A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
Create a team is in 2k9. For this years video game I will be using my strat-o-matic team (awesome realistic card game). We have strict rules that I won't get into. All you need to know is we have to pay (contract) for the actual player's worth. so no signing someone to a cheap long term deal and getting good production back, no getting screwed if someone has a bad year, it works both ways.
We also do a draft each year with the rookies and free agents. Last year my team did great in real life, but there there is no way I can afford them all back. So below is the story of this off season, and even though I won't know how my strat-o team will be yet this year (salaries don't come out for a month), I already know that I won't be able to afford some guys (like Dustin Pedroia). All chat in my frachise story will be like it's happening in real life.

THIS OFFSEASON
Last year was a tough rebuilding year for the Magic. It was hard for them to trade away Matt Holliday midway through the season. But they believe with all the youth on the team, they can be this year's Tampa Bay. They still have some holes to fill, and lost a few key players. Lets tale a look at the headlines.

You never know what the offseason can bring, this one was a big surprise. Some thought Pedroia was gonna be here for the long haul, however the 2 could not agree on price and Pedroia is now a free agent.

Ace Erik Bedard & leadoff man Willy Taveras are gone. With the emergence of Tim Lincecum, the Magic felt like they didn't need to bring back Bedard. He and the club parted on good terms and left the door open for the future. He holds Magic's only no hitter in franchise history. Willy wanted to test out the free agent market, he will be a tough player to replace.
~The Number One Pick~

Say hello to Evan Longoria, Magic's #1 pick. Last offseason the Magic took a hard hit when David Wright left and they had to fill the position with Pedro Feliz. After the Holliday trade the Magic had a huge hole in the middle of their linup. Longoria is expected to fill that hole this season.

Magic have interest in Kerry Wood, Carlos Gomez & Chone Figgins. Rumors have been swirling about Huston Street and the closer job. Magic's interest in Wood is not good news for Street. Will they keep Street as a setup man? Or will he be traded?
Manager Will Clark seems to be a huge fan of Carlos Gomez and would love to have him in CF this year. This deal seems likely. It'll be curious to see how Jim Edmonds will feel about playing 1B fulltime this year, which is where he would go if the Magic do get Gomez.
With Pedroia walking, the Magic would like to find a top of the order hitter. They may have found it in Chone Figgins. Magic are talking trade with rival team, Hollywood Hitmen. It's unknown at this point what the Magic would have to give up.

Magic Updates to Come!
All that you have read is pure fantasy, Will Clark could not be reached to see if he wanted to manage my fantasy team... maybe next year.
