It's time for me to get back to my real job. This "moderator" gig was only a temp thing for me and has gone on longer than expected. I know I haven't been the best spokesperson but anything I said out of line was out of my own frustration with the PS2 online situation.

The other night I bought some carne asada nachos and got home to discover there was no carne asada. For $2 worth of carne asada I drove all the way back and had them make me another batch, correctly. As I was driving home the second time I thought about the correlation with NFL / NHL. Granted, it's infinitely more difficult to make a client-server game work "perfectly" for everyone on the internet than it is to put carne asada on nachos, but while the nachos I got the first time were perfectly edible, what I really wanted was the carne asada and I was ****ed they forgot it. As a game developer I'm more forgiving of faulting games because I know firsthand that there is way more involved than a few programmers and artists trying to make a cool game, but to the end user none of that matters and that is something I have overlooked.

I, personally, am terribly sorry things did not work out right at first and have failed to get much better for those of you having the disconnect problems. I would much rather be actively trying to fix the problem than playing moderator, but the servers and network are with Sega.com so things are in their hands.

The state of things remains the same and that is Sega.com is continuing to look into the server / networking problems on PS2. All I know for fact is that 20-25% of the games played end in disconnects (gleamed from the server logs) and that Sega.com believes it to be a result of one or more poorly configured ISP networks (in the sense that they don't handle our pattern of network traffic well). As I learn more I will make announcements in the "Official News" board. If you have technical difficulties / questions about the game use the tech support link on the "Contact Us" page. If you haven't filled out the PS2 online tech support for with your ISP and home network config, please take a moment to do so.

Peace.
