I don't know why multi-route isn't available in ranked online games. It doesn't make any sense. The issue occurred in 2k5 and I thought it would be fixed in 2k8. Only being able to change one player on Offense doesnt make any sense especially since real life QB's change RB's , WR's routes all the time. ie. Manning.

If there is an update to this game mult route should be one of them.

Want some ham with your cheese?

Can anyone imagine the absolute circus this game would be with multiple hot routes?

Basically, it would degenerate into 4 and 5 wide sets, everyone running slant-outs. Most, if not all of them wouldn't be covered. Oi. Either that, or go 4 wide, outer receivers slant-out, slot receivers square-out.

The original poster has a point, but with the coverage breakages...no. Maybe next time, but no.

how would that be cheese? If this game is supposed to be realistic then mult-routes should be included. Do you think Manning or any other NFL QB is allowed to change the route of only ONE receiver?? In regards to every receiver running a slant route the AI should setup to defend the play if the right defence is called. If slant routes are that exploitable that brings up a bigger issue of the game mechanics.

coverage breakages occurs because the incorrect defense is being played. Pick the right defense and any play can be stopped. The problem with this game is most players play one defense scheme regardless of the situation.

OK

What defense IN THIS GAME would cover slant/out combos on BOTH sides of the field with a hot corner to the wide side of the field?

It depends on the situation. There isn't one play that would stop everything. Besides if someone has 4 WR's hopefully your picking a defense that would defend against that formation i.e. dime.

If someone decided to have 4 or 5 WR's there is not enough time on the play clock to change all the routes for all of them. And not every WR will be open or be a star player. Add to the fact you can't pick a play 3 or more times throwing to the same receiver without the D automatically adjusting; having multi-routes wouldn't necessarily be an advantage. You can adjust the DB's and LB's to certain areas of the field. You can also double team certain players presnap. So the D isn't helpless against multi routes.

What he's trying to say is that prior to your arrival, one of us actually tried to find a zone coverage in this game that would cover the hot-routed slant out. There isn't one.

If it were possible to allow multiple hot routes, you would see it being called on both sides of the field, guaranteeing a completion every time.
