The #1 Defense was scorched by the 1989 49ers. So is it overpowered?

The Broncos got abused by the 49ers and they had the fewest points scored against them in the Season.
So is offense overpowered in APF?

No, and I suck at D, and still think that. Offense is at an natural advantage in football. They know the play, the snap count, and have been practicing it all year long. The D, may know tendancies, and if lucky seen the play on film more then once.

This is just another sad attempt to show a video of the 1980's 49ers LOL

My point exactly, Receivers always have a step on their routes cuz they know it.

Sunday Dec 21. Titans destroyed the Steelers 31-17 in 2008 and Steelers were #1 Defense.

Shoot why not use the Super Bowl as an example. The Cards smoked Pittsburgh. They may have even won if the last play was reviewed, or if Holmes TD celebration was called for a 15 yard penalty like it should have been.

Well I have to contest a point. James Harrison gets a 100 yard INT-TD against that offense. Yes, they scored more often on Pittsburgh than most, including me expected. That being said, I don't think the Cards smoked Pittsburgh at all. "Smoking" a team would be what the 49ers did to the Chargers in 1994... or what the 85 Bears did in the Super Bowl. I don't see how the winning team can get "smoked".
I know most wanted the cardinals to win, but I feel most with that disposition are nitpicking and looking through that good ol' biased perspective. I'd expect less knowledgeable people to complain like that, but I think educated football fans know better. The better team won.

I think it's pretty accurate. Offensive teams have the advantage in the NFL. The biggest issue I have with Defense isn't with the coverage but the pass rush.

You're generalizing too much. There are some things that are overpowered, and some that are underpowered, and there are aspects of the defense that need to be fixed which affect offensive performance, in other words, not all problems are offensive. For example:
o Break Tackles needs to be toned down a lot (A, A, A, FTW!)
o Generic Catching needs to be increased
o LBs need to take better routes to the QB
o DBs need to play zones better
o DLine Star Players need a buff
Those are just aspects of the game that need to be tuned, and doesn't include bugs that affect the game play.

My generic CB contained Raymond Berry... So uhm... Yeah my OLB got a sack and star linemen did also...

Offense is easier to play than defense.
All you have to do is take a look at DDD.
That is a league with bronze offenses going against gold and silver defenses... yet the offense can put up points.
Another example is NFLHITMAN and I'm sure he can attest that he wins more games when he runs a stacked offense compared to a stacked defense. When I play him with a stacked offense he is night/day compared to when he's playing with a stacked defense.
At the end of the day it's a simple concept.
Whoever puts up the most points in the game wins. When you have a stacked offense you have more leeway in play execution as well as the natural advantages that offense has against defenses.
Also the discrepancies between gold/silver offensive players and their bronze counter parts are HUGE compared to the differences between gold/silver and bronze defenders.
- Gold/Silver QBs are WORLDs better than bronze QBs... so much so that people REFUSE to play with bronze QBs.
- Gold/Silver TE/WRs make tougher catches and find holes in coverage better than their bronze counter parts.
- Gold/Silver RBs have a natural speed advantage over a speed burner bronze, way better hands, and break more tackles.
On defense the differences between tiers are not as pronounced, IMO. You suffer very little loss from every positions except gold DL and safety.
To sum it up offense has an advantage because they are given more leeway in play execution and the discrepancies amongst tiers for offense and defensive players.

Or you stink at calling plays on defense and you let him abuse you... Oh and CAP are overpowered on both sides...

The answer to a more realistic feel of the game and where the D-line and defense in general would play lights out is if the game speed was on Fast. Don't believe me? Go in to a custom lobby game and turn the speed to fast. Get a couple D-line legends and watch the chaos because they simply perform there move faster and make it 100% worth it to have on your team.

No and here is the problem with all pro,
All Pro gameplay is more of a high school gameplay, the speed of defene in the pros is way faster. Plus the Stupidity of AI on out routes in zone.
NFL Fever is the closest thing ive seen to SIM NFL in video games

No its not overpowered those complaints have died out do to the fact that the game has evolved and you dont have everyone running around with 2 golds and 3 silvers on offense anymore.
Well except Vegas96 and FiscalchileONE.
