Any advice for getting the safety involved in the backfield, such as line stunts or formations/plays?

I've expirimented with coverage shells to bring him down with mixed results, so how can I get the most out of the safety blitz?

Give them Pass Rush Bonus. The best at it in the game is Leroy Butler.

Give your opponent some cover 3 and 1 looks in the game and eventually send the safety. Manually controlling him wouldn't hurt, the pressure should be quick if you come free. Sending DB's out of nickel and dime can work well too especially against rollouts, players who drop back particularly far or ALWAYS scramble away from where you are.
