I've been waiting till this patch to get the game. I plan on getting it today, but I do most of my gaming online and it's not worth it if I'm going to have to resort to cheesing to do any good. I play Madden and I hear people complain about cheesing and I can play sim against anyone and be successfull because I know the game of football and I can play the right D and I know all the controls to adjust.

Now, is all the cheesing I read about real or is it people just not making proper adjustments and not knowing how the controls fully work? Some things that worry me about this game is people going crazy with a superstar and scoring 50 pts a game consistently. For example, how does a box and 1 do against players like this? If I sag either manually or with the CPU and force him to take the outside shot will that stop the spin move?

Well my question is can a good sim baller who knows the game of BB and knows all the controls to the fullest beat a good cheeser?

Before the patch the NBA 2k9 sliders were cheesier than Live IMO, for the first time I've ever seen, afterwards it's much better.

There will always be cheese from gamers all I ask is that the sliders from the company not be cheese sliders and there's balance between fun and simulation. There's has to be a counter to everything. There are some holes, but NBA 2k9 after the patch does pretty much as good as can be expected.

It's not like back in the day though where you were rewarded for running plays. I remember it was like that I think in 2k6. Now it's all about 1on1 play on the perimeter or post, more perimeter after the patch.

Bottom-line though I would not hesitate to buy the game. I play exclusively online unless I'm on the practice court and it's an amazing game, definitely the best basketball game I've ever played. It grew on me to be a decent experience even with the arcade sliders they had initially.

They should never make that mistake again. If people want to play with arcade sliders that's what streetball is for.

Yes. Most times than not, you should win.
