these plays or plays that work against them than let me know. Here are a few.

Defending the out route:

1: Shade your CB's to the out side in man 2 man.
2: Cover 2 Hard for short out routes with your CB's shaded to the outside.
3: Cover 2 soft for the deeper out routes with your CB's shaded to the outside.
4: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

Defending the Middle post:

1: Hot zone your safety to cover the middle of the field.
2: Hot zone your ILB to cover the deep middle.
3: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

Defending the Double Move route:

1: Cover 12
2: Manually jumping the route and defending it.

All of these issues are not as huge if you have a pass rush.

Banned plays:

1: Cadence

2: Bunny Hopping

3: Switching defenders in a Flickering kind of way as fast as you can to confuse blockers.

4: Kickoffs can not be kicked off to the side of the field to stop return man from getting to the ball at all. If you don't want him to return it than kick it out of bounds without it hitting the ground. You must kick it down the middle, slightly to the left or right.

5: Punting can not be punted short for the purpose of a muffed punt because you can not take control of your player to stop him from going for the punt.

6. No quick snapping allowed.

7. You can use the QB punt, but you must decline any roughing the kicker penalties.

8. The hot corner route (using the outside WR) is banned in this league.

League issues

1: You can not quit for any reason at all.

2: If there is an issue with game play contact an admin a day after your game has passed.

3: No negative feedback can be given at anytime.

Thanks for your input. And trust me i thought it over. My thinking is that a Qb should have those qualities in general. Also, Pass rush attributes Like:pass rush,sack master,rip,club,spin do not cost anything. Hopefully this will balance out. We will proceed with the way it is and maybe try out your suggestion next season. Unless there is an overwhelming response to it.

Just throwing this stuff out there just in case you want to add it to the league.

How about allowing people to run the wildcat formation since it is becoming a big play offense in the NFL and is clearly extremely popular with many teams in the NFL having a touchdown from it.

Also I think you should make a rule regarding foward laterals since they changed the rule in the NFL. If you get that penatly you have to do an instant replay and both players have to agree if it was really a foward lateral or not. If you dont know they changed it they made it so that your entire body has to be past the line for it to be a penalty instead of just a part of it. So the ball and everything can be past the line as long as you have a foot touching the other side of it.

Also I think having a limit on screens isnt a great rule. If there is a limit to screens there should be a limit to how many times you blitz a quarter to because screens are used to counter blitzing.

I understand your point about the blitz vs screens. I know you are philly and it makes sense to point things out like this. I say Wildcat /Wildhog should be looked at. To me it's a successful gadget.
So we could poll the members and if the result is favorable then it could be done.
About the forward laterals. I'm open to some discussion about this. That would mean every time it happens you and your opponent would have to concur on the meaning of it. I could see this raising some eye brows during league play. As admin my job is to provide a atmosphere for fun play. Having to do this may impede the game play. Lets discuss. I'll post a poll later tonight about Wildcat.

An about the eagles thing ya it is true. Since the eagles blitz all the time people just throw screens all day but there lineman are getting smart now and tackling the running back before he can get out thats why you see alot of balls bein thrown at feet.

Also i remember reading something somewhere that teams are averging like 7.4 ypc with the wildcat.

Brett sucks! He only has the records because of how long he has played this game without missing a game. Remember he also has the record for the most Interceptions also. Brett's Iron Man status wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for all his pain pills he was taking and than had to go to rehab to get off them. He won 1 Superbowl with a great Coach in Holmgren and since Holmgren left Brett he hasn;t done anything while Holmgren made a Pro Bowl QB out of Hasselbeck and took a franchise who has never went to a Superbowl to the Big Game. Holmgren made Brett not the other way around. Holmgren went to Superbowls with Montana, Young, Favre, and Hasselbeck. What coaches has Favre went to the Superbowls with?

Everyone Listen up. The idea was to create a balance in the league.
I've looked at the QB stats and surprisingly enough the League has only 1 Qb with above 60 percent completion percentage. This is due to teams in the league getting good pressure. Run defense is also been very good with the highest avg. is 7.8. That's not high at all. For the most part these numbers are somewhat NFL like. That means so far our little experiment of a 1st season is going off like it should. Keep up the good work and play your games. Khan id like to see more games played. I'm sure you'll keep pace. :)

Thanks Funk. No joke that was one of my best, If not best games to date. I was able to score my points off those two INT's, but couldn't stop you when I needed to. My WR's frustrated me a bit because the ball would be in their vacinity and they would not even make a play on it (with the exption of those two passes to my TE because I lead him too far.)

Khan great game last night. I have never seen a legend go down with an injury during a key pivotal moment. Last night during a play to the endzone. Greg Olsen came up limp during a pass that was intercepted on the last play of the game.
It said he had torn a tendon and was out for 10 weeks. I fixed the injury.

Ps. Khan to bad about the bears i really thought they had a shot...till mike brown went down.
And with my broncos out and coach shanahan fired...it seems like a step back. Lets go Ravens!
Cuz i don't like: Pittsburgh,Indy,or San Diego.

Dude, calm down. We both know the rules. We were just stating that it's unrealistic to real life, but no one said you didn't follow league rules. I would expect Urlacher to be a gold or at least a silver (think you have him bronze) but It's your team build, we were just commenting on It. It's be like if I make the Niners with a gold J.T. O'Sullivan & Gold Arnaz Battle, but like I said, it's your team, to each his own. Just don't get butt hurt when someone comments on your team. Its not so much as players or the attributes I give them. It is testing the CAP player I create to see if i got a good build of that player. Once I and comfortable with a player performance I keep him and once all 11 are good I will than edit my teams over and over again until I get the generics who I think play the best on my team. Sure I won't get all the generics I want but I will edit over and over until I get a good amount of these players and than I leave the team alone and join leagues with them.

The Texans team I created for UFL is going to be one badass team.
