The New York Yankees are looking for their 27 th World Series title, they made 3 BIG contracts this offseason, : CC. Sabathia LHP, A.J Burnett RHP, and the 1st Baseman Mark Teixeira.
But 3 Big players are gone: Bobby Abreu (LAA), Jason Giambi(OAK), Mike Mussina (RETIRED).

http://i44.tinypic.com/258z88i.jpg And on their first day as New York Yankees, CC and A.J. played a game of catch.
The $243 million the Yankees invested last winter in two pitchers, Carsten Charles Sabathia and Allan James Burnett, the yanks are going to play with one of the best pitching rotations of the league.
Adding Sabathia, who was unhittable while pitching the Milwaukee Brewers to the playoffs last fall and finished fifth in the National League’s Cy Young voting despite spending just a half season in the NL, and Burnett, whose 231 strikeouts led the American League in 2008, would seem to tilt the balance of power in the AL East back toward the Yankees.

Yanks optimistic on Wang's health
http://i41.tinypic.com/rvaejo.jpg
Each time Chien-Ming Wang climbs to the top of a big league mound, work productivity halts a world away, as the Taiwanese icon tkes ownership of the national spotlight in half-inning intervals.
A freak Lisfranc injury in his right foot last summer changed all that. When Wang hobbled off the field on June 15 in Houston, hurt running the bases :(
In front of Yankees manager Joe Girardi and the club's coaching staff, Wang showed off his recovery from a bullpen mound at George M. Steinbrenner Field, earning enthusiastic waves from catcher Jose Molina as his offerings pierced an imaginary strike zone.
"It's very good to see him out there," Girardi said. "I knew that he had thrown after the season, but obviously you want to see him coming into camp healthy and feeling good. It's something that we'll watch very closely, but he looked good to me today and didn't look like he favored his foot at all."

SWISHER,NADY WILL COMPETE FOR STARTING JOB
Sun Feb 22, 2009 11:43 am EST
Yanks' Swisher, Nady will compete for starting jobWhile most of the starting jobs for the New York Yankees appear etched in stone, there is at least one that will be up for grabs according to the New York Daily News: right field.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Nick Swisher, acquired from the Chicago White Sox during the off season, will be given the chance to challenge Xavier Nady for the the starting job in right field, replacing Bobby Abreu. Nady, however, was never told his job was up for grabs.
"I haven't met with anybody," Nady said Saturday. "This is the first I've heard of it. I'm planning on helping this team win and being a part of the lineup."
Girardi reiterated Saturday that the job is there for the taking, a competition that he feels is an integral part of any spring camp.

Ive always been a big Gomez fan, Living in NY, and watching him play in the minors, and in the pros, made me really like him. He plays very hard, fast as lightning, and has huge potential.
Also, I am going to try and Trade Ian Kennady and Melky, so landing a really young speedster, who will be on the team for many years will help. He also is a great defender, which the Yankees lack.

Sabathtia is better than Mussina
Teixeira is Better than Giambi
Only loss is Abreu which won't have a big affect.
More gain than loss. To top all of that, full year of Nady. Healthy Posada, Cheing Ming Wang is back.

Hey let me know what sliders your finally decide on... see what you think is pretty realistic, I think the game does a good job of making it hard to hit the aces and easy to hit the scrubs but that makes it hard to figure out where good sliders are in general... Let me know buddy

Girardi says hip bothered A-Rod last year
http://www.nypost.com/seven/05202008/photos/sports088.jpgYankees manager Joe Girardi said the team is being cautious with Alex Rodriguez’s ailing right hip because he had some problems with it last year.
“Alex expressed a little stiffness. There was really no pain,” Girardi said on Wednesday, a day after the 33-year-old slugger played for the Dominican Republic in a tuneup for the World Baseball Classic. “We just thought it was best because he had some minor issues last year with it. We’ll have a better idea after today with what the course of plan is.”
The team announced on Tuesday that Rodriguez would get his hip checked by Dr. Marc Phillipon in Vail, Colo., on Wednesday afternoon. An exam Saturday revealed a cyst in the hip.
“Whenever you have something going on, you’re concerned,” Girardi said. “The fact he didn’t have a lot of pain is a little bit more comforting. He’s been able to play, and play at a high level. It hasn’t kept him from doing anything. It hasn’t kept him from driving the baseball. That’s the good thing.”
Rodriguez’s status for the WBC was uncertain. The Dominicans’ first game is Saturday against the Netherlands in Puerto Rico.
“That will be determined by the doctor, what is Alex’s and the Yankees’ best interest,” Girardi said. “We have to err on the side of caution. We’ll let the hip specialist determine if he’s ready to go (for the first WBC game) Saturday.”
It has been a rough spring training for the All-Star third baseman

If Rivera gets hurt, Chamberlain would be closer for Yanks
http://i40.tinypic.com/n5rp5s.jpg
If New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera were to suffer an injury that kept him out of action for a significant period of time, Joba Chamberlain would step into the role according to MLB.com and the New York Post.
Chamberlain, a setup reliever upon his arrival to the Major Leagues in 2007 and for about half of last season, is expected to continue as a starter. But the officials told the Post that the subject of who would replace an injured Rivera has been discussed at the highest levels, and the belief is that Chamberlain would be the best-suited replacement. Chamberlain would be the top choice because of his combination of temperament, pitching skills and ability to handle the high-pressure job of Yankees closer — especially one taking the place of the legendary Rivera.

Well see i dont need Melky..my outfield is set with Felix Pie, Adam Jones and Nick Markakis...and With Wladimir Playing DH can play Outfield and on my bench i got Andruw Jones...then in triple A i got Ryan Freel and Nolan Reimold..so im set....i could use Swisher at First base and he hads another good power to my lineup..he would just play here 1 season as my Top firstbaseman Prospect Brandon SNyder will be playing First next season

Huges is in my AAA developing right now, I´ll call him up with any pitcher injury.
Phil Huges is a very good option for you, but I dont think the real yanks would trade him especially for a old Player and an average SP pitcher

NYY @BOS
Yankees Win 10-7 in the 3rd game of the series
This game was very productive for the yankees this game raised some batting averages, the bullpen was amazing pettite left the game in the 6th inning, and the Bullpen didnt allow any Run against the very offensive lineup.
Joe Girardi made some drastic moves, like starting Brett Gardner for 1st batter and Damon 2nd batter

I think 25 homers for A-Rod is a pretty realistic number of homers at the all-star break.
Now im 59-48 And he has AVG. 317 AND 29 Homers
