Okay, Bat**** Crazy #1:

Nov 4. Brewers sign C.C. Sabathia for $28M per year for 5 years.

Bat**** Crazy #2:

Nov 4. Dodgers sign Manny Ramirez for $24M per year for 4 years.

Since when has Boras ever had a player sign a contract immediately? Big players like that, an agent will play teams against each other.

What player ever jumps at the first contract they see? Even Sabathia didn't leap at the initial $140M offer by the Yanks.

I'm playing the Yankees and their 3 major acquisitions resign immediately, without even testing the waters?

I can't take the game seriously.

How so?

Can you imagine any circumstance in which the Brewers would sign anyone for nearly $30M per year???

Maybe if I was available.....But then again I hate Miller Beer and people from Wisconsin in general...Although there was this one girl.....

My point was that ity might be asking a bit much to expect the players to have personalities to that degree.....

For me, the most important aspect is A.I.. and gameplay stuff.....For a lot of people it wil be trades, contacts, etc,etc

They are both very important

Furthermore, you can't even try to sign players on the first day - teams get first crack at players without them even considering other offers - huh?

The Brewers offered him a $100 million dollar deal before he signed with the Yankees. I'm not sure if it was 4 years, 25 mil per year or 5 years 20 mil per year.

I don't need to imagine a circumstance where the Brewers would offer someone nearly $30M per year since.....well......it happened.

However, I agree that both Manny and C.C. signed too early in the game.

Did you notice every major free agent signed in the first day?

Every. Free. Agent. On. The. FIRST. Day.

In other words - wanna improve your team? Trading is the only option. Good luck.

Tremendously bad.

Oh, and what happened with the Milwaukee offer? Did Sabathia accept it right away? Did he accept the YANKEE offer right away?

Did Teixeira accept the Angels' offer right away? Burnett?

By the way, when every single free agent that is even remotely worth acquiring signs with their old team - which is quite simply idiotic in extreme - it means you MUST sign your old free agents, no matter how craptastic they are - and you're forced to give them what they want or else you'll be left with nothing.

Sort of like a MLBPA-driven reserve clause.

Why won't you listen to the man instead of bashing him? Don't you see this as a major flaw with the game? Having every major free agent signing on the first day is ludicrous, and horrible design. I am, among others a 2k fanboy (we admit), but this game has horrible design and major flaws.

Wake up and smell what you are shoveling.

In the career I started every major free agent did not sign on the first day. In fact after the Nov 15th waiting date passed I had CC, Manny, Vlad, Chipper, Sheets, etc. available as FAs.

I haven't had that problem. Jonah is an EA Fanboy.

I'm sure it will vary from season to season as you play. At least with OOTP, if a player is happy playing somewhere and gets the contract he wants, he's willing to take it without shopping around. The Brewers have a young winning team and offered him the money he wanted, what else would he want?

Yes, it's a problem when EVERY free agent signs but as DD has proven, it's not always the case.

And my guess is, 75% of the people who buy this game and go directly to owning the Yankees will last no more then a month or two with it. Most will get upset when they can not buy every player they want and win every season. The people who go straight for teams like the Giants, Reds, Brewers, Rangers, Twins, etc. (teams with a smaller budget and good young players) are the ones I'd rather play in online leagues against. Simply because you know they seem more willing to build a franchise and stay with it.

Where you offering CC an opt out clause after 3 years like the real Yankees did? After throwing 500+ innings the last two years and close to 8,000 pitches that opt out clause for him is looking great. If he's injured because of the last two seasons he keeps his contract for the money. If he's not injured, he opts out and asks for more money.

I took over the White Sox. I only put in bids for Manny and Sheets but it was my first run through and learning how everything worked. So Manny took a bigger offer somewhere else and i did end up signing Sheets. Im pretty pleased with most everything to this point actually.

in my season with the Mariners the only players to sign in the first day were Ben Sheets with TB and Sabathia with Mil. Manny, Tex, Garland, Penny, Chipper were out there for a good while.
