View Full Version : Where Are The Reviews!?

Sooooo, yeeeeah... it's release day, yet not only can I not find the game in any stores, but I can't find more than one or two reviews to read about the game. Heck, there weren't even very many PREVIEWS on the net about this one. What's up 2k? Do you want to sell any games to anyone outside of your circle early adopters, or are you truly happy having such a minuscule customer base?

Seriously, after last year's 2k baseball debacle, I figured you guys would operate in a manner that companies who want to stay in business would operate in. I can't complain about the games yet - my fingers are crossed that they're great - but you gotta embrace the proven powers of MARKETING if you want to actually have people own your products. Or is the game so bad that you don't want to send any advanced copies to the media for them to review? I'm sorry, but I just don't understand.

Sorry to sound so doom and gloom, but the only reason I have my 360 is to play baseball games. I look forward only to spring releases for this very reason. It's fun to read reviews and get excited about a new title, but when you're dealing with 2K Sports that pleasure is put out to pasture.

The game comes out tomorrow not today. This is why you can't find it....

You're right, man, and I know that too. I guess I'm just a little peeved at how the video game industry likes to advertise a particular release date, only for it to really launch the day after.

In the case of FOM, everything I've read has reported Jan. 26th as the day it would be sitting on store shelves.

well it's not mis-information really. The date is normally ship date. Meaning shipping to stores. If you where going to buy the game from 2k they would ship it on the 26th

Then what they need to do is give the shipping date to the stores and advertise the for sale date to the customers. Otherwise, their marketing is just taking advantage of a technicality in order to build up a frenzy in those who wanted it on the advertised date. In my book, that's just not cool.

Granted, but all game companys are doing this now. Not much the public can do.

If this is the only reason you have a gaming system it pains me to say (as a former 2K baseball loyalist) you have the wrong system.

not really, if he likes gameplay over other things then 2k is where its at. Using buttons to hit/bat/field is so 2007. Get with the Times over there on the show and maybe it'd be funner to me.

They have it on the shelf at my local Wal-Mart, they recieved the shipment this morning, a friend of mine is a Store Manager so he is holding a copy for me, but I'm a little reluctant since there still isn't a great in-depth review from a hardcore baseball fan...

The sites that have had their hands on the game have DOGGED the crap out of it. So I won't be buying it until I see more reviews first, and see what the general public thinks of the game.

I WISH I could get The Show but I own a 360. It was tempting to buy a PS3 for the game, but I'm not shelling out $400 on a PS3 just for 1 game.

Not a chance.

Not always babyboy1124. The show is really the only one that is even close to being better. The rest are made on both consoles and usually the 360 versions are always better.

hmm, lately I guess it always used to be that the PS version was better.. but I have been more and more only into the baseball games.. madden used to be better on PS when I played madden and the baseball and hockey games out now are better on PS3.

Madden is way better on 360. I've played well over 24 hours of gameplay on both consoles of Madden 09 and 360 is better for sure. I have played quite a few multi platform titles on both consoles and 360 wins most of them, I think because the PS3 versions are ported from the 360 ones or w/e.

Yeah the games are usually identical looking and playing wise it's just one usually has frame rate issues or something along those lines. Gameplay on multi platform titles is really barely any different, although I noticed a big difference on madden. The gameplay is much faster on ps3 the players all seem faster and such. It's way to fast paced, on 360 it seems slower and way more realistic.

Is this game out in Canada yet, we were on schedule to get the same release date but I can't find at my local gamestop!
P.S. When is dev diary 3 about the leagues coming out?

OMG. No place has it. Gamestop keeps saying "tomorrow," "tomorrow," "tomorrow..."

I think I'll just pass on it now and go back to OOTP9. This is ridiculous. Nobody is giving us any real information (A) about the game or (B) about release.

Actually it's stated all over, It shipped yesterday Jan. 26th. Which means that some places MAY have it today, but most will have it tomorrow the 28th. Best Buy has the 28th as their expected release date. Most online sites are saying 28th or 29th.
