since we can't find out anything about the game let's speculate..... haha.

what do we think the team ranks will be in the new 2k9. how much love with the yankees get.... will they give the world series teams what they deserve.... will k-rod be a 99?

The Yankees will be overrated. The Rays will be underrated. K-Rod shouldn't be anywhere close to 99.

haha what a joke this is the yankees just signed mark texiera wow put that rating up to 100 eric wow now let them get manny and i swear baseball needs a mandatory cap, 1 more big signing by them and imma flip can you say number 1 team thats gonna b used online already. my 2 main teams imma be using online and franchise with is the cubs and watever team manny goes to now if thats the yankees then o well but yea and im not gonna put up my top 5 rankings. this is just a thread thats gonna lead to a bunch of argueing and disagreement but nonetheless can't wait to see what people say. and no krod is not a 99 but hes a 94 95 and should b the highest rated closer in the game

as much as i hate to say it the stinking Yanks will be the highest rated..if it was possible i would say they would be rated a 105...but yeah with CC, Burnett, and Texieria...ughh 100 for them....i think the mets will be a solid 5 with their bullpen acquisitions..and espically if they get Lowe..higher if they get him and manny or him and Ollie Perez

my top 5 right now are:
1. New York Yankees (CC Burnett, Tex, A-rod make them hard to beat)
2. Boston Red Sox (very consistent, they'll do it again this year)
3. Chicago Cubs (always rated at the top)
4. Philadelphia Phillies (WS Champs...Howard, Utley, Rollins..if they get more pitching they are top 3)
5. New York Mets (very solid bullpen now w/ K-Rod and Putz, good young hitters)

theres no freaking way krod should be the highest rated closer in the game. he wasnt even the best closer last year. brad lidge was. brad lidge was perfect in the regular season and the playoffs.

scoreboard for brad lidge.

Closers: Lidge 95, Papelbon 93, Rivera/K-Rod 91

Just my speculation on that.

If you guys actualy think signing 3 guys, 1 of which won't even make it through the year, makes the yankees the best team in baseball then you obviously dont know much and your just going off of pure reaction.

The Rays havent lost anyone and if anything they will be better because of Price replacing Jackson. They still have one of the best defenses and basically the same bullpen and offense.

The Red Soxs lost no one. Still have great pitching and defense. Their offense could suffer with Ortiz and Lowell getting up their in age.

The Yankees: Added CC, Burnett and Tex. Ok so their offense may be better but they still lost Abreu, Giambi, and Posada is a major question mark. Jeter is declining. They get a number one in CC but remember CC wasnt great in the Al last year. He will be good but dont look for another 1.8 era. Burnett? Please 4.04 era, constantly injured, won more than 12 games once. Wang decent. 4/5? Joba and Hughes?

If we are going to start discussing player ratings instead of team ratings, then this thread will be merged with the other thread that was already created for that topic.

Keep it on team rankings. If you want to discuss player ratings, then see that other thread. http://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196117

nobody (atleast im not) is saying the yankees are the best team in the game when i say in th game i mean life baseball but in the game as in mlb 2k9 the yankees will b the best team and the most used team... now in life baseball with these signings i think this vaults the yankees above the rays before the teixeria signing it went. 1. REDSOX 2. RAYS 3. YANKEES but after the teixeria signing it goes 1. REDSOX 2. YANKEES 3. RAYS, the rays arent gonna sneak up on anybody and people are gonna be ready for them this year they are gonna b good and between the three its gonna come down to the last month prob. Nobody is gonna run away with the division
