This game was my first competitive gaming experience. I played ROM versions over the internet within fully customizable rosters edited to current NFL players.... it was a blast! Played it on the ol' 56K modems.

One of the best football games in history. Had an offensive/defensive interaction different from any game of any era. The "Picked play" system offered an interesting metageme, while excelent gameplay keeps it in play today.

I'm personally a fan of the All-Star ROM. Has the greatest players of the franchise playing together. It's like an 8-Bit All-Pro.

I just bought a Ds and tecmo bowl kickoff about a month ago. I went back and customized the rosters to be exactly like Tecmo Bowl in 91. It is bad to the bone.
It you have the free money and don't mind playing a hand held game I sugest picking it up.
