Do many people still play this game? I'm interest in it after being severely disappointed in Madden 2009. I know it's a year old, but the videos look great. The graphics aren't quite as good but the animations and gameplay look far superior.

So, how many people still play? Are there leagues available online still or has everyone moved on to bigger and better things?

There remain a few players but they are complainers. After playing Madden I have returned to APF as it is a more enjoyable game that allows you to determine players skills, graphics still do not take a back seat to Madden.

Yep, just downloaded the demo and the gameplay is just about as good as I thought it would be... Wonder where I can buy it...

Anywhere used games are sold. The Gamestop in my area has about 10 of them just sitting in their "Old sports games nobody will buy" bin.

That said, the fill game is far better than the demo, the demo was too short and team customisation is somthing you miss out on in the demo.

Do they players constantly say the same thing in the demo? I heard about 50 of the following:

I hope they come at us the same way. -from defense
Look alive. -from Offense

I love when the QB calls the play in the huddle, but he always says 'look alive'. I only heard something about blocking after a sack.

I know some people are complaining about the gamespeed. It does feel kinda slow, but it seems much nicer to play that way, easier to control, etc...

Couple of questions, is there a coach mode? Probably not, but just curious. Thanks.

Found 2 copies today both for 9.99, what a freakin steal. Got one for me and my brother. His, lucky *******, has the manual, so I read it as fast as I could when dropping it off... So much customization ability with the defensive schemes... I love it.

Wants for 2k0 (assuming they stick to their word of every other year)... Franchise mode, ability to enable unique pros in league where you build your team in a draft and have trades...

the game speed is approiate. every player doesnt have hands and speed of a WR. Thats why I hate madden. LBs cover like C. Bailey. Its a funny thing i use to be a Madden fanatic! I played APF 2k8 once and thought is kinda of lame. until I learned how to play. i.e playbook manger etc. this FB game really has deep gameplay mechanics. where is madden has all these pre-snap gadgets that ends up being confusing at times APF 2k8 delvers real football action that cant be matched. If played by sim rules

are you on ps3 or 360?

i played madden 09 last week for ps3 & 360....the offensive line play kills the game for me.

hopefully we get an apf 2k10

Completely agree that the speed is appropriate.

For the record, I'm on the PS3. There were many things about Madden I disliked, including OLine play.

I found some sliders at OS that I'm using with small adjustments. I created a team of almost all defensive star players (to try it out)... lost my first game quite handidly, but won the second 17-6.

I haven't even begun to get into all the pre-snap adjustments, I normally just line-up and snap the play because I can't remember all the adjustments from the manual.

Definitely not a cheeser btw...

the default speed is slower than 2k5. Fast feels great but you cant play fast in ranked games. Overall the gameplay is the exact same as 2k5 with little improvements except for sideline catches. The best part is your playbook which you can customize. My biggest disappointment is the too much animation during gameplay and not enough manual player control.

Glad to see another person come over from Madden. The only reason Madden is played by more people is because of the nfl players, not because it's the better game.
