I love how people say Walmart has it, but the nationwide website of walmart.com says the game isn't even in stores. I called about 5 walmarts within a 50 mile radius and none of them have it which is in the Washington DC area.

Walmart is second on the priority shipping list from the 3rd party warehouses. EB/Gamestop ship out Monday while all other stores including walmart, Best Buy, etc start shipping on Tuesday when the orders are processed. This is the case with most every game except games with a specialty release date or midnight release.
There will always be some exce[tions based on store proximity to the distribution center and shipping lanes.

Eb and Gamestop pick up the product on Mondays directly from the DC. They then take it to their own DC and complete orders as well as ship to brick and mortar shops. So dependent on where you live you could get it tomorrow via ground or Wednesday. Unless you paid for overnight shipping of course, then you definitely have it tomorrow.

Not True. Walmart is not "second priority" to the gaming stores....thats silly. They are the biggest retail store in the WORLD...you wouldnt **** on them like that. Reason walmart, or any store, doesnt have it yet is because is shipped yesterday (monday). So even though your walmart store is 24 hours (in most places) they still wont get their shipment until regular delivery time today (tuesday) the same as the gaming stores. Its next day shipping for everyone....dont know how much "more priority" a gaming store can get.
So if you know when your gaming store gets its general delivery (mine is at 11am) then thats when the game will arrive.
For walmart, they usually stock their shelves in the evening...so even if the game is delivered in the morning (likely) then it wont be ON SHELVES until the evening. Just ask the walmart clerk in electronics to go in the back and get it...i have done this in the past.
Hope this helps.

In the distribution world...YES, Walmart orders are second priority because they are done through a fullfillment process rather than full skid. All product is picked and pulled for EB and Gamestop on Monday and they pick the product up at 3 PM EST. Once that product is done, ALL other stores orders are then processed INCLUDING Walmart, Toys R US, Best Buy, etc.
Gamestop/EB does its own distribution once they pick up the product. As for all other orders...Once EB/Gamestop is processed then all other orders are picked and processed in a sorter with 2 DAY shipping. Not overnight. Some may receive it on Tuesday, but most will get it Wednesday or Thursday dependant upon the time their specific order was processed. This includes internet orders as well.
I have worked in the field for the past 10 years and shipped all of your favorite games over the years. I just tried to provide accurate information since I have been the shipping/warehouse manager for a 3rd party distribution center for most of those 10 years. So takes it for what its worth.

While I have worked in the field for the past 10 years and shipped all of your favorite games over the years, I am sure someone will figure out some sort of rebuttal since there are plenty of know it alls on these forums. I myself just tried to provide accurate information since I have been the shipping/warehouse manager for a 3rd party distribution center for most of those 10 years.
Thats why I posted, was because although you deemed your information "accurate", it unfortunatly isnt true in all cases. So that is why I posted.
I can assure you, here in Massena, NY where I live, they do not go and get the "product" on monday. Maybe in bigger cities they do that, but again, that is not giving them "priority", its just THE STORE doing extra to get it sooner. Either way, your theory does not hold true in all situations....at least not here in Massena, NY. So as your post implies its the "rule", it certaintly is not.....merely a suggestion.
But who cares, we will all have the game today anyway, if my Walmart here in upstate NY will have it...surely every walmart in the U.S. will have it....I live in the woods.

Nerdy? Just stating everyday business that I have been doing for many years.
Anyhow, your retail product for your area goes to the Gamestop DC facility in New Jersey. So if it shipped ground it would still arrive Tuesday. But EB and Gamestop ship overnight to all their brick and mortar as far as I am aware.
I guess the bottom line is....Tuesday/Wednesday has always been the day that most stores recieve noew titles. Its been this way for many years, yet we still get posters wondering what the heck is going on.
BTW.... I HATE THE YANKEES!!!! :)

Perfect example of how your "years of experience" obviously has led you astray. My gamestop does not have the game, yet my walmart does have the game. Nice priority for the gaming stores.
Gamestop in Massena, Ny (no game) 315-764-5217
Walmart in Massena, Ny (has game) (315) 769-1072
There you go, told you that gaming stores have no more priority over anyone else....actually they have LESS PRIORITY. Go look at any big game or console release...walmart will have almost 50 consoles...while gaming stores have only like 20......or gaming stores run out of top titles, but walmart has like 100's available.
Sometimes the amount of experience you have, in your case, the shipping industry, still doesnt serve you well.

I've had no luck with Gamestops.. in fact, all of them have been telling me the same thing "did you pre-order it? If no one pre-orders something, often times we won't get the item on release day".
Granted, I'm looking for the PC version not the XBOX/PS3.. I don't imagine Walmart to be any better when it comes down to the PC version either.

Just because walmart has it before your local Gamestop does not mean the product left our DC before the Gamestop's left. As I stated, Gamestop picks their product up directly from the Dc and takes it to their own facilty. They ship then to the brick and mortars as well as complete their orders. I guarantee you that Gamestop takes first priority out of our door. What happens after that is on them.
Walmart orders ship directly from our DC to their stores via fulfillment. Meaning, Gamestop's 2 step process may not be faster in the end, but the product still left our facility before Walmart. Simple concept. Folks can take the information as they like. If someone chooses to not believe it or feel it is inaccurate then so be it. Nothing I can say or do about that. At least its out there.
