Ball Strip

How exactly does Ball Strip work? I've been coming from the blindside to a QB with a DE/OLB that has Ball Strip and nothing happens. Do I press X, the Right Stick, or just run into him?

Honestly it is random....but I have had the most fumbles by just running into the carrier. Another method that sometimes works is when you stand up the ball carrier and a second tackler comes in.
