Hey guys wondering if anyone can help out, probably a bunch of us struggling with the same thing. I signed Vald in the offseason and yet can not get him into the batting lineups or do anything with him. It appears that he is on my 40 man roster but not on my active roster and I cannot figure out how to get him to be able to play. If anyone can help that would be great, wondering if I have to restart and make sure that i have space on my active roster not just my 40 man roster before signing free agents.

Yes! I need to know this too! I'm having the exact same problems. I signed JJHardy and he appears on the 40 man roster but he cannot be put in a starting role no matter what I try. HELP!

After you move him over from pending, go to the Extended Roser option and you can move him onto your active mlb roster from there. He will then be available.

Just another reason why this game sucks. You have to go through so much trouble to do the simplest tasks.

Sigh. Well that gets them in the roster but I can't actually assign any of these players as starters in the depth charts. All I can do is add them as one of the backup spots. God this game sucks.

To get player as a starter you need to edit your LINEUPS and insert the guy in, then he will be listed as #1 on depth chart.

I'm struggling with this too. Any player that I have on my 40 man roster, but not on the 25 man roster isn't available to any of my teams. I'd like to be able to play them in AAA, but they are just stuck on the 40 man and not playing anywhere.

That's a huge glitch that you can have unassigned players on the 40-man (who are not injured). Maybe they're all on the bereavment list. ;)

Seriously, that's a huge problem, apparently if I want to have young prospects on the 40 they can't be in AAA.

I am about to start spring training and I cannot use more than 25 players. The extended roster doesn't work because I can't move more that 25 guys over to my active roster. How do you have 40 players available when you set lineups and pitching rotation??? anyone??

use your extended roster. u can switch guys between available and reserve. u can only have 25 active players as far as lineups and pitching rotation goes, but you have another 15 on your reserve list. if u switch them prior to the next game, u can then insert them as starters.

Thanks daddydunc, that's the first answer which makes any sense at all. It still sounds ridiculous to me that I can't have 40 players available for every spring game. the whole point in spring training is to see how everybody performs and rest your big name guys. Under the current game, you will still be forced to play your big name guys for nine innings in March, which real teams never do.

That still doesn't fix the problem that I can't move players from my 40 man roster to AAA to actually play in games. If I do try to move them, then I waste an option on them, which doesn't happen in real baseball during the spring.

I manage the Cubs and have Lee and Hoffpauier on the 40 man roster with Lee as the starter. Hoffpauier is the firs man on the bench and he never shows up to be able to pinch hit in any games. When I switch him to start that is fine but then Lee disappears.
It seems like this is aglitch with the first man on the bench. ANY HELP GETTING AROUND THIS?
