I want to hear from you what you think your team will do in the first round of the NFL draft and since we have many leagues that use those Rookie players on there teams what would you give your player on your list. Here is how I think my Seahawks will go in the NFL Draft.
Seahawks have the #4 pick in the draft and though many would say that a certain player will go to the Seahawks but with some new information from the Combine I will update my pick for the Seahawks......
Many experts including myself thought it was a done deal that the Seahawks would choose Michael Crabtree for the team but with his stress fracture in his foot and the way that same injury affected Shaun Alexander I will say the Seahawks will not choose Crabtree.
When Drafting for a NFL team they need to look at there weaknesses obviously but they need to see what they need to win there division more and how to match up with in there Division. With that said I believe the Seahawks will take Malcolm Jenkins the CB from Ohio State so they could match up with the Cardinals and Fitzgerald and Boldin. Last year everybody attacked Kelly Jennings and stayed away from Marcus Trufant. It got so bad that Jennings was benched for Josh Wilson who made a lot of great plays at CB. Even though I think the Seahawks will draft Jenkins I would like them to Draft B.J. Raji the DT from Boston College. I don't think they will draft Raji because they have had so many 1st rd bust at DT they will be gun shy. If they had Raji they would collapse the pocket every down which in turn would help the secondary.
Here is how I see the possible players for the Seahawks....
Aaron Curry LB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEwCf7huMgs - Is a player that could end up being the #1 overall pick with his talent. With the Seahawks Franchising Leroy Hill and they still have Lofa Tatupu & Julian Peterson I highly doubt he will land in Seattle even though IMO he is the best player in the Draft.
Curry ( Closing Speed, Speed Burner, Quick Feet, Pass Rush Bonus, Run Reader )
Michael Crabtree WR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPz7caPqoJE - He is very good but there are more 1st rd bust at the WR position than any other position in draft history. With his stress fracture and that he ended up coming in at 2 inches shorter than his listed height at Texas Tech will drop him in the Draft. The Seahawks wanted a Healthy big WR and he is neither with the new information. He was listed at 6'3" at TT and was measured at 6'1" at Combine.
Crabtree ( Strength Bonus, Acrobatic Catch, TIM, Quick Feet, Deep Threat )
B.J. Raji DT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UQ2YGE9SLM - Raji is the pick I would like to see the Seahawks take simply because our run coverage and the lack of a DT collapsing the pocket hurts this team a lot. Since Marcus Tubbs injury basically ended his shirt career the Seahawks have been searching for a DT that cause enough havoc that our LB's could make more plays. the Seahawks have arguably the best in the NFL but it is hard to use them the best way possible if the O-Line is constantly on them. Watching tape of Raji he punishes the blockers and collapses the pocket down after down. He lead Boston College in Sacks with 8 and he is a 337 pound DT. Pressure on the QB makes the rest of the defense so much better that a top tiered CB is not needed. Also notable is the Seahawks use a rotation at D-Line so this pick probably won't be as much as a need as the other areas.
Raji ( Quick Feet, Run Coverage, Pass Rush Bonus, Spin, Bull Rush )
Malcolm Jenkins CB http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoU-BZ3gy44 He is the kind of CB that matches up well on the other side of Trufant. He is a true lock down CB with great ball skills and attacks ball carriers like Trufant does. with the addition of Jenkins the Seahawks could end up having the best CB tandem in the NFL with Josh Wilson coming in at Nickle would create a awesome secondary that in turn would help the D-Line. With a great secondary the QB will hold the ball longer than normal which will cause coverage sacks. With the Seahawks facing the Cardinals they need to step up and lock down these WR's if they hope to win there division. Coach Jim Mora specializes in CB's and he might push Ruskell to drafting this CB and this is the player I see the Seahawks taking as the #4 overall pick in the 2009 Draft.
Jenkins ( Quick Feet, Ball Hawk, Bump Master, Run Coverage, Wrap up Tackler )
After all that I will go on record as saying the Seahawks will select Malcolm Jenkins, B.J. Raji, Michael Crabtree in that order in case Jenkins is picked before the Seahawks pick.
With the #4 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the Seattle Seahawks select..... Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio State!!

Curry has all the speed attributes so what are you getting at? Are you saying that those 4 players are not agile for the position? After looking at the video I would say that all 4 are very agile including the big fat guy in Raji.

I think my chargers will draft
Rey Maulaluga- Run Coverage,Closing Speed,Leadership,Strength,Run Reader
To be honest we don't have any playmakers at the MLB position, Cooper is serviceable at times but the other MLB is a weak point. Wilhelm sucks, Dobbins sucks. We let Donnie Edwards go thinking Wilhelm was the answer but he get's moved around way too much especially against the run.

A lot of mock drafts say we will take a rb but that would be a huge mistake. Not only did we franchise sproles but we're keeping L.T so what's the point? To be honest running back is a position usually full with talent in most drafts so we don't really need to take one in the first round.

