I didnt even know it but 2K did a Fantastic job porting the 360 version of NBA 2k9 for the PC.. and ABOUT TIME since the NBA Live series has STUNK for the pc since the mid 90's... Will MLB follow? There has not been a pc baseball game released since MVP 2005 because of licence issues and various doo dahs's... So this would be a big blessing!

This is all I care about.
A ton of people have been modding MVP 2005 for PC for going on 4 years now. Its about time we get another baseball game for the old computer. If they ported NBA 2K9 for PC.. why not the MLB franchise?
Just keep our fingers crossed I hope.

2K is really missing out by not releasing MLB to the pc. With MVP 05 being so old, and still a large number of people still playing, it would be a smart move finacially, for a pc release. By porting NBA over to the pc, there telling baseball fans that it can be done (and 360 version at that as well). So now it's just a matter of to pc or not to pc.
I'm just waiting for the great news "MLB 2K9 PC to be released..." I hope I'm not waiting in vein.

I think it is pretty pathetic they buy exclusive rights, then stop making it on the most powerful platform. MVP baseball was on PC and it was great, and could be modded to be even better. @k, do the right thing, if yuor gonna buy exclusive rights do not neglect PC and still kake it for PS2 and PSp. Got a 360, but if it came to PC I would get it for betetr graphics and mod potential, better online.

If and when this is possible, I'm sure Ronnie or some other mod will create a sticky about it.

Blix,
I would love to see that add. Is it possible to scan it and post it to the forum? I emailed this week, and 2k said they would "consider all the options," but didn't say either way.
I fully agree with all the comments said thus far. I have played MVP 2005 for many years on the PC, and have loved playing it. I was a faithful customer of baseball games, but they lost me, along with many others.
I just picked up a PS2 for about $30, so I'll be able to play the 2k series for a couple years. Hopefully by then, the series will be available on the PC. I was thrilled to find Top Spin 2 for the PC -- just got that one.

Maybe they don't feel ready for it they still have alot of work to do to improve the quality of the game on the other hand the 2K NBA series is very stable in quality the last few seasons so there was no worry for them to go with the game onto the pc platform first time.
Well if they don't do a PC version this yeat which isn't impossible yet they still have a chance next year but in 2011 the exclusive license will be timed out and the license will be reselled to 2K or EA and I really can't believe EA won't pay all they can for the license.
But when that happens even then there may be no PC version , most of EAs newest sport games were console only version like MADDEN 09 and TIGER WOODS 09 and the reason therefore is the sallery problem on the pc because of the pirating.

I'm sure there ready to bring MLB 2K9 to the PC. According to this German PC mag site:
http://gamestar.de/news//pc/action/3r...90/take_2.html
It is already a done deal. I just got NBA 2K9 on the PC, I was shocked! I thought it would be just O.K.. It is really a great game, $20 is a steal. I'm so amazed at how well the game looks and how great the gameplay is. It is very fluid with no lags. I really hope there is somekind of drive or push for 2k to put sports games on the PC. It would give EA great competition. Alot of people feel that sports doesn't work on the PC, nothing could be further from the truth, the problem is EA keeps porting the PS2 versions over to the PC. Nobody wants to spend $50 for a PS2 port. Thankfully, 2k ported a 360 version, and it is a wonderful start. I hope 2k continues to put 360 port sports on the PC. They would out sell EA everytime if they did.

This is actually the greatest thing that has happened to this franchise since they got the exclusive rights to the game. Even in the event something is wrong with the game, a pc version would most likely be easier to fix/patch. Add to that the pc online gaming community and the ability to modify rosters easier and there may be hope for this game yet. For the first time this year I am mildly excited about something to do with this series.

I really hope the PC version will be online. Nba 2k9 PC is not, although it is still a hell've game on the PC.

Boy that really makes no sense. What is the point of making a game for the PC if you cannot take it online? Poor planning is what it sounds like to me.

Hey CARDS2501,
Your right about the fix/patch solution for the PC. Also, games play much more smooth and solid on the PC than on consoles (IN MY OPINION). I have a PS3, and have played both NBA 2K9 on PC and PS3. The game plays much better on the PC.

I think they rushed the NBA game for the PC. I believe they were trying to get a feel to see if the PC community would even buy it. I would think that 2K didn't won't to spend the time and effort on servers if nobody bought the game. But your right, PC game with no online, sounds like an oxy moron. I also saw that in a German PC gamer magazine that NBA 2K10 and NHL 2K10 are going to be relased on the PC this year.
