Too bad he left after MLB 2K8! This was suppose to be the ultimate game like MVP 05 was (it also had his 3 year plan).

Do you think this will still be a revolutionary game?

I dunno...If you would have asked me after 2K7 I probably would have said yes. 2K8 just kinda went rogue...lol...all over the place. I honestly don't know. I am hopeful about VC taking the reigns though. We'll see.

I can't see how they could possibly get this thing turned around in 1 year. I think maybe there will improvements, but as far as a completely new game, no chance. Not enough time to fix last years disaster

I like some of the stuff they did with 2K8 (new pitching controls, new fielding controls, improved swingstick, AI didn't rob homers 5 times every game, some better animations).

But other stuff took a step backwards in 2K8 (bad online lag, AI didn't steal bases, AI pitchers didn't pitch as intelligently, choppier frame rate, graphics and overall presentation went down a notch)

Plus they removed some cool things such as the Skybox (where you could view your trophies, awards, unlock bonus stuff) and they removed the Base Runner view where you could control the runner directly, and they removed the nice controls for picking off runners where you could control the pickoff more accurately in terms of height.

If 2K8 would've been 2K7 plus the new features of 2K8, I would of been cool with it......but instead I wasn't exactly thrilled. 2K8 is decent, but not as good as it COULD have been.

So my hope is that every step taken in 2K9 will be a step forward. If so, I'll be very happy :D

Don't let us down 2K!! :)

Supposedly Brinkman's leaving had to do with location and hiim wanted to stay near family and not move to the new location but who knows. But anyway i dont think Brinkman could of saved this game without totally revamping the system like NHL2K did.

Models and faces were ugly, stadiums were rehashed, animations were garbage, new features were garbage, framerate was garbage, graphics overall had promise in 2k7 but failed in 2k8. lol i mean honeslty how is anyone let alone GOD himself fix this mess of a game, withought starting from the ground up. Brinkman did the best he could. Hopefully if 2k was SMART they would work from the ground up hell with the features create a player ownership all that garbabge that wastes time and money and focus on a game that we can actually play, no glitches, you know what i dont even care if the all have the same faces.

Give me the color of the guy with the size, give me accurate stadiums, nice models, lighing grass textures and amazing mocap like sony's babesball game and i would be sold. The early WSB's games had nothing for so called "cool things" but the games played a hell of a baseball game and thats why it got great reviews and is still adored by baseball fans. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD 2k give me a baseball game i can honestly play.