I think your pick would be a perfect fit for the Chargers 3-4 defense. A BIG ILB with range.

O yeah I forgot. I think it's a no brainer the Seahawks have to take Crab. Think about it he'll be playing the Rams,Cards,49ers twice a season. All of those teams have fairly weak secondaries. I think Rodgers-Cromartie is the only one who can match up to him at this point an he hasn't played a down yet. The Seahawks lacked explosive plays in the passing game last year so they could use his help.

HAha, do you know what I notice? You must be extremely jealous that your rival 49ers have Patrick Willis. You wish to find another one like him. There is NO ONE in the league is fast as Willis for linebacker position. Just face the truth, man.
Curry is more likely to have closing speed bonus than "speed burner" since he "looks" fast in closing to the ball. I don't like how you look in the video because your judgement is so weak.

Talking about how WR is the biggest bust in NFL Draft history. Does anyone remember Charlie Rogers? Mike Williams? They all came out with a lot of hype and with Crabtree's injury and his lack of Height it will cause him to drop down in draft. the perfect scenario for me if for the Seahawks to get 2 of the guys I listed by one of them falling late in to the 2nd rd or they move up in a trade for another 1st rd pick. IMO if you want a player to be a shooin in the 1st rd of the draft and they are not as good as they should be to be picked in that rd than don't draft an agent..... Go get the marketing team for Madden and everyone will buy in to the hype LOL.

WOW!!! A normal post from you LOL. Just because it is a normal post I will reply. All my CAPS are always up for review and are always updated. I take the advice from everyone in this game and on these forums for accurate attributes for my CAPS.
As I said in this very first post..... Let me know what you think of the attributes you would think would accurately portray these players. If I was stuck in just my opinion on player why would I ask Killa what attribute he would replace Crabtree and his Quick Feet I had listed for him.
Why do you think people post players for my CAPS list for discussion on tier of attributes? Is it because I refuse to listen to them or that I am open to changing a player to his realistic attributes???
Know what your talking about or you will look ignorant.

Washington Redskins- DE/OLB Brian Orakpo from Texas (Closing Speed, Pass Rush Bonus, Sack Master, Rip, Strength) Strength is debatable, but he benches 515 and squats 600 so I used it to fill out his 5. The other one that would be subbed in for Strength is Quick Feet but that can also be debated because according to ESPN.com he is a fluid athlete but doesn't get up to speed very quickly, although he closes in on the ball carrier/quarterback fast.
Baltimore Ravens- WR Darrius Heyward-Bey from Maryland (not who I think they will pick unless there is not a solid CB available, but he's the hometown guy and I would like to see them get him, and I also know a lot about him so its easier to create him) (Quick Feet, Speed Burner, Breakaway Burst, Acrobatic Catches) Just 4 attributes for him as he doesn't really deserve much else.

WR Darrius Heyward-Bey: He is a great athlete that has very little WR abilities. He was a track star turned in to a football player. He is below average as a WR so I don't see any team taking a project like him until 3rd rd.
Brian Orakpo DE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZTelDHwUwY ( Speed Burner, Pass Rush Bonus, Sack Master, Rip, Ball Strip )

Heyward-Bey will not slip past the first half of the 2nd round, that much I can guarantee. He just recently got pushed out of Mel Kiper's top 32 Big Board but was on it for a while, I think he's around the 35-40 range now. And the Ravens would take chance on him if there aren't any good CB's available. Honestly I don't know a whole lot about Orakpo, I just read that he didn't have tremondous speed although he was a great athlete. After watching that video, though, he does seem pretty fast.

I don't think I have ever said Lofa was a Speed Burner at all. If you think I am jealous because Willis is a fast LB and Lofa is slow well the only thing I can say is that he always leads the Seahawks in tackles except this year because of his missed games and how many Pro Bowls has he played in? How many have Willis played in? You guys really need to stop acting like people are saying **** when they are not. Stay on Willis nuts all you want but if they don't start winning they will see him leave the 49ers like Julian Peterson did because he wants to play for a present day winner not a 1980's winner.

The last Combine prospect that had a great combine like that was Matt Jones and we all know how well he has done in the NFL right? Like I said I think he will drop to the 3rd rd or after. This is just my opinion but we will see in April.
If the 40 yard dash is the only thing that would get you drafted in the 1st rd than every track star would join a college team and than go to the combine and get paid for being reallllly fastttttt.

Brian Orakpo DE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZTelDHwUwY ( [B]Speed Burner[b/] Pass Rush Bonus, Sack Master, Rip, Ball Strip )
Can you please elaborate where you see he has "Speed Burner" in that video? A lot of scout experts know that Orakpo isn't the fastest DE/OLB in the 2009 draft class. I am still picking on you with your stupid prediction, until you've learned about football.
I'd say, go replace "Closing Speed" insteads of "Speed Burner."
I have been seriously considering to make a hard bet with you for the 40's against you, since you're so ignorant with your prediction.

As a DE he has that elite speed to turn the corner and get the QB and closes really well. His 40 time was in range of a Speed Burner DE. At LB he would have zero speed attributes. There are 2 things IMO that qualifies for a speed attribute.
There is Track Speed that is used in the combine and there is Game Speed and thats what Orakpo has. I am sorry if you don't agree but in all those highlights you can see how fast he gets around the corner on the tackle. The biggest knock on him is consistency.

According to that link you've posted: 40 Time: 4.73 40 Low: 4.62 40 High: 4.84
That is not the top-notch speed for his position. For the top-notch speeder DE, look at Jevon Kearse as a good example back in his draft day. I've heard he went 4.45 in 40 yards. For a big guy, look at Julius Pepper - 6'6" 285lb that ran 4.55 seconds in 40.
Orakpo is very strong instincted guy, he's not the fast one but fast to react to the ball carrier. That's what "Closing Speed" for.
We will talk about the speed for Orakpo after tomorrow's result.

Closing speed is overpowered IMO... especially for safeties, LBs, and D-linemen. Unrealistic speed sacking the QB and sometimes they are so fast off the edge on rushing the passer that the OT can't keep up and even touch them.

DE - Speed Burner, run coverage, pass rush bonus, rip, sack master.
OLB - Run Coverage, Pass Rush Bonus, Strength Bonus, Sack Master.

I actually thought Michael Johnson would be the fastest for DE corp and Everette Brown to be 2nd. Now, I see Orakpo is that pretty good in speed. It could make sense that Orakpo should be top rated because he has strength.

Yea Michael Johnson has a very small frame for being a rush DE in the NFL. I thought he would be the fastest also. Look at his frame. He is a LB playing DE. Johnson will drop really far in the draft simply because at the NFL level his size is too small to play DE and his lack of speed does make it logical for him to play LB because every team will attack him in space if he is a LB.

I think he just needs to add some weight to his frame. He's got the height, he just needs to add more width to his body.

Neither Mel Kiper or Todd McShay have him going in the first round... and Walter Football's mock nfl draft has us taking him in the second round... and even if it doesnt happen i think Rhett Bomar is a big possibility, and id give him the same abilities.

I'm HOPING the Jets draft Hakeem Nicks. Tough, good hands, plays bigger then his height, kind of like Chris Chambers, with some wiggle after the catch.
Jets are tough, because they need an athletic LB as well, in the worst way.
I absolutely LOVE USC's Brian Cushing. He's exactly the type of LB the Jets need.
The Draft is deep at WR so I would roll the dice that I can get a quality one in the 2nd rounf, if Cushing is on the board.

But Malcolm Jenkins is not Ronnie Lott and he got hand-timed in the 4.5 range which, according to Don (Dan?) Banks from Si.com really equates to a low 4.6.

No I like Malcolm Jenkins a lot. Think about how much over rated the 40 time is.....
Let me give you a GREAT EXAMPLE :D
The Cardinals Drafted in the 1st RD Bryant Johnson WR based solely on his 40 time.
The Cardinals Drafted Anquan Boldin in 2nd rd base off skill and Boldin had I think a high 4.7 40 yard dash.
Who do you think was a better pick???
Malcolm Jenkins is a Bump Man CB with great coverage skills. There is waayyyy too much stake in the 40 and the Bench Press.
Joe Thomas was no where near the tops in the Bench Press when he got drafted and he is a Pro Bowl Left Tackle.
The Combine is for show and will move some players up the board but when it comes down to it the real question is can he play Smart Football???

6'2 1/2" from what I see, but I get your point.
Stud Players in college often look so much more physically imposing when going up against other 19 and 20 yr olds.
He also could be a guy who plays "bigger then his height" which I think is the case.

I dont know Hitman. He could be more of a Ronde Barber type CB, which isnt a bad thing. Ronde is going to be in the HOF. I dont think he is going to be a great "on the island" CB though.
The good thing about Jenkins that I like is that he has good technique and whenever I saw him, he was always around the ball.
Good technique can make up for a .10 in the 40.
A CB can have all of the speed in the world, but sloppy technique will turn him into a Deangelo Hall type: A guy who's physical ability cons people into believing he's better then he really is.

No LOL, Crabtree in College was listed at 6'3" and at the combine his actual height was 6'1" 3/8 LOL.
Seattle wanted a big tough and Healthy WR and he is neither right now. There is no guarantee that his injury won't be an issue. That is the same kind of injury Shaun Alexander had. I Believe because of this they will be gun shy.

Almost all of 'em had the Steelers taking an O-linemen in the 1st round last year.
That didn't happen.
The Steelers can usually find quality O-line in the later rounds.

Mock Drafts are fun to read but ultimately not very useful. Mel Kiper only got 7 picks right last year and he is one of the best in the business. I really enjoy reading them to get a good idea of what could happen but at the end of the day no one knows what is going to happen on draft day unless you have seen every team's Big Board.
